  1. Acting the goat again this afternoon and so far this evening I've manged to get on briefly. Now, not even as far as an Error404 , just a blank screen.
  2. Big congrats from me too. I know the miscalculated feeling with one or two of them, but had great fun too.
  3. Well done on a fantastic acheivement. As said, the Wirral would be lacking without Phils efforts. I've spent far too long in the past puzzling over some of his caches
  4. Well, this afternoon has been on again, off again, on again, off again, on again, off again ...................... Will it ever be on long enough for my PQs to run today ??
  5. At the bottom of the screen, just to the right of centre, there's an button that looks like a padlock. Toggling this button locks and unlocks the GPS position indicator on the map. When locked, it will hold the position indicator, initially, in the middle of the screen. But you can then drag the map to put the indicator anywhere on the screen. In the memory map menu, you can also programme your buttons to do certain functions, like zoom in, zoom out, lock/unlock etc... Also mentioned above are timeouts. This happens quite often, while Memory Map is waiting for the GPSr to get a reliable, usable fix. Just a quirk of Memory Map. Unfortunately, soemtimes, I find the only way to stop the time outs, even after a fix is avaialable, is to do a soft reset. Then, if you have a built in GPSr give it some time to obtain a fix again before opening Memory Map. The time it takes to get a fix, will mainly depend on how far you have moved since it last had a reliable fix. Hope this helps.
  6. I paid so I can use PQs (bulk handling of search results) GPX files Both used for paperless caching and for the greater amount of detail available in a GPX file compared to a LOC file. Bookmarks Notifications Caches along a route (new addition since becoming a member, but more than just a bit useful) For the small amount of money it costs, (in comparision, say to the money we spend on other caching equipment - GPSrs, PDAs etc...) it's also a way of supporting the site and helping, in a small way, to keep it going. Wonder what the ratio of members to premium members is ?
  7. I quite agree!! I was in Reading on a training course last week and did caching in the evenings (saves going to the pub and being hungover the next day on the training course!) and I took 500 caches on my palm with me and on my GPS. A radius of about 25 miles. 500 caches up where I am (north Wales) has a radius of about 48 miles!! Too many caches in Berkshire, I quite agree!! Right, that's it, I'm off to Bershire over Xmas / New Year
  8. Well done and congratulations to Pieman for hitting 6 at my Liverpool Airport cache today
  9. If you go to the same shop as me - I've fitted trackers to their entire stock
  10. Dare you .....................................
  11. Must be that everyone is out Christmas shopping
  12. Totaly normal, don't worry - just get on with it and feel better for it.
  13. Probably discussed before, but I can't find it ............. It would be really useful to be able to create a PQ based on a search by keywords.
  14. Max Speilmans gave me 50 when I asked for a few That'll keep me going in micros for a while.
  15. I do quite a bit of night caching and (nearly) always stay away from habitation. In some urban areas, you can get away with being bold as brass. I think each one needs to be assessed for the very reason you are concerned about. If it's out in the countryside, no problem. You have the right to use public rights of way as much as anyone else, and could be out for a walk at anytime of the day or night. But I don't like searching by tourch light close to a house.
  16. Now 112 2 more from the Great Defenders
  17. I'm a bit stumped for ideas, but I'm sure someone will bail me out.
  18. The Great Defenders have been at it again, 3 more = 110
  19. Yes, but you'll need to validate your membership and become a premium member to get to the PQ pages. Each PQ then has a button to "Preview in Google Maps". Hope that helps.
  20. Ah............ but, the more recent(ish) ones are outside of the CrazyL200 version of the Wirral(ish) borders Hee hee... true... but still... a great list!!!!! Absolutely, and on the TO DO list (ish)
