  1. Hello, Try it without the SD card installed. If it's OK without the SD card installed then its probably a corrupt card or corrupt file on the card. Regards Bernard
  2. Hello There, Yes, perhaps the easiest way is with Geocaching Map Enhancements from jri look at this page and follow the link to the download. It has a provision to make a route on a map through several caches and gives the routes total length. Regards Bernard
  3. Pc ok otherwise just issues with MM Hi, I use the Magic Map directly, that suits my requirements better and its working perfectly. You could try clearing your browser cache and temp files. Then go in again from the Magic Map home page. Regards Bernard
  4. Hello There, I don't think the logs can be exported by either Easy or Export GPS. The last logs as either found (F) or dnf (N) can be sent via GSAK and Rutsons Memory Map Export macro, see here. Check the April 5th post, in the screen shot, in the comments box the item "[%4logs]" sends the last 4 logs to the comments of Memory Map. If the last 4 logs were finds the report is FFFF Not a complete remedy but better than nothing. Regards Bernard
  5. Hello Aushiker, A few suggestions here. Regards Bernard
  6. Hi Team Airtomoreira, If you are using Firefox then click Tools on the top menu bar, click "Add-ons". The little monkey should be on the left marked as "User Scripts". Scroll down to "Geocaching Map Enhancements 0.6.4" Click "Options" Click "Edit" this user script Edit it as above. Regards Bernard Sorry just saw you are on Google Chrome. You could try clicking on the little Three Bars symbol at top right "Customize and Control Google Chrome" Click "Tools" then "Extensions" see if the monkey is there.
  7. Hi Chris, Quote from TalkyToaster "Please note: Uploading the GMAPSUPP.IMG to your Garmin GPSr [or MicroSD card] will overwrite any existing mapset you have installed on the device using the same name." If you want to keep your old/existing map rename it and set a copy safely aside. The site quoted above is OK and the maps are really good. Shout if you want any help! Regards Bernard
  8. Hi, As sussamb says, when you're on the screen/page to enter a waypoint press menu and you should get the delete waypoints screen/page. Regards Bernard
  9. Hello There, 7. How can I delete a lot of waypoints at once? Press find > waypoints > menu > delete...This will let you delete all waypoints or waypoints of any given icon of your choosing. After a Google search for "Garmin Etrex Vista HCx delete all waypoints" the above was taken from here. Regards Bernard
  10. Hi, Globalsat BT 338, 20-channel high-sensitivity SiRFStarIII GPS receiver; WAAS-enabled; Bluetooth; up to 12 hours battery life. I've used one with an HP Ipaq for several years and had no trouble Regards Bernard
  11. Hello Chrisnkim2010, Yes the Garmin Oregon 450 and a lot of other Garmin models will take free OSM maps. See here for the best UK ones, IMHO See here for the rest of the planet Regards Bernard
  12. Hi, bit late I know (missed the train). This is the one that was by the foot crossing of the railway, as I recall it was in the top of a post or around a post somehow. If not then I have the archive links to several more round there as was said a lot were archived it was a cacher moved away from the area. Regards Bernard
  13. Hello There, Unfortunately you choose the least easiest route that was given above, (the wiki page, good info but not most straight fore-ward IMHO) . There is no need to download anything from OSM as it's all done and compiled by the most generous Talky Toaster. All information is on this LINK and the "Garmin Oregon 450 and a mac." are specifically catered for. I don't use an Oregon but I think you'll find all instructions are on that link. Have a look and get back if you need further help. Regards Bernard
  14. Hi There, Such frustration! If I were you I'd try and find an easier game to play. Regards
  15. Hello Martin, First Many Thanks for compiling these maps for the community, much appreciated. May I ask if you will be updating the 121102-British-Isles+Contours-Routable-OS50ttR-GMAPSUPP.zip map, please? Seasons Greetings Regards Bernard
  16. Hello Larry, Sorry I can't help further, except to say that on trying to find out more information it seems thee is a discrepancy as to where Garmin Communicator should be installed. On searching the problem most folk say Communicator should be in C:Program Files (x86). In my case Garmin Comunicator is an add-on extension to Firefox. Folk have reported this problem before and sometimes it mysteriously rights it's self. Regards Bernard
  17. Hello There, I don't think you will see the connected device in file explorer unless you initiate mass storage on the device's interface. You do not need to do that to send from a cache page to the gps. I'm using latest Firefox, Garmin 60csx, Windows7 64bit. What I think has happened is that Garmin has updated their "Garmin Communicator". I just plugged my 60csx in and on trying to "Send to My GPS" it said that a plugin was needed. The automatic updating did not work but I was able to update Garmin Communicator via THIS PAGE . Now able to send a cache waypoint to the 60csx by clicking "Send to My GPS" Regards Bernard
  18. Hello There, An 8gb card in a Garmin (mine is 60csx) should hold months of daily gpx files (several hours per day) plus a few maps. There have in the past been serious problems with using a GPS in China (state security), you might want to check out the current situation. Regards Bernard
  19. Hi, The point of adjusting the Magnetic Declination on your compass is so that you can take a bearing (compass heading) from the map and it automatically has the map north to magnetic north deviation accounted for. Similarly when you know where you are on the map you can take a compass reading / heading to a POI in the distance, place compass on the map and align the compass to point to the POI on the map. There should be no error. This site will give you the differences between Grid North, True North and Magnetic North for the whole of the UK.Regards Bernard
  20. Hi, Yes a compass does have to be recalibrated especially if it's been a few years since last done. Though I suspect not for the reasons you're thinking of. See here for why and how! Regards Bernard
  21. Hi, Talky Toasters OpenStreetMap, latest update is a few topics down to here instructions there as well. Why? Cos they're the best, made by us for us and exactly what we'd charge ourselves, free, you can donate for the service if you wish. Regards Bernard
  22. Hello Biggles1234, I just noticed no ones yet answered your query, I don't use a Mac. However I had a look at the instructions to download to a Mac and the only thing I can think of to give your problem is that MapManager is not pointed at the unzipped gmapi file. It can't be determined from your screenshot if you are pointing at the correct file so you could just make sure of this point. Sorry I can't help more. Regards Bernard
  23. Hi, I'd say to immediately register a complaint with Garmin to let them know of the problem. Sending it back to them should result in a refurbished unit. I don't know what statutory rights you might have from where you purchased the unit, in the UK it's would usually be best to take it back to the shop where it was purchased. Sorry I've no idea whats wrong. Regards Bernard
  24. Hi, It sounds like you've reached the units way-point limit, (1000 I think). Delete all way-points and start filling it up again. On the Etrex 30 I don't think you cat delete just some way-points, it's all or nothing. So if you want to keep any of them download them to Mapsource/Basecamp before deleting from the unit. Regards Bernard
