  1. What is the policy about caches that are placed to specifically promote a business venture? I thought they were not allowed, but have seen some get approved recently. Have the rules changed?
  2. I'm a cacher from up in the Chicago area. I have travelled in the Rocky Mount area quite a bit and just did a search on GC.COM and was amazed at how many caches are in the Rocky Mount area. Just wondering if there is a really active group down there or just one heck of a lot of cacher hiders/finders? Dan
  3. I understand the GC.COM is using LUCAS ELECTRIC servers. Remember, Brits drink warm beer because they have Lucas refrigerators. Or another approach, If Lucas Electronics manufactured guns, we would have no more wars. The traditional British motorcycle has a three position headlight switch, FLICKER, DIM, and OFF. Lucas's best invention was the short circuit.
  4. Got the answer, I never deleted any of the queries I had run for the last two years. I went in, cleared out the file, and all is good. Thanks again for your reply.

  6. OK, I set up my first public bookmark list and now when I try to run a pocket query, I get a message that I have exceeded my limit for queries. I suspect that people using the list might be my issue, but wonder if anyone can shed some light on what is going on? Thanks in advance. Dan
  7. Thanks. I have cut and pasted the above comments and sent them to Iserv.
  8. Well, it turns out our ISP is using Spam Cop to police mail servers that are sending out large amounts of spam. They claim that the Geocaching.com mail server was guilty. They have whitelisted the domain's IP address.
  9. Let's just say that the reply service from Geocaching.com is not too good. I think that they should reply to clients and they don't.
  10. I'm using iserv.net. Normally they are good, but this item stinks. I'm using an altenate account until I get it sorted out. Thanks to all for the suggestions.
  11. My ISP is using some blasted spam blocker that has cut me off from any notifications from Geocaching.com. I have temporarily set up another account, but would like to get this resolved. How do I get Geocaching.com to send me one of the bounce messages? I believe that they are using SpamCop to cause the problem.
  12. Well, once I learned I could use the newest version of MapSource to directly transfer .gfx files I decided that's how I'm going to go. I made 4 attempts to download the 20Meg file, no luck. Called Garmin and they're sending me a CDROM no charge for shipping or anything. Man, that is good service.
  13. I just learned of the new version and am in the process of getting it to install it. Thanks for pointing this out to me. Keep on searching.
  14. We are using a Garmin eTrex GPS and using MapSource to transfer the coordinates into the unit. I am doing that one waypoint at a time and would like to use the .loc or .gfx files available. I have not figured out if I can do that with MapSource and suspect that I cannot. If I replace the eTrex with another model or brand, am I correct that the software like EasyGPS would be compatible across almost any model and brand unit? Comments or recommendations, especially on how to use .loc/.gfx files with my Garmin AS IS, if possible.
  15. WHere is there an index or listing of acronyms used by Cachers? TFTC = ? DFTC = didn't find the cache (I think)
