  2. Following the arrow is a surefire way to get PO in Tecolote Canyon. Oh, sure. Now you tell me... Sorry... Thought it was common knowledge. Hey LLOT! Why not post the pictures of your PO again as a reminder for those who take PO lightly...
  3. Once the sticker wears out, the first person with the name kwvers! gets the Jeep! It was time for you to get a new one anyway...
  4. We should make him a Reviewer. Yea!!!! and get rid of the "Pinko Commie" as Harmon would say...Always looked like a pink elephant to me though....
  5. Mrs.kwvers! and I are still having a blast...We are still surprised when we find a cache...Happy to be able to climb a hill..wonder if there really is a cache under the LPC and even have to look there a few times to actually spot it...We like logging our finds and actually remembering our journey. We have often almost crawled from our Jeep into the house because we were so sore after the days adventure..Have had Poison Ivy and Poison oak, broke a bone got stitches, ripped some good clothing, had blisters and scratches, stuck by cactus, stung by bees..have had more flat tires than ever expected..driven down roads that we never knew existed, talked to many policemen and business owners..been honked at. laughed at,questioned and admired. It's a crazy game, sport, adventure, obsession, hobby, excuse to walk or just get away...When we are gone..others will "pass us up"..no worries here....Just making new friends, learning to forgive when wronged..even learning how to spell a word correctly now and then. Happy New Year and we hope to meet more of you cachers out there in the future!
  6. being that there are no cattle grates (inside joke) nearby and no qualms made by local cachers I vote that this cache remains...but it's gonna be tough with two administrators putting their thumbs down...But who knows, maybe a kind gesture in light of a New Year dawning will turn the tide...good luck I agree with kwvers - it's definitely one of my favorites, and the final location is awesome! I wish we could have virtual caches again, as this would be a prime candidate. I imagine that if an actual cache container were replaced at the final location and the cache page edited to remove the "virtual" logging language, the cache could be unarchived and it would remain as a multi so long as it was properly maintained. It will never be unarchived in its current state, though, since virtuals are no longer accepted on the GC.com website. BTW, I would be happy to place a container and take over cache maintenance, if Hid PRo Quo would like me to adopt over the cache to me... By Golly I think Flagman may have the answer,,,

  8. Mr. Negative, that's me! Speaking of being negative... ...just because you can't see the PO doesn't mean it can't get you. PO twigs, when they've dropped their leaves for the winter are very hard to recognize and yet, they are just loaded with urushiol. It's very easy to go through a thicket of PO without realizing it. I speak from experience. You see, a couple of years ago, right around this time, there was a big puzzle series released by some guy (I can't remember who it was, but his caching name was an arctic creature: NorthernWalrus or PolarNarwhal or something like that...) Anyway, in pursuit of one or more of the caches in this series, I got a nasty dose of PO that covered my entire body. My leg swelled up so badly that I had to go to Urgent Care. I went through three re-occurrences of the rash before I finally shook it off. And I never saw the PO that got me. I know the day, I know which of the series that I was searching for, but I do not know where it was that I ran into the PO. So, if you do search for these caches (or any caches in areas where PO is common e.g. Tecolote Canyon, Marion Bear Park, Penasquitos Canyon, etc. ) do not become complacent just because the PO is "less rampant" this time of year. If anything, you are more likely to have a nasty encounter because, without its leaves, you might not see it coming... I have seen the PO in full color in Tecolote Canyon! I would only go back in a full Hazmat outfit...
  9. Szar Foyo is more local and a great challenge....you can do it!
  10. Way Cool! That is no simple feat!!! Congratulations!!! Way to go !!!!!!!!! Yay!! Congrats, you two!! You did it!! Awesome!!! Fantabulous!!! Super Dooper!!! Great Work!! wow!!!
  11. Hmmm. Well, when I go out for my Yrium cards ... I always try to be super stealth. You and Tom go to such great lengths to make these amazing cards; I certainly wouldn't want to compromise the integrity of the card location. This is the only picture I could find that even comes close to my Yrium Hunt Attire; so far, I don't think anyone has every photographed me there ... and I plan to keep it that way. boysnbarrie Barrie...We neeed to talk....

  13. "Why hush my puppy! Would I do a thing like that?" Ohh no! Maybe after all you did for me today, I could try to help YOU by finding you one ! I really appreciate how you helped me out today, mister kwvers! Whoops! Did I just spill the beans? Uh oh lesson learned....What's done in secret will be SHOUTED from the rooftops! []
  14. Attaboy Tom, drop an Yrium-card on Sunday ... that should trigger a mad dash to Max's Favorite Park. I can see it now, BoysnBarrie rushing there after church services wearing her finest Sunday-go-to-meeting high-heels and cha-cha dress. One thing missing at Max's Favorite Park is an online Webcam. There's a misprint in this set that seems an appropriate finale to this year of zany San Diego Geocaching. Pretty much it reveals what sort of minds are drawn to Geocaching. Don't miss this misprint ... y'all will understand when y' see it. It has been a great year for the Yrium cards, thanks ever-so much to FlagMan's devotion and dedication. For my part it is an honor to help keep Yrium's memory with us. We are continually amazed at how both of you find the time and artistic fervor to complete these cards, such effort would gobble up almost all available caching time for normal folks. This is another great effort and so uniquely part of the San Diego community, thanks for all the hard work. Hey everybody, look ... artistic fervor. Does this mean that I've finally hit the big-time with my pal FlagMan? To be honest it isn't work nor is it hard ... once your fingers learn all about Photoshop then the rest is easy. Well, almost easy, the actual hard part is discovering an appropriate concept for each Yrium-card. You da man, Harmon!! You da man, Tom!!! I actually drove to get my cards today...They look real nice! Can you believe next year will be #8 I was all dressed up in my Sunday best, high heels and cha cha dress, so that after church I could head to Max's on my way to Temecula. Imagine my surprise when I got a call on my cell informing me that 'someone' was on their way to Max's to pick up a card for me . I am so thankful for my geo-buddies ... simply the best! boysnbarrie Rats! no pictures of the high heels and the cha-cha dress? Just wait 'til I find out who picked-up for you. K', was that you? "Why hush my puppy! Would I do a thing like that?" I'm still looking for TNG#11 - SKILLET..Anybody seen one in a cache lately?

  17. Keeping someone else's property is considered theft. And it definitely spoils the fun of the purpose of sending them out to travel. Icons that show up on cache pages for TBs and coins that have long since not been in the cache can be moved to "missing" by either the owner of the traveler or the owner of the cache. But many people do not seem to know they can do this. As for the cachers who may have your travelers but haven't released them back into a cache, a polite email asking them to do so can work wonders. Many people just forget they have them and need a gentle reminder to get them moving again. I agree completely! I did try and message the people who have them but have had no response. It would be nice if all Cachers shared your (our) thoughts on this matter and moved them along.... just isnt always the case. Happy Caching. we move them as quickly as possible
  18. We miss John,,,Thanks for serving! We even think you look good in green!

  21. honk honk!!!! now we know where you were today! Find a puppy? Eleven finds, ice cream cone, dinner in Julian, apple pie on the kitchen counter, lovely drive in the rain, seventy-five photos, and a grand day out with my sweet bride. Terrific. During dinner in Julian it was raining pretty hard outside. When we finished I offered to dash out to the truck for an umbrella remarking that as sugar-sweet as Sandy is she would surely melt in the rain. ... eye-roll from Sandy. For some reason I fail to understand a lot of women I know give me that same treatment. What's a sweet ol' boy like me have t' do t' get along with vine-ripened women?
