  1. Congrats to jahoadi and john who have reached a milestone of 18,000+ cache finds!
  2. Hmmm...wondering what I did to end up here? You ever notice that whenever he gets himself into a hole, ol' Harmon grabs a shovel and starts digging? But wait, there's more ... What did I do? Denice hasn't seen the "ol" comment yet...Wonder if Jodi has seen it yet? LLOT I thought you were discovering you're inner Renaissance with the blacksmith course. As far as Jim, I have no idea.... Actually you hit the nail on the head, so to speak, but it's a rather difficult thing to explain. Stay with me on this .... First of all I've been reading many of the old literary classics since buying an Amazon Kindle, something like twenty-six books since mid-December last, and once seeing the image above I thought that it captured the essence of European peasantry as depicted in those old classics such as Great Expectations, Crime and Punishment, Les Miserables, War and Peace, and others. Well then, one day while Geocaching I learned that James of LLOT fame had much to do with development of the Amazon Kindle. So when I first viewed the image above ... noting European peasantry, the Kindle, the classics, and thus by association James of Kindle Whispernet-chip fame the idea of altering the image clicked. I kid you not! You can surely see how it all ties in ... like a spock mind-meld, yes? So it was an easy leap on my part to realize that adding James's face to the image would serve as a subtle, though obscure, tribute to my pal James. That leaves the matter of associating Jim of KWVERS! with the image and with the literary classics. To me that's much too obvious to dwell upon so I leave it to your imagination. Finally, to remove all doubt about the authenticity of the tale as told above I am in a position to say that it is entirely true in every detail because I made it up myself. Not to worry ... really, I'm O.K., honest I am. Note to Self: Probably shouldn't mention that my granddaughter is the world's shortest blacksmith. 5. Hey Everybody! The Fat Cats have completed the San Bernardino County Thomas Guide Challenge!!! We are so happy for them! read all about it! Visit Unknown Cache San Bernardino County Thomas Guide Challenge http://coord.info/GCRGNP
  6. Today's weather was cool at Sweetwater Resevoir...We were sure that the snakes would be inside but what do ya know...I came within 4 feet of a rattler stretched out across a rock only 7 feet from a cache...I moved the snake with my walking stick and boy howdy did that snake get mad!!! At first the snake didn't look too big but when it started winding up it seemed that the snake would never end coiling up...It rattled a good ten minutes and put on quite a show...we got a picture of it and it can be seen in our gallery..first one that we have seen this season!
  7. He was a super nice guy full of energy. Rest in peace, Carl. We had met Carl when we first started geocaching...He respectfully beat us to one of our first FTF attempts...There he was bent over looking in the bushes...Up he stood and his smile captivated us....We didn't participate in the MTRP war games but watched in awe as he and others out did one another....The cache hidden in the storm drain under Navajo had his name on it....We will miss him for a short time...So glad that his finish line was victorious!
  8. Score that!!!! Way to go. the next challenge may be to find all the Arbusto's!
  9. Congrats Champs! WooooHooooooooo!!! Good gosh, those two need adult supervision. You know what kills me? Were Denice logged that "...our found caches in San Bernardino County already exceeded 2,000 ..." Lemme see: 21,653/5,201 = 0.24 ... now I've slipped below 25% of their find count. I'm gonna go lay down a while and think about this because surely there's at least one Geocaching statistic where I'm ahead of those KWVERS! rascals. Wait, what about total Forum posts? Since the crowd has defected to FaceBook then surely I'm way out front in Geocaching Forum posts but I notice that Forum posts don't seem to count congratulations-wise. That's O.K., don't worry about me, I'll be fine. I don't need no stinkin' congratulations. Harmon SD Rowdies Note to Self: Jim and Denice ... my Geocaching idols. A BIG CONGRATS TO HARMON ON NOT KILLING HIM SELF GEOCACHING JUST ALITTLE BLOOD,  ADD DANCING GIRLS HERE:   Be careful out there!

That said, Jim and Denice, I pledge to accept one-half of your Geocaching find-count as a means of assuring that you won't have to wait in line at the Golden Gate when once you are called home to that glorious Geocache in the sky.
