  1. How do you fit something bigger under a lamp post skirt?! theres big ones here. a large coffee can will fit under them. It wasn't so much about the size as it was the fact they are hidden in lamp post skirts. Around here there are so many of them. They are not in cool spots, just in Target, Walmart, Walgreens, etc. parking lots. It just gets really boring to get to the GZ and find that it is yet another LPC. They are everywhere here. There just seems to be no effort in hiding a pill bottle or film case in a LPC in a busy store parking lot. Just saying. That is just my opinion. I am sure there are some people who love these as they are easy and great if you are about the numbers. Personally I would like to see some interesting and creative hides. We are about the hunt and experience, not so much the numbers. Not saying to not hide LPC but you asked "What do YOU want to see in new geocaches" and that was what I would like to see. :-)
  2. Didyou really need to even come in here and post.....a negative comment at that. If you don't like it, why bother even checking this thread out.....just move on to the next. DANG! What is up with you negative folks?!? Ditto!! I am so sick of the negativity too!! As far as my CacheMobile....mine is the typical mom minivan. No pics though.
  3. Yeah.... And he is rubbing his back with his tail!!! LOL I say what what .......
  4. I LOVE poker. It is a dream of mine to enter the World Poker Series!! I don't see a lot of other women playing so I am willing to change that!! :-) As far as the contest, I would like #54! Thanks!!
  5. Ok, that is seriously AMAZING!!! Sure wish we has creative ones like that around here.
  6. My favorite so far is "Hootenanny" by kvenator. GC30V47 Kvenator's caches are always so much fun to hide as he puts a lot of effort and thought into each one and they are all creative and unique.
  7. My hubby told me about it several years ago. I didn't quite understand it at first and thought it sounded dumb. It wasn't because I thought it was a geeky thing because I am very geeky. I think he just didn't explain it very well so I just didn't get it. Fast forward to a month ago. We were planning a trip and were driving from Kansas City to North Central Iowa and then down to Orlando. Then back from Orlando to KC. With three young kids (10, 7, and 2) in tow I was thinking of ways to make the drive a little more fun and exciting. I had come up with lots of activities and games but then geocaching popped into my head for some reason. Did a bit of reading on it and it sounded perfect for our trip. Of course when I brought it up to hubby he said "I told you about this years ago". LOL. So, we attempted some local caches without the kids first with not much luck since we had no idea what we were looking for. We did end up finding two close by so decided to do a few on our way to Iowa. It was fun. So when we got to Iowa to pick up older two kids from grandpa we told them about it and they were very excited. We did a few there in iowa and ended up doing many on our two day drive to Florida. We were hooked! So after our two week vacation and spending two days driving home we jumped in the car the next day and spent three hours out caching around home. LOL. Here we are and we aren't going anywhere any time soon!! Now have my parents hooked too.
  8. Christian Geocachers here from Kansas City area. We were even thinking of doing a multi where we give versus to read from the bible to find the number in that scripture. Then when they have found all caches and all numbers they will then have the coordinates to the final. We thought about hiding these at various churches around town. I am sure we would get a lot of negative from people. Why can't people just ignore the groups and caches they don't want to be a part of. It's not like they have to do every single one.
  9. I am a newbie but have noticed this problem with TBs and GCs and the such. One thing I have noticed is a good majority of trackables I have encountered "missing" were last logged in a particular cache anywhere from a few months ago to a few years ago. This means that one possibility is someone picked up the trackable and didn't log when they retrieved it. In this case there would be no way of knowing who retrieved it and therefore nobody to "notify" with an alert. This would only work if the person who retrieved it actually logged it and it was placed in their inventory. I have also, just this week, retrieved two trackables that haven't been logged in in quite some time and were not logged into the cache we found them in. One is still listed in possession of a cacher and the other is still listed in a cache a few states away from us. I don't think the only solution is an alert. If you will truly be heartbroken or upset that yours has gone missing then only send out a copy instead of the actual trackable. I have picked up a "copy" of a coin and this is a good idea. Another idea is to include a notification explaining what it is you want the finder to do with it. I have also seen this done with a little note in the bag with the trackable. Have also seen this done a better way with a hard plastic case attached to the key ring the trackable is on with a printed insert in the case. I can send a picture if someone wants to see what exactly I am talking about. Yes this will add some bulk but it is an option. Just my 2 cents. Take it or leave it. Also, I am buying trackables for each of my kids and ourselves and we will be sending out "copies". I will come up with a cool way to copy it to make it more fun for the people who find it instead of a laminated photocopy. My kids would be very upset if their real copy went missing so I am just nipping that problem in the bud from the very get go.
