Ok, could you please explain to the geocaching community worldwide why all these issues occured at the cache pages? For the time being I have seen no messages from HQ or lackeys at all in the threads about the website bugs. Geocaching is a major hobby for many of us, for you it's work as well. I hope to geocache for many years to come.

It would be nice to know whether it was a technical failure or someone who pressed the wrong button. In any case, something to learn from for HQ.

Why? What would you do with this information and how would it help you? Just curious, what is your favorite development platform?

  2. If by "forums feature" you mean the button that says "View Forum Posts", it will display your forum posts.  Since you had none there was nothing to display.  Since you have made a post it should show that one but there might be a lag time for it to register.

    Jusr for you:

Hi.  Is there a Garmin device that supports adding longer text than "Found it"?  Where I can enter a long text, log, that I always use to log the geocache.  Well thank you.

I looked at a couple of your logs. If you would limit you comments to finding the cache you wouldn't need such a Garmin.

  4. I usually check the forums at least once a day and check for "Unread Content since last visit."  It's not unusual to be presented with unread posts that are several months old.  Today in the thread about web cameras, the oldest one presented as unread was posted in March. In addition there were 5 or 6 subsequent posts that were not presented until something happened to trigger the system to offer the posts today.  Can some explain how or why this happens?

No, I had him adopt it.  I get what you are saying, but I didn't see any 'and they own your cache'.  So I call the police... I can prove it is mine... there is no document transferring private ownership of my property. I guess when someone is a greedy steward of your cache, these things get complex.

That seems unnecessarily harsh. You mention there is no documentation of the transfer. What ownership document do you have?

  6. Gee, mister property owner, we are sorry we violated your property rights but you need to understand that we have internal practices that don’t allow us to help you for at least thirty days. Should you need any additional information please use the terms that we use. We don’t delete caches because we want to maintain a record of illegal caches along with our other cashes, so please use the term “archive.”  BTW, I have seen caches retracted in the past.

What the hell happened to common sense?

I have a geocache near a school here's what I've done to help it not be muggled:

Added Bell Times to the description

Proximity issues with a cache to a school have nothing to cache safety. It has everything to do with student safety.
