  4. I'd like to see a cache downtown Toronto that uses 3000 ammo cans at the base od the CN tower but only one holds a log book. Hehehehe!!
  5. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...a0-24bd55888b3f Look at Zoly's log for his visit to Buzzard lake. it looks about 17 km and it took him 8 hours to hike. then if you do a search of cache near Buzzard lake there are the trail marker caches that Zoly left along the way.
  6. This is a posting to see if there is any interested and crazy cachers looking to attempt the Kawartha Bushwacker Series and hike to the Buzzard Lake Cache, this winter Probably Jan or feb via shoeshoe. No date set yet but just seeing who is interested and we can pick a date from there. Could event hold a event at a local timmie's in peterborough or lakffield and carpool to the parking coords from there.
  7. Happy Simcoe Day!!! Too bad we couldn't have done the marathon this weekend.
  8. That would make a great sea kayak trip around the lake. I am sure there is crown land camping on some of those islands. But a PWC would be quick to zip around the lake. and is the lake freezes solid it would make it perfect for snowmobile in the winter.
  9. Yah! I am in a vehicle now. I will be carpooling with Northernpenguin and Fizbot from the westend. I have a seat confirmed in the Nox for the event along with the oficial event photographers Northernpenguin and Fizbot.
  10. Have not heard of a short bus for this years event but is sounds like we won't have one. sounds like there is enought veicles this year.
  11. The 18th is good for me. I just looked at the new proposed route there is only 17 caches which I have done.
  12. oops forgot to post site link http://www.uud.info/en/
  13. I found this site from another post in the GC forums. But it is for Garmin. BTW I am also headed to Japan in July.
  14. I am think of getting a Plam treo or palm t/x. I like the treo cause of the keyboard but I also like the t/x with it's large screen. my current palm uses the on screen keyboard. which is fine for me. The treo is nice. I have been looking at some on ebay, saw alot of 650's and 680's there are a few 700's. I am with Rogers wireless GSM. I am wondering if all unlocked gsm treo's will work with my current rogers sim card?
  15. the 18 th is good for me but I just need to confirm the that the ohio event is going tobe on the 25th weekend.
  16. Yeah you forgot the the nice little kitty with the white stripe. It smelled as thought it needed a bath though.
  17. Oh yeah and what happened in Petersburg stays in Petersburg!!!
  18. So far the dates tha won't work for me is july 6-15 (will be in Japan). after that I am open. and there is a ohio event on aug 25. I have aug open except for one weekend. June is ok for me right now. Looking forward to this years event. I try to show up in time this year.
  19. Yah but it turns the lamp post micros from a 1/1 to a 5/5!!!!
  20. I cache all year round. either using shoeshoes skis or snowmobile . Plus there is no bears, bugs, poison ivy, a lack of muggles, etc, etc.... The snow adds for that extra bit of challenge on some caches. snow sometimes adds a few stars to a terrain rating. night caching in the snow geodogs love the snow more importantly canoe only caches turn in to hike into caches when the lakes freeze.
  21. thanks for the info, We are looking going july 7-13 . and hiking Mt fuji during the week. Not sure if we will be renting a car? how hard is it to get a international drivers licence? for my PQ I just picked two points on the japan map. and did a search for caches with in a give radius. It gave me all the active caches for the country.
  22. sorry I just looked and Japan now only has 621 caches I am hoping was can find a few and not have too many DNF's
  23. There are three of use from Canada planning a trip to Japan. to do the mount fuji virtuals I did a PQ for japan awhile ago and found there was 982 caches botu when I filtered out the active caches it was only about 400 or so. We will definatly look into the day pass for JR. can any one recomend a good spot to cache any way. I think we will spend time near Osaka and Toyko , with a trip to do virtual on Mt Fuji.
  24. I never thought of the data fees for the black berry. using the gc sit to access caches while on the trails would be expensive. I think I will just go with the Wifi pda like the palm TX . Thanks for youe input.
