i just need the apple music app and geocaching and adventure apps and a few others . i use whatsapp for oru family group chat . i wouls love the 8 pro but i find it a little too big and it is a bit to expensive for me right now .

yeah going from iOS to android will be the hardest part but i have heard it is not too going with a pixel phone

I have a iphone 12 that is up for replacement under a two year contract and i am looking to replace it with a google pixel 8 can get a better deal on the pixel 8 right now. Just wondering if others use a pixel 8 for geocaching app and adventure lab app does it work well for caching an adventure labs the google pixel 8 looks like my best option for a new phone on my budget.

To answer elertroqted's question of if a canoe will fit on top. I was at the cottage this week sitting on the deck and had a wacky idea for a geocaching event. It could either be over a long weekend or a week trip, with a event sometime over the course of a week. Basically the idea I had was to rent a houseboat and cruise the trent severn waterway. hunting cache on the way. Looking at doing this next summer and I am looking for suggestions. The rental and lock fees are the biggest cost. Looking at using Happy days house boats located in Bobcaygeon, Ontario. The rental is cheaper in the off season like around late May/early June. Just want to see what people think of the idea and if it is worth pursuing this.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I noticed that all of a sudden I no longer get notification e-mails for visits to my caches or visits to caches on my watch list. Just resently as I was going to load up my new BB with caches close to home. The Pocket query ran ok but it was never sent to my e-mail inbox. Nothing has changed with my e-mail account or my geocaching account. Not sure why this is happening?

I have e-mailed another cacher in Portland and I was told that the Tunnel where the APE cache was did not open til junes last year so I am throwing out another date to see who can make it. New dates June 22nd to 29th I am flexible on these dates but sometime around end of June.

this sounds interesting I would love to visit up there again. I have been on the Polar bear express a long time ago. Would love to do it again.

I have been wanting to plan a trip to the place where caching all started for sometime now and as I am close to my 3000th find (186 caches). I thought that a trip to Geocaching Mecca would be perfect. No date set yet but I was thinking of sometime early to mid spring 2009. Posting this to see who else would be interested in making the trip as well. Was going to base around the Portland area renting a car and head out on day trips caching (lots of caches to do around there. Thinking of either a hotel of one of the nice Hostels in Portland. The main goals of the trip would be: 1. Original Stash tribute Plaque (GCGV0P) 2. Mission 9 Tunnel of light APE cache (GC1169) 3. Mt. St. Helen's - as seen on TV Multi (GC2EA1) 4. All Cool Cachers Log DNF's here (GCWCMG) 5. Groundspeak Navigation 101 (GC13056). I have this puzzle solved and confirmed coords 6. if there is time Maybe a visit to the Groundspeak office Plus a chance to log some old active caches with a four, five and six digit GC codes

Now that I think of it Milestones was abit on the expensive side and it more caters to business meetings

I still mark my milestones bit I only try to do challenging caches for milestones or some interesting multi's or memorable caches. OK OK I did log My 2600th at a Wal-mart micro during a 24hr marathon, but it was a memorable moment. I have been caching for 6 years now and I don't care that I am only just coming up to 2800. I think a milestone evenat at milestones would be perfect. I have been to the one Mississauga At dundas and 403. I think they would be able to accomodate a large group. if I can do 207 more caches I can celebrate 3000 finds with you.

The longest hike for one cache that comes to mind was a event hike. There was a Traditional micro at the end. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...=y&decrypt= The event hike started out with about 14 people and only four completed the entire 52.3 km in one day (14 hours of straight hiking). There were caches along the way but I had already most of them found them. I think I only had 6 logs for entire 52.3 km. But technically the event was to hike to the end location and find a micro, which I did do. 52.3 km in one day is a pretty significant hike for any one. Yeah that is a great site. the cache page gives a little bit of info but nothing about the site. that is a great area to hike in and it is a historic Ontario cache since 2002. I would like to know more about it to. Perhaps the owner knows more about it.

I was reviewing a few Jamaican caches to preparation for my vacation there. I noticed this cache http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...=y&decrypt= Correct me if I am wrong but one of the original geocaching rules that has been implimented since geocaching was started has been that in no way is a cache to be BURIED. I realize that this cache has been active and found by many people who have had to paid to get it. and the cache page does tell you how to now where to dig.

I was geocaching in Japan last year and I have a Garmin 60cx and downloaded some free maps similar to the ones on the link below. http://www.malsingmaps.com/wiki/index.php/Garmin_GPS_maps The link I used is no longer available. but these maps work with mapsource. mostly detailed for Toyko. Which is a awsome city to explore and cache. three of us had garmin 60cx's and one legend c and we did not have to change any setting they all worked fine. We did about 32 caches in tokyo and the mt fuji virtual.
