  1. Family Hodge struggle to nav the net , so its paper for us, one day i will catch up or just continue enjoying my os maps, its a tactile thing.
  2. Had ours for 2 years and its not bad at all, can loose the lock under heavy tree cover which can lead to a bit of running around , but at that price its a steel. I like the fact its so small and can be hidden in the palm of your hand when muggles are around.
  3. And there's me thinking I'm the official Chorleyese translator! As I lived in Lancashire for years n years til somone decided to kick me into Greater Manchester , I think I can take the title Hazel hehe....and having a 19 yr old son who is reet broad spoken does give me an advantage LOL But I could do with some help with Bobs accent! Ar bay gunna av that , Bob spakes proper dow E . Ps love the logs .
  4. Its either a big cat or Dudley Boy now has 2 torches to help him out when on one of his many night time FTF
  5. I had noticed one of my caches was becoming a little short on swops? so a week later off i go to do a little maintience and top it up and some generous cacher or cachers had top it up with swops (Thank You ). I often leave a little something if a cache is short of swops. So i think it must be good Caching Karma. Hodge
  6. I had a log entry a few days ago, took key ring left Travel Bug, seems like a fare swop , except i dont think it was their TB . I have the following note on all of my caches that have swaps in them - Travel Bugs are the property of the person who has released them. Therefore I do not count them as a swap item. Please DO NOT take an item in exchange for any Travel Bugs that you may wish to leave in this cache. It still doesn't stop trading down, but it does appear to stop people taking something and leaving TB's in its place. Good advice. a will start including something similar in my caches.
  7. Well done you I hope you realise, we all want your phone number now so we can rely on you for a PAF when we go looking for it and get stuck Sorry but i recon only Funlovinggeocacher can help you out. Of course this also depends on how much red ive drank when asked. Good luck HODGE
  8. What great Caches. I have some catching up to do. As for the original Question, I say let your imagination run wild.

  11. I had a log entry a few days ago, took key ring left Travel Bug, seems like a fare swop , except i dont think it was their TB .

  13. Now those i would like. May even use them to cache with
  14. Alfie has to be walked all year round as im not allowed to put him in a box for the winter . So anytime off year is a good time to Cache. Warm summers days , or crisp winter days . They all have something going for them.
  15. What a great idea. I have had 2 weeks off signed by a GP to say i have a bad back , so any log entrys in the last 2 weeks must have been another member of Family Hodge . Anyway you need to keep active when you have a bad back my physio says so.
  16. I take a couple of readings while out on recce for a cache location , another couple the next time i go out to set the cache and then again when i get V(WIFE) to try and find the cache . All on different days or times of day (you cant rush a good thing). Giving me at least 6 reading to average out and so far so good. GOOD LUCK
  17. Go on show them how its done , and then you will have to admit to being a pro . Good luck hope you get FTF
  18. Sorry to hear that you have been attacked by a dog, and for the second time. I hope you heal real soon. Dont think this will help, but here goes anyway. I used to be a cat person and had loads of prob with dog . Never bitten but very close. Since ive had a dog i dont seem to have any probs even when out running with or with out Alfie, You just have to get use to them something i dont suppose you want to do at the moment. They are wild animals and the owner responsibility and i could not be with out mine. Get well soon Hodge
  19. I dont think this is strictly true as a recently checked on one of my own caches and it was full of nothing except a log book . It had started out it life with 8 items. lets make it a fair trade not no trade. I can see the appeal of micros if this kept happening.
  20. Shape, shine, shadow, silhouette, sound. Pass me the cam cream im going in I love the smell of DPM in the morning, it smells of victory. But please no DPM bags they are just as bad as plastic ones and end up with their own eco system with in.
  21. It states on the Cache page if its a micro or not , so the choise is left up to the Cacher to do it or not. Even in rural areas there is sometimes a crevis or hole in a tree crying out for a micro. Although i have only used these as part of a multi leading to a final cache with swops in it. I think a micro does need more thought than other caches as i do get pleasure from a cache contents, we all play the game, sport, past time in different ways for differeny reasons. Im just glad to be part of it .
  22. Near by caches on the Clent Hills Clent eastwood Bill Clenton Not mine but great cache names
  23. Thats the one. sorry for the spelling mistake . V(wife) is the brains in the outfit.
  24. Sorry to be dumb but what's a peri whistle? I carry a whisle - an old habit from mountain days of yore. Its the orange type with out a pea in it.
