  1. How have you got them? I've got none with my existing account!!! Bugger I guess I'm just wonderful, that's all.
  2. You should have said so earlier, another two winging their way from much nearer than China, or Leeds!
  3. Chuck 'em in the round filing cabinet in the corner of the room (the bin). You have enough junk cluttering up this room without leaving bits of scrawled on paper lying about the place, and while you're at it, the car needs washing, that shelf in the pantry you promised to mend in 1984 is still wonky and don't expect ME to hoover the cat, it's your animal..... Ooops, I think I went off on a memory tangent there for a minute or two.
  4. BRODIT BRODIT BRODIT ....everytime. Well engineered and made to fit each model of car specifically. For my car it listed 3 options for the various airvents. Clips on and off relatively easily for out of sight storage. No glue or screws to damage your car. No rings on your windscreen. Brilliant. Cheers Dave My car isn't listed, they have the last generation (05) Civic, not the new one. There is nothing 'standard' about the interior, i wouldn't risk getting any one in the hope it may work, I have attached a picture of a LHD car to show what i mean. I think i will just stick it to the screen when I want to use it... If I put one over the vents, it may stop the CD player working... That's no cacher's car! Where's the mud, bits of grass, pencil stubs, those shiny bits of paper off the back of plasters, empty bottles of wasp-eze etc etc? Or is it just me that drives around in a mobile bin? (No comments from The Mars Bars required here, thankyou very much! )
  5. And a big congrats to The Mars Bars who are far too modest to mention that they busted the 6 at the same time. Well done chaps and chapesses.
  6. I've found recently that I have had to write the post then copy it as when I send it the first time I get the error message, paste the message and send, it seems to work the second time. Good luck!
  7. I had loads of problems with AOL and their e-mails from Geocaching, I opened a googlemail account and my PQs having been turning up daily and on time ( having said that, one disapeared today but I can live with that). Re AOL, this morning I had waiting for me, get this, 232 e-mails, all from Geocaching, and some were notifications of somebody finding caches who has been out of the country for over a week! I believe that it is a swine of a job to get shut of AOL as its workings apparantly infiltrate the darkest innards of your computer, I'll stick with them until I buy a new pc then I'll move.
  8. My Parents - the Sandiway Searchers were tipped off my Miss_Butterfly 2 weeks ago that there was something dodgy near one of their quite remote caches - The Wirral Pub Crawl.. the Wheatshef. They went to inspect it and found a large block of cannabis, which the Police reckoned had a street value of £3,000. I did suggest that I'd be able to sell it on for them, but too late, it had been "disposed of" by the Police I bet it was £6,000's worth before they "recovered" it (errr allegedly)
  9. I too found a knife, this one at 7.00am whilst attempting one of Mars Bars' Enigma series, I rang Directory Enquiries or whatever it's now called, got the local bobbies who kept me waiting for ages before asking me to pick it up and take it to my local station. I went to my local (plastic) nick to be informed that it was Saturday and shut, I then had to go out of my way to a 'proper' nick, they took said knife off me ( I was waiting for them to test it for fingerprints and dna) and slung it into a sharps box!? So much for watching CSI. CSI Miami & CSINYPDBlue or whatever, it doesn't happen like that in real life...pah! Oh, my mobile ran out of credit waiting for them to turn up to collect the knife, which they obviously never did...double pah!!
  10. Whereabouts in GSAK should I be when attempting the above?
  11. If I'm travelling down country and want to do a search of motorway mayhems etc and then also want to do a (say) 20 mile radius of my destination, can I get GSAK to do two seperarte filters then combine them into one before sending them to my pda, tomtom, gps (I'm going prepared)? I've found in the past that if I try to load two different filters onto my memory map it don't like it one little bit.
  12. Well, I don't know what was happening but it's all Tickety Boo now, just a pity it took me a day's potential caching to sort it out, ah well, better late than never I suppose. Thanks for all the advice, much appreciated.
  13. (Do have a larger memorycard than the one provided with TT) That sounds like a good alternative if I can't get this thing up and working again, what size card is required?
  14. Are you using it with "C:\" as part of the name? I doubt it will work like that, try naming it tomtom.ov2 That doesn't work, GSAK won't recgnise Tomtom.ov2 as it says the file does not exist etc. "C:|TomTom.ov2" has worked fine for me in the past so I doubt that is the problem. D'ya think resetting the Go300 to factory settings is worth a go or can this lead to problems?
  15. C:\TomTom.OV2 which is the name I was previously using with no problem. Good job it's raining so I wouldn't have been going out today anyway!
  16. I have been downloading POIs to my TomTom Go300 with no problem, this morning I tried to download a new search but new caches didn't appear, the old ones remained in place however. I repeated the following instructions several times with no success. I then deleted my cache category on the Tomtom and eventually reset the machine, all to no avail. Any ideas what my next step should be? I now cannot get any caches at all....oops! The following are the steps I have been taking, which previously worked fine. >>>With your filter selected click on File|Export|TomTom Poi File You will now have a window called Export TomTom POI Files with a total, equal to the number of caches in your filter, shown in brackets. To try and keep this really simple we will create the OV2 file on the root of your C: drive. So, in the "POI File to create" type C:\TomTom.OV2. Ignore the "Select from most recent" field. In the field that starts "You can build the waypoint...." type %Name and in Maximum characters type 30. Then click "Generate". You may see a progress form show for a brief period and that's the first part of the job done. Start Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\ you should see two files beginning with TomTom - one has the extension OV2 and the other BMP. What to do : 1. Navigate to the C: drive as. 2. Connect your TTG300 using the USB lead. 3. Open another Windows Explorer window and navigate to your TTG300. 4. In the TTG300 window you should see a folder named "Great_Britain-Map". Double click on it to open the folder. 5. Position the two Windows Explorer windows so you can see both and then select the two TomTom files on the C:\ drive and drag and drop them in to the "Great_Britain-Map" folder. 6. Turn off your TTG300 and disconnect from the PC. 7. Turn on your TTG300. The following may differ slightly depending on which version of the software your TTG300 is running. 8. Tap the screen and select "Change Preferences" then select "Manage POIs" then select "Add POI". Then select the "TomTom" file that we created earlier and transferred to the TTG. 9. Navigate back to the main display and tap the screen. Select "Navigate to..." then select "Point of Interest". This is where the software has a big difference. If you are using the latest S/W, like me, then select "POI Near You" and then select the "TomTom" category and then the cache. You may have to use a bit of trial and error with steps 7 onwards as it is S/W dependent. <<<
  17. Woke up this morning and there were most of my PQs, just a pity it had to happen in the first place and even more of a pity that I had already deleted my 24 or so regular PQs, oh well, that's the next hour accounted for I suppose....sigh. Can anybody explain how I get the PQs to download into GSAK automatically, please?(simple step-by-step guide appreciated). Ta
  18. Certainly appears to be due to AOL, I've just set up an account with Hotmail, sumitted a PQ and received a reply pretty smartish. Still waiting for replies I earlier posted via AOL. Guess who'll be moving servers when their contract is up? Any suggestion to a good service provider for broadband (I'm not on cable etc)
  19. According to the linked thread above it MAY be AOL's fault and companies associated with them as they have been blocking all posts from Geocaching.com. Has anybody fortunate enough to have an account with a different service provider had problems with their PQs?
  20. I recently watched a fire spread in tinder-dry grass at an alarming rate, I phoned 999 to be told that the fire brigade was already on its way. I'm sure that they would rather be called out at the onset for a relatively minor job than 30 minutes later for an uncontrollable blaze. Apart from the danger to wildlife think about all those melted plastic boxes left behind!
  21. That's obviously the answer, the only reason I subscribe is for the PQs, no PQs = no re-subscription
  22. I have not received any PQs for the past few days, I've deleted all my regular ones, tried new names for some I've launched today, deleted my cookies and all to no avail. Any ideas how I can get them back? The weather is beautiful and as I can't get out to loads of new local caches I've succumbed to her who must be obeyed and am stuck inside decorating, please help, these are desperate times.
  23. Normally I am pretty easy about things like this but 5 days? It's a bit much isn't it? If this carries on I shall be forced to take industrial action and refuse to complete any caches until I get up tomorrow. Night night.
  24. ...however, I'm still not getting any pqs, and as there has been a sudden and major influx of caches nearby over the weekend (many thanks, Lollybob) and I don't want to copy all the details by hand I want my pq pretty darn quick....please? pretty please
  25. Just poured milk om my cereal and noted that the container (milk container) had a warning, ""Contains dairy products" Go figure. I bought some herbal sleeping tablets, the warning on the label? "May cause drowsiness" Unfortunately they didn't.
