  1. Anyone ever wish they could search their area for TBs or coins like they do for caches? I sure do.. Or maybe there is and I missed it?
  2. I have to disagree, caching on the cape is a lot of fun. I have slowed way down due to my job getting much busier, the fact I don't have a lot left on the cape left to find and the land we used to camp on in NH has changed hands. As for the lack of new caches, there really hasn't been very many new names popping up on the cape since I joined in 2011. When life gets busy it is much harder, as I am sure you know and that makes both finding and maintaining harder. I haven't placed any new ones because I am having trouble finding time to maintain the ones I have. I hope for that to change and I get to them as I can but why place more if I cannot handle what I have.... As for cache types, to each their own. I like them all I am not 'type specific or prejudiced to any type or size and cannot see why I should give anyone a hard time for playing the game as they see fit. One can only hope more are placed so we can all continue the hobby but since I am unable to find them anyhow I am actually enjoying the fact my numbers 'to find' are climbing no matter how fast or slow. I have even been neglecting the website but the only good thing about winter for me is that it brings more time for all of it. You really can't worry about the things in life that you cannot control or you'll drive yourself mad. Mike Abby's Followers http:geocaching-capecod.com

  5. Go to cache advance (website) they have everything from fake sprinkler caches to QR codes. Best cache equipment site. Sadly sprinkler caches are illegal hides. They require a hole be created. A violation of the rules.. Sure some might exist, I've even logged a couple, but by Groundspeak rules they are illegal and should be removed...
  6. Just adding my two cents, I'm a baby in the caching world (joined june 19th 2011) but I'm fully addicted and look for ways to get more involved in the hobby all the time, outside of looking or hiding. Unfortunately work has been getting in the way a lot.... Anywho... I've seen many a cache that, while it wasn't buried, it was inserted into the ground. It has spawned many an idea in my head since 'it wasn't buried' nor did any of them require a pointed object to place it or retrieve it. Before moving forward with any of my ideas I directly called Groundspeak to inquire about the caches I have found just to be sure I was 100% clear on any gray areas of the rules. No I didn't give them names or cache IDs, I just described the things I've found. I have found sprinkler head caches and see them for sale on websites. I asked about them specifically and they are illegal hides. They require a hole. You CAN make an impression in the ground and place a container in it, then camo it with natural camo but anything that needs to be pounded into the ground or a hole created in order to place it is an illegal cache. Back to the drawing board for several of my ideas but I welcome the challenge. I love hides in plain view and it's actually just as much fun coming up with them as it is finding them. I may or may not have helped but I just wanted to add my two cents since it's easier to make a spot to hide something rather than find a spot to hide something. Good luck to you Furnache.
