  1. I changed my internet provider yesterday and have been trying to update the (fully functioning) new address on my Geocaching account. I've put the new address in and received the request to validate on tht email address but the link supplied says redirecting but goes no where and does nothing. I have had o problems with any other site.
  2. Thanks to everyone for your help. I have Emailed the reviewers privately. It is not fair or correct to critise any members who spend a lot of time working on our behalf. I have corrected the listing. There were problems with 2 of the series, been like it for months.
  3. That is highly likely as I seem to have fallen out with a few cachers, probably for telling the truth in the logs. Thanks Spannerman, have you noticed we have spoilt your clear Dartmoor again.
  4. No, I have nothing ignored. Never mind, if others can see it that's all right.
  5. Where is the ignore part of the listing as I cannot see it.
  6. I am the owner of the Alphabet Challenge series of caches, I have noticed that the Alphabet Challenge K cache is not shown in a search of the listings. It does appear in my account list however. I have asked a reviewer by Email if he could help but have had no reply. I don't seem to get reviewer help when I ask for it. Can anyone shed any light on why a cache is not listed when it is still active, it also is not downloaded as a pocket query. Thanks.
  7. I use Cachemate/Cachenav. Cachemate is great but Cachenav is not. Cachenav keeps freezing the compass, speed and distance or any combination of them. This occurs with both Pocket PC and the Palm versions. This is a shame because it's a good application. I will now look at other apps now I know are some. Because of the Cachenav problem I use the UK Ordanance Survey Map OS5 and 1:25000 maps on an IPAQ HX4700. This gives idea navigation for finding the paths and tracks etc, just use a Bluetooth GPS and that's it.
  8. No it's not me as the problem is on 2 PCs. It worked until recently. I emailed the server owner to query the upload situation.
  9. I bought a Holox BT321 Bluetooth GPS on Ebay. The size of a match box, works indoors and in the car and sends the NMEA data to a Palm Tungsten T running Cachemate and Cachenav. Put the GPS in a pocket and forget about it. Great combination, very sensitive and a possible 32 available channels. Seems daft to spend loads of money on a flash GPS unit. Also works well with Tomtom Navigator 5 or Memory map OS-5with a HP IPAQ. Actually the Ordnance survey Memory Map 5 with 1:25000 maps is really excellent with an IPAQ. Yesterday we found ways of getting across Dartmoor we would not have found any other way.
  10. I am unable to upload any images to found caches. Is this a problem with the server and does anyone else have the same problem. I get a server not found error message.
  11. Does Email destroy good manners or does it have its own rules? Am I the only one fed up with having my Emails ignored or is this endemic? I ask this question because during the last month or so I have sent Emails to a number of local cachers asking for GENERAL advice about their caches. In every case I have been ignored, this, I believe is ignorant behaviour. If cachers don't want to help perhaps they could say so on their cache page, or have the courtesy to say it is not their policy to help when asked. Does anyone else have experience of this?
  12. Thank you for the info, I will get a 1GB type from Ebay. Regards from Cornwall.
  13. Hi everyone, This post may not be strictly about GPS but is sort of related. I am connecting my Garmin Emap to a recently purchased Palm Tungsten T PDA. My query is; does anyone know what is the largest SD card that the Palm will accept. Thanks, windrush team.
  14. Thanks for your help, just need to re-visit 2 caches in the series as GSAK lost the entries I made as the lock was not enabled when I updated the database. Such is life. Regards to all from Cornwall.
  15. I have a Garmin Emap I purchased for £75, from Ebay 2 years ago. Amazing machine, great screen size and works really well. Maybe the techies would sneer at such an old unit. I use an external aerial which I tuck under my coat collar for bad locations. I have yet to see another model that is as good. My opinion anyway. Windrush team.
  16. The cache is missing/lost so I dont see how asking for help is a problem if it not to be replaced after 5 months. I did contact the owner who promised to send the the details I needed bit failed to do so.
  17. Can anyone help with the cache, [The Cornish Quest: Cadsonbury Capers] It appears to be dead since November 2005 and I need the locator details from the cache box to carry on with the Cornish Quest series. Regards from the Windrush team
  18. Hi I,m new to this and wondered if one of you could put me right. I am not sure if this is the correct place to post this. I have entered my home location in GSAK v6 but all LOC waypoints imported show 6800+ miles from home when the Home Icon is clicked. It should be no more than 2 miles for any of them. I am at a loss why this is. Here is a copy of the location page, ======================================== # locations # Name, Latitude, Longitude, MaxDistance (optional) # # examples (valid if # is removed) # note that either of the following 2 formats are supported # Home, N50. 50624, W4. 25674 +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Is this entry correct? Regards from Cornwall
