Surely this because the 60c, as opposed to the 60CS, does not have an electronic compass. As soon as you start moving, it should sort itself out - I think!
That's the one! So, the letters have no navigational relevance. They are similar to an aircraft registered number, counting in base 26.

I cannot find a way to enter a waypoint other than opening an existing mark and then editing it. There must be another way surely??
Second problem is that when I try to use a route in my car all goes well until I get the final prompt to 'follow road' or 'off road'. In spite of the fact that I am sitting at a point on a road which is on the map, I get a message that 'there are no roads at the starting point'. I can use the 'off road' option, but it then cuts corners on the route. Any help appreciated.
As a complete novice to geocaching, I cannot get my head round the GC.... waypoint names. I am very much 'up to speed' on Lat & Long, grid refs, datums etc. Please throw some light into this dark corner of my mind.
