  1. Actually I was just wanting it for myself than anything. I'm really enjoying finding these in historical areas in my town and just would like a little more light shown on this hobby. Nate
  2. I know that bench-marking is not as popular as Geocaching but I would really love to have an icon in the stat-bar that shows my list of finds. Anyone know of how I would go upon getting this request to the correct people? Thanks in advance. Nate
  3. Thanks for all the help! I actually was able to match up two of the benchmarks as ones that are already on GC.com but the other three that are exactly the same I added to the Waymark sight under U.S. Benchmarks. Is there any reason why there would be three of them that are exactly the same in different locations? This seems like it would screw up anyone using them. Thanks Nate
  4. Hello, Anyone know if there's an Intro To Benchmarking page made up or something to help me out? I've seen a few like "8205 U" or "1929 ADJ NO. 19" and I'm confused what that means. I started last week and found a few but today I found 5 on a bridge and only one have your typical ID number. The others are exactly the same and I'm not sure how to log them. Thanks for your help. Nate
  5. Hey there, Is it to late to be apart of this trial? I just got into benchmarking and would love to try it out. Thanks Nate P.S. I'm using an HTC Inspire Android.
  6. Hello, I've been curious while looking for a GPSr so I didn't have to use my smartphone while caching but I noticed that there doesn't seem to be any kind of antenna "strength" in the specs. Is there an actual difference between one versus the other? I realize that the maps will differ but is there a way to see if one has better strength to get a more accurate location? Thanks Nate
  7. Hello all, I've been caching for a few months now and like most of you, I'm addicted. I've begun making my own caches but I'm finding that in my area there's a huge amount of caches that have about 10 DNF's and the owner seemed to abandon them and doesn't archive them. My main concern is that they were in great areas around historic landmarks in our little town and I've been trying to focus on those areas to show others our hidden gems. I apologize if this is a common question but what exactly do we do if there's been over two years of an actually find and the cache is actually no longer their? Do we have to wait till they're archived by the owner or can we contact someone else to get them taken off so those areas can be used again? Thanks for your help. Nate
