  1. I recommend that you read the pinned topic at the top of the forums on making coins as it describes in detail the requirements. It is fairly easy, I just got codes for a handmade coin and design approval is quick if you follow the guidelines. If you want to make several designs, i recommend drawing them up together for approval. In all it took less then a week to get design approval and codes.
  2. I don't see where the system is broke, therefore I question the value of trying to fix it. Geocoin and trackable rules may be loose but that is not bad as it allows for creativity and pushing limits which seems to be in keeping with the game. It's just a game.
  3. Try http://www.geocoinclub.com/code.php. Look for CAT(Korat) about 1/3 down the page
  4. How about this travel bug if it is in the cache (I picked it up today) http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.as...24-4cf650888579
  5. edited to correct several conceptual errors: on user profile pages, the geocaches tab, the Wherigo cache type does not show the little * noting the cache counts towards "* total caches found" Simple addition shows that they are being counted but it did cause some concern by several cachers that thought that the caches did not count towards their totals.

    Approvers

Is there a special approver for the Wherigo caches, or is it just the normal regional volunteers?
  7. I have a couple of the Jan'06 signals, Trade? Wow, has it been almost two years on this coin! Nate (nmartin)
  8. They are Salem Oregon cachers, very honorable.
  9. What is the most DNF's by one cacher on one cache. I am up to five on one (Micro revenge), although I have looked many more times.
  10. There are a bunch of different handmade sig items like coins. Odder does a very nice filo clay coin. I am currently playing with fusible metal (low melting point metal) and building a small furnace to melt brass, there are the geotiki's as already noted in this thread, and precious metal clay for one of a kind items. Some cachers use wooden nickels or shrinky dinks. You might also try polyurthane resin casting (smooth-on offers a neet sample kit to reproduce item in resin/plastic) Be creative and although this crowd here might like coins, there is no need to follow the pack here.
  11. I am interested in orange, but can we get some details on numbers to be minted and cost range.
  12. Still looking.... Let's try again, please send me your trade list.
  13. Which Pink number are you looking for, #69 or #17157. There is a SAGA meeting on the 15th Either one will do, I'm not picky.. Right now I'm planning on attending, but I wont know for sure if I can make it till a few days before the event. If I do attend I'll be bringing my trackable coins and my extras if you, or anyone else wants to do some trading. Whoo hooo, trade in progress
  14. Which Pink number are you looking for, #69 or #17157. There is a SAGA meeting on the 15th
  15. try contacting them through the PDX Geocaching group http://pdxgeocaching.com/
  16. Stopped by PDX today and saw a log by TGF...and I was off. A quick check showed TGF also visited two other caches, one lead me to the home of a old friend (sorry I did not stop to say hi Jaybee, but I did not want to miss the change of the third one with the first two already claimed ..If I had read TGF's log, I would have known one was for you). Finally, success at the third cache as I retrieved #105. Whoo hooo
  17. What is a SLAGA?...do you mean SAGA (Salem Area Geocaching Association)?
  18. How do we activate these, I know which site, but can't get it to register
  19. edited...looks like trade will happen with only a minor delay. Thanks to those who helped pass on the info.
  20. Currently, Minnesota, Oregon and South Dakota do not have trackable coins or coins at all yet. Slightly incorrect. There are Oregon geocoins (one of the first produced was Oregon), and they were trackable just not at GC.com.
  21. Nice...but does anyone really spin a pointer or flip a coin to determine what type of cache to go after? I have a spinner to show who pays for the beer afterwards that is very useful, but cache type is normally: A. What is newest, B. What is closest, or C. What puzzle have I just finished. Spinning anything (except for who buy the beer) distracts from this simple logic
  22. I have a moving cache that had been grandfathered from under to old rules that had allowed it. I just sent it south, but can no longer update the coord's. How do I go about keeping this one in play (GC9D2E) and updating the coord's?
  23. Yup....this looks like nmartin's handy work What's it for? What should I do with it? I seem to be following him around, picked up one of his coins the other day too. Don't mean to be a shiny object hog, I'm heading out to New Mexico next week, so I thought I would pick up some items to bring out there. Hey...I did that. The first letter on the back is a "2" (two). It is a hot potato to move around Salem Caches (see TBRRE5). If it is heading south, I will start another.
