  1. Cannot access Dashboard. Getting the 500 error again. Windows 10 OS Browser Firefox running most recent update Google also with the most recent update Same Glitch also happens from my phone using Firefox or Google (updated on both there as well) My profile links to the Original Dashboard. However, I had also changed to the new one at one point and saved a link that way as well and neither worked. Since it's only a link and I still generally use the Original Dashboard, I am unsure if that is why I get the error both ways. Either way, I recall last time it was mostly those using the Original Dashboard that were having the issue. So, again I wonder if this is something they are trying to phase out and if so could they at least tell us this? OR put it to vote since the new Dashboard is terrible in the way it's laid out.
  2. Exactly! The new Dashboard is horrible. The layout is cluttered, and not well presented. It's difficult to get to the things you do quickly without extra steps for some of them. Pretty sure that there will be a 'hot debate' on this though as there was a significant increase in users after 2020 that joined and were immediately presented with the "new dashboard". If they are trying to "retire the old one" seems like they should have better prepared for it. 1. Warn the users that in X number of days they would not be able to use the older version. 2. Have all the behind the scenes stuff taken care of before they go breaking things so that it's a seamless switch and just automatically move people over to the newer version. 3. Since they gave a choice when they created the new dashboard, and never said the older one was going to be phased out, they should have put it up for a vote by users if they came to the conclusion that it was too much a load to run the two Dashboards side-by-side. If they are eliminating the original version I'm throwing my hat in the ring to say this is a bad idea as the new one is at least a half a dumpster fire if not a full one, LOL
  3. It's happening on WINDOWS and ANDROID versions as well Windows 10 OS Browser Firefox running most recent update (Firefox 123.0) Google also with the most recent update (123.0.6312.22). Same Glitch also happens from my phone using Firefox or Google (updated on both there as well) I am still using the ORIGINAL version of the DASHBOARD as I never bothered to change over, so I'm not sure if that could be the issue or not, but as I cannot actively access the DASHBOARD, I cannot even change it to see if it would make a difference. And I 2nd the please FIX this. It's preventing me from working on an unpublished cache.

  5. Dear Groundspeak, can you return the ability to post animations from within the site rather than having to use off-site locations which as it turns out breaks! Just asking
  6. The only problem I have with this is I PAY for the Google increased image space, but don't for Dropbox which means I cannot switch to my DB account as I need that for personal stuff. But thank you for posting that it works with DB.
  7. Thank you for this information. This could be a problem as I don't pay for OneDrive, but do for Google, which means I'd have to switch to using OneDrive. My puzzles may become hot-linked or static. bummer

Could be a probability considering some of the same questions that show up over and over again, "why use a GPS instead of a phone" hasn't that been answered a 100 times in a 100 ways, hahah, or the what do I do when I find it questions, and the many other questions that seem to be over and over instead of just reading the actual website for "how to play" or the 100 other people's questions that asked the same thing. Lazy and not paying attention has ruined it for the ones who "know how to play" or know how to read. It's disappointing and if it's the reason, then maybe instead of removing it, they should have made it come up with an alert. It already did say it would publish, but maybe a "proceed" alert so that would fix it. It doesn't just affect the puzzle person if you use it for placing trackables that would happen on all cache types.
  9. Defeats the purpose of intended use. If it's part of a puzzle, then you need it to be there before it publishes. If it's a trackable that you want to make sure you log and it posts as soon as cache publishes so that the FTF know there is a trackable (maybe you didn't see the notification come through as quick as FTF) then those reasons need to be addressed for it publishing in a note BEFORE not after it publishes.

  11. I have the same issue with images that previously were displaying correctly and posted in the Bug section as it seems to be some kind of glitch. I Posted a note on my cache page telling people how to access the images needed to solve the puzzles until this can be resolved. Animated Gifs Broken Bug Report
  12. When GS made a recent update it affected the way you create a cache page eliminating the ability to post a NON-reviewer note. Reasons for the request: 1. Often times people will use the NOTE to place a trackable in the cache (that way they don't forget to log it when the cache actually publishes. A good way of keeping trackables moving and placing into a cache that is fresh and going to get activity. 2. Puzzle makers sometimes use it to make puzzles or notes that apply to the puzzle 3. Sometimes it can be used to tell the FTF extra information, but not necessary for future finders once it becomes buried in more logs 4. Sometimes it's a way to hide additional hints (the hint section isn't big enough or too much text would become confusing and the note section can be numbered or written in sentence form more clearly) There might be other ways it was used, but those are some of the ways I have seen it used and used it myself. I was disappointed to see this feature removed. I wonder if I am the only one? I would like to see it returned. Thank you.
  13. I have a number of puzzles dependent on (generally simple) animated gifs for solving. Several years ago when Ground Speak removed the ability to have animated images hosted through GS, and no longer allowed off-site hosting with the exceptions of Google Drive or OneDrive, I made sure to correct all pages needing the animations. They have been working fine, but yesterday I noticed that everyone of the animated images does not display. Only a broken image link or the alt text shows on the page. The animations are still functioning on Google Drive, and they will display if one right clicks and opens the image in a new tab, but they are NOT displaying on the actual page. I tried to contact GS, but it said to come here first. So, any idea what is going on with the images? What changes? caused this break? I wish the mod would have moved my question over since I didn't know this thread existed and tried to find something similar posted, but yeah, same issue on multiple browsers and even after a cleared cache. It's been longer than just Thursday for me. At least a week and a half maybe 2 weeks. Hopefully it gets resolved.
  15. When in the "search area" you used to be able to switch between the map overlay type: Geocaching (default), Google road Map, Google Satellite, and a couple others. Lately I can only access the Geocaching version. The link for choosing the others is there, but clicking on them nets nothing. Not sure when it stopped working exactly, but at least 2 weeks now. I have cleared my cache, no change in behaviour. I've used Firefox and Chrome, no change in behaviour. Has something changed or was it a recent update in Windows that is causing a conflict somehow? My last OS update was 9/13. My last browser update was 9/12 for Firefox and in 9/21 for Chrome. So, one was before I noticed the issue and one was after I noticed the issue. Anyone else notice this behaviour, or know how I can get it to show the overlay properly again? Thanks!

  17. Don't know how you figured out that trick, but thanks a billion! I spent loads of time creating a puzzle gif that I couldn't get to work even though I kept trying all kinds of things in my Google drive. This information was exactly what was needed! Thank you!
  18. @Max and 99Thank you! That's why it did show and then didn't when I deleted my log. That makes so much more sense, though it's still a very strange set up, LOL. Appreciate the help.

I did both, switched it to private and then clicked on the test thingy (it asked me to delete the test when I came back to the computer too), but either way test or private, they now don't show on my profile as created, but weirdly the total number of caches I own includes them, like the numbers don't match the total is exactly the 5 lab locations different. ? So, that's the part that seems like a "bug" that it shows as no AL created (there's one of the original Lab way back when we were gifted a Valentines one, but not the Adventure Labs just created a couple days back). They were showing. My count was 6, now they don't show it's a count of 1, but it's active as Public. confuzzled
  20. Okay, is this another glitch? After deleting the logs of my own AL (when it was in test mode), it oddly also deleted them from my ownership on the Geocaches own section of the profile. Like they were there while doing the test, then I deleted them from my logs and changed from private testing to public, and now the profile doesn't show them anymore? It shows the correct total number I own, but under Labs, it doesn't show them at all? You'd think the bugs would have been worked out by now, am I missing something?
  21. Thank you! I just did a test run on my AL and came home to log a cache I found after the test run, and couldn't figure out why the number was off until I checked the AL. Even though it was in test mode, it logged it. That's dumb! Thanks for confirming when I deleted it won't come back. That seems like a flaw on GS part -- your own AL should not be logged.
