  1. Funny thing is I was watching his videos on youtube when I clicked over to check out the forums. The first thread I opened was this one and I have been reading from start to finish. Honestly I see his videos as spoilers to figuring out certain cache containers (but I expected that from his name). There is a really good chance I would be able to at one point or time head to England to cache (since I am in the Air Force)but I don't believe that any of his videos would spoil anything for me due to the fact I wouldn't remember them from watching them now. As for looking them up and trying to find the answer or location of a cache, there are many ways for people to do this if they want to spoil it for themselves. I won't even get into the arguement about legal rights and all that since it seems to have been settled. I just wanted to put my thoughts into this. I enjoy the videos that you have put out, and I would hate to see you remove them. They have given me several hours of enjoyment on my spare time. Also, have given me some great ideas for the future. I am trying to change the fact that we don't have very many creative hides here in my area. We have one person that really seems to go out of his way to hide creative/difficult hides and I love them. So for me this just helps get my creative juices flowing. Since you seem to have permission to show the videos I would keep them coming. As with anything in this world not everyone is going to agree with you, but no laws are broken so keep them coming.
  2. Surprisingly here in South Carolina I haven't ran into any snakes (knock on wood). I have read log after log of other people running into all kinds of snakes but either I have been lucky or I have over looked them. Hopefully I have been lucky and not the other. If I am overlooking them I guess that I am lucky I haven't been bitten yet.
  3. I actually placed my first cache on property that is state owned and is public property. However, it is a very narrow stretch of land. I put a note on my page stating to stay around the historical marker and and not venture too far left or right of the marker due to private property. It is a stretch saying this but I just wanted people to be aware of where they were walking and poking around. In reality they have probably 40 or 50 feet to either side of the historical marker but I just wanted people to follow the obvious trail to the site and then head back out. I think being very specific in a cache description is key to keeping people safe and off of private property. Here in South Carolina there is a very fine line between shooting someone for trespassing and saying you feel threatened. If I were a property owner in SC (the area I live in) I would be a bit nervous of something illegal going on, on my property. So I would be very aggresive to keep people off. As a side note there was a civilian that works for the Air Force here that shot and wounded a man for breaking into his truck on private property. The civilian was according to the police protecting himself and his family and cleared of any wrong doing for shooting the guy. I know this is far from where this post was going, but I wanted to put in my two cents on property lines and I guess the extreme of what could happen in certain areas. So no I believe in your original post you stated were you being the cache police. I believe you were in the right and I would want to know as a CO if I were too close to someones property.
  4. I have a question on this as well. I found two caches on the day and I still have not recieved my souvenir. Were there certain types or something I needed to go after, or will it show up at some point?
  5. Interested in the smokey mountain coins. Are they still available and are they are unactivated or activated? Also, what are the cost?
  6. I have had some luck turning the unit off and back on and then selecting the cache again. This has worked two or three times for me. Not sure if this is even a good way for everyone but it has worked for me these last few months. Good luck and it sounds like some of the other peoples suggestions are good ones as well.
  7. I am extremely bad when it comes to hobbies. I have a million of them and the list just keeps growing. Caching is my newest one and I have already spent over a hundred buck just for this in accesories not to mention all the gas my big Nissan Titan drinks while searching.
  8. I can't say that this wouldn't be a bad place to hide something, as long as the owner/property owner knew of it. But the worse one for me was on an ATM and there were numerous ones around. After looking for a bit one night I felt like I was in the wrong so I left. Three days later there were a lot of comments about being yelled at and having the police called on them for being suspicious.
  9. Mine actually comes from the fact that no matter how much I run I still seem to get some sore muscle, somewhere on my body after a long run. So I started using this on other forums and it only felt natural to keep on using it.
  10. So mine was today. While out riding our bikes around a 6.5 mile loop I kept running into spider webs. I can not stand these little guys but I was doing ok just wiping them off and moving on. As we were finishing up the loop I hit one that was so large I felt it hit me in the head. After looking like a ninja for a bit I decided he wasn't on me. I had set my sun glasses on my bike tire like an idiot and took off. After getting back to the truck I realized what I had done. Also, not me but my poor wife took a nice fall while looking for a micro (in the wrong area)at the moment she fell a walker passed her and got a good laugh.
