  1. I am all over the board when it comes to time before I call it quits. I would say I average about 20 minutes before I give up, but several factor affect that: ~Weather - I hate being cold so I spend much less time during the winter ~If I'm cranky - the moment I start feeling flustered I walk away ~Muggle Presence - More Muggles equal less time
  2. Can't we all just get along? Seriously, there seems to be some people that look at this as a turf war. While I don't like the idea of defacing public property (which both 'camps' can argue the other does) or munzee's giving away geocaching locations (which I've never personally seen but wouldn't like if I did), I am a huge fan of any positive activity that gets people's noses out of the TV and into the outside!
  3. I know I shouldn't care when people couch log, but it drives me freaking nutty. I am not a big enough person to not care. I am relative noob and only have one cache hidden, but I will delete any couch logs that make their way to my caches.
  4. Thank you all very much. So much awesome in this community. And I probably shouldn't admit it, I am an LT Type (O3).....but I was an E5 back in the day
  5. Thank you all for your input. -I know that there are a lot of caches in Afghanistan but the long and short is I can't leave post to find them and there are none on the base that I am on. -Cache placing is strictly not allowed anymore. Turn over is so high that no matter how many people you tell you are placing it, someone will stumble upon it, not know what it is, and the base will be shut down because of a found unidentified object. -I love the idea of hosting an event! I don't know why I didn't think of that. I am going to get on that ASAP. Thank you all and I look forward to further discussion. Happy Caching!
  6. Hello! I am hoping for some input/advice from fellow geocachers. I am on a military deployment in Afghanistan for at least the next six months. There is no options to physically geocache here (I can't leave the wire and placing geocaches is a big no-no). How can one stay involved? Are there virtual events or anything like that that can keep me connected (short of staying active in the message boards). The idea of going six months without a find makes me a little sad! I look forward to the discussion and Happy Caching! Nicole aka WarriorScholar
