  1. Got back on Friday. Apparently (according to a bloke in the Marisco Tavern, so therefore must be true) they banned physical caches because they were causing confusion when people were looking for the letterboxes, but finding caches. Bloke in pub also mentioned they wanted to keep them safe, but as they're looks to be one near the edge of the Devil's Limekiln (a very long drop very nearby) not sure how accurate that is. Would recommend a trip there to anyone. We were lucky with very good weather but a very very laid back place. Brings a new meaning to the old song "We're busy doing nothing." as plenty to do, but only if you don't mind it not really being that consequential. We'll definitely be returning.
  2. Ah. Many thanks for the clarification Mrs B. A bit strange though that they promote letterboxing while banning physical geocaches.
  3. We're off to Lundy Island on Saturday and were looking forward to grabbing the caches there. It seems though that all of the physical container ones have been archived e.g. http://coord.info/GCJGPW The archive log says "This cache has been archived at the request of Lundy Island land management. Please retrieve the cache container as soon as possible. Contact Geocaching HQ with questions." but we're too late to do that now. Seems strange as the letterboxes there are featured as one of the reasons to visit: http://www.landmarktrust.org.uk/lundyisland/discovering-lundy/activities/ I wonder if they've been shut down as well? Does anyone have any background on what the problem is?
  4. Maybe try not doing the ones you don't enjoy?
  5. Splendid. Cache page has now been edited.
  6. Disqualifying myself by having looked him up in wikipedia, but are you talking about him having a big nose?
  7. Is it the book called Divrei-Hayamim bet or as the western gentiles say Chronicles two?
  8. Hi Wandering Islanders and welcome to the forums. It does seem sensible to me that reviewers don't receive anything for a NM. They'd be swamped with 'log is a bit damp' ones. My view would be that if an NM gets ignored then an NA is required.
  9. Hmmm. As we're back in the land of maths.... what's the formula to calculate the volume of a sphere?
  10. As you say, a couple of typos but not enough to stop you getting the DEENG.
  11. Thank you. The three (non fishy) actors who starred in the film version of Jaws were who?
  12. Thank you. Frank, Jack, Joe, Arthur, George, James and Charles. Who?
  13. Do socks count? If they do then Father McKenzie doing some darning in Eleanor Rigby.
  14. From what I can see it seems to me to be mostly confusion and that both you and the CO are trying to do things right (although purposely posting inaccurate co-ords should definitely not be done). It is possible that you have found another cache. Maybe one that was there, has been archived but not removed? (The final location of a multi or puzzle cache would also be possible but you don't look to have many of those around your area and that would also be breaking the minimum distance rule as well.) You could think about sending the CO a message describing the container that you found to ask if it sounds correct.
  15. Interesting responses. To be honest I wasn’t really wanting the cache to be archived, but I couldn’t really think what else was appropriate. I do like Amberel’s suggestion of a RA option. For background, when we tried to find it, none of the logs we'd downloaded mentioned that there was a problem. We spent around 20 minutes looking for A, in the company of another couple we ran into who also spent about 30 minutes trying.
  16. You guys have noticed that the previous two NMs had been ignored?
  17. Great stuff. You have that right. Many thanks.
