  1. quote:Originally posted by urbo: car alarms are a joke eh?? ever heard a police siren? ever heard the electronic BONK BONK airhorn in a police car? try ignoring that. the siren boxes are available at police supply stores for about $100, the speaker is about another $100..... URBO I was referring to a car alarm, not a foghorn from a lighthouse. Car alarms are constantly going off, so much so that I wouldn't even turn my head if I heard one going off. If you have to after market you after market car alarm, then you obviously know what I am talking about The KGB
  2. HAHAHA I didn't even notice that. I thought it seemed odd that someone would want to "wander" around there with an ammo can! OOPS The KGB

  6. If you are flying over there, you may notbe able to do this, butwhy not record the coordinates of the area you are flying into. Nothing too accurate but a general idea of where Vader flew into. When you come back, maybepost your track on a map or on a aerial photo and post it as a picture and see if Jeremy would edit the log to indicate the number of miles traveled. 7. I just carry Seems to work very well, it may disturb the little innocent sleeping deer and such but it's great when trying to reach someone that would normally be out of range of one of the fancy ham radios or walkie talkies! The KGB
  8. Captain Leno, Is there anyway you could post the instructions or maybe email them? I see where you said you would do it for free which was very nice, I just don't know when I will be getting to Inidana from Florida, but instruction would be much appreciated. The KGB
  9. I have a better idea. Why don't we only make certain caches elligible for medals. In other words: If you want your cache to count towards reaching a goal of say 100 finds. It will be listed under a special page. Everyone has access to that page but the person that hides the cache will pay $5.00 to the website to have their cache listed. These Golden Caches will be used to accumulate 1 find per cache, and it will be those "points" that will be used towards your goal of getting apin. It may even increase the traffic to those caches. OR Maybe make them available to members only, this may really anger some non-paying folks, but hey it's just an idea. I think there should be a medal for 50, 100, 200,350, 500, 1000. 50 is a lot for a lot of people, it's not easy finding the time to do this. Just an idea The KGB
  10. Why get so complicated, you don't need a heat gun and a razor, it's much more simple than that. Get a large sledge hammer and smash the windshield. Find the shattered remains that have your sticker placed on them. Take the remains and don't worry about cleaning off the glass. Get a roll of duct tape and tape the chunk of glass with the sticker onto the new windshield. Hot gun and razor....sheesh!! The KGB

  12. It is odd, at some of the parks around here, youy will see a lot of men in their cars in the parking lot. One will have his car facing out, and the other will have his car facing in and will be one spot away. you definately have to be prepared for this kind of stuff. I don't know what these guys are doing but something tells me that, they aren't breaking into cars, I think they are there to meet Mr. Wonderful Have you ever thought of placing an old Web Cam on the dashboard with a sign in the windsheild that says "This car under 24 hour surveilance(sp)" People are scared to death of cameras, car alarms are a joke. When awa the last time you heard a car alarm going off where you thought, oh my gosh someone is breaking into that car. Well thats my 2cents worth. Make them think they are on video. The KGB

  14. You want to learn more about the original Geo-cachers? Lewis and Clark is a story that you have to know. These guys went where no American had gone before, navigating and making maps along the way. Years later it would be shown that of all the miles logged, their map was off by only 40 miles. They traveled 4,000 miles, so 1 out of every 100 miles ain't bad when you consider that they used primarily dead reckoning. I would highly recommed this book to anyone who wants to see what America started as and to hear a story told by the travelers themselves, all 40 or so of them. This is my favorite book, I am sure many of you have already read"Undaunted Courage", but if you haven't please pick it up, you will thank me for it! The KGB
  15. I wonder how many times the authorities would be called, when they see strange people messing with the underside of your car. I can see the FBI and Bomb Squads coming out because someone said someone was planting a car bomb. The KGB

  19. we were so young back then, and a little tired after defeating the most powerful empire in the world, no not Canada. the war of 1812 was a stalemate anyway. So in a way you are correct, it's not hard to jump on the bandwagon and kick a man while he's down, but thats ok. I would say it would take maybe 2 weeks to do it now and most of that time would be spent converting currency. The KGB
  20. I always like the cache logs that say...... Took 7 carat diamond ring, left 7-11 cup with hole in the bottom. The KGB
