  1. There is a Quikie Mart about 4 minutes from my house that I go to a lot. One of the things that they sell in that store are Cheese Puff Cheetos. Now a bag of these things cost next to nothing to make, mainly due to the massive quantity that they produce. I routinely walk out of there with a handful of them without paying the clerk. There is a gas station at this Quikie Mart and we all know how evil the "big oil companies" are, so when I grab the cheetos, I toss them in the passenger seat and fill up my car with Premium gas. Hell its the same gas as the other but they make so much moeny off the premium I figure they dont need the money. So I fill'er up and take off down the road. Now while driving in a full car and eating cheetos, I start to get thirsty so I will run into McDonalds and ask for a glass of water, its free you know. I will empty the water and walk over to the Soda Fountain and fill up my cup. I usually drink the first glass quickly, and fill up a second one and then head off to the car.

I would love to know where all of you guys work, I KNOW that the place you work makes too much money and I need some more free stuff, so please let me know.

  2. I think that on the inside of the Cache box you should write a 4 digit number. The person who finds that cache must write that number down and enter it into the found log as a way of verifying the find.

This would be a fairly simple thing to set up. A 4 digit field is entered when the cache is first hidden, that same 4 digit field is used to verify a find, and only these can be use to accumultate a total so that you can get a pin or something by your name later on.

  5. I will say one nice thing about the Canuks....and only one icon_biggrin.gif

I saw a show on the discovery channel or some such about making coins. when they got the Canadian gold coins,I think it said that the process that they put it through makes it almmost 100% pure gold coin. The detail and beauty of the coin was fantastic. It said the Canadians take great pride in making their coins. In the US it is mainly a cookie cutter type of coin making, but hell we have so much of it,we don't have time to sit there and take a day per coin.....hahaha I couldn't resist....

See ROB mrcpu I CAN give credit and say something nice about the Canadinas!

    CANADA HAS A WARSHIP??? icon_wink.gif

I have a better idea. Why don't we only make certain caches elligible for medals.

    In other words:

If you want your cache to count towards reaching a goal of say 100 finds. It will be listed under a special page. Everyone has access to that page but the person that hides the cache will pay $5.00 to the website to have their cache listed. These Golden Caches will be used to accumulate 1 find per cache, and it will be those "points" that will be used towards your goal of getting apin. It may even increase the traffic to those caches.

    OR

Maybe make them available to members only, this may really anger some non-paying folks, but hey it's just an idea.

    I think there should be a medal for 50, 100, 200,350, 500, 1000.

50 is a lot for a lot of people, it's not easy finding the time to do this.

    Just an idea

  8. The video, Journey on the Corps of Discovery" is very well done. Someone else mentioned the amount of food they had to harvest daioly, I think they each consumed 9 ppounds of meat a day. Imagine that 40 people eating that much food, because they were burning so many calories. The food was so plentiful (for a large part of the trip until winter) I think he said at one point that the buffalo must have numbered 10,000 there were more than the eye could see, and deer were absolutely everywhere, it was their Garden of Eden...

  9. Jeremy,

I have a suggestion for the homepage. When you go to www.geocaching.com, I think there should be 2 boxes on there where you can enter the Waypoint ID or the "name" of the cache. This way you have an easy way to search for caches espically when trying to find them to log them in. Or maybe have the search page that you have now, have a quick link to it. It seems the way it works nor is you have to go to your zipcode or coordinates then click on the link to search for more geocaches.

  10. just an Idea:

Maybe if there was a page dedicated to this idea, it may work.

If mailing TB's is not appropriate then forget this post.

What if you were to pick up a TB in Florida and you had a friend in Ca. Could you mail the TB to him or her to stash on the left coast. My thinking was that when you find one you could look on the message board and see where to send it, in other words get it out to someone who may actually place it in a new cache. Everyone doesn't have to do this. I don't even know if this is a good idea, maybe its not, oh hell I don't know.....

  11. I have posted a few things and I am sure that I popped them today, almost sure that is, and there have been additional posts after mine but it didn't register.

It may be that I forgot to do it, but is anyone else having this problem?

I was referring to a car alarm, not a foghorn from a lighthouse. Car alarms are constantly going off, so much so that I wouldn't even turn my head if I heard one going off. If you have to after market you after market car alarm, then you obviously know what I am talking about
