  1. Huh? I'm not sure everyone knows what you're talking about. Do you have a cache link that will bring at least myself into understanding what you're doing?
  2. Of course I'll help. What do you think I am? A cold hearted, snob?! Don't answer that!! Anyway, teaming up is a huge value in breaking super hard puzzles. Nudges can also be useful when you're stuck. And for the record, I never said WHEN I'd be placing my next code cache... just WHERE. It may take me a year or so, but I will do another one sometime/somewhere!
  3. Keep it up Ladies. Just keep it up, and I'll place my next code cache so near your home, you won't sleep for weeks! It's good to see interest in puzzles in CVC. It will help for this years 'Activities' which of course starts around the holidays (and takes teams of people to solve). I couldn't believe it last year when Wolf Grrl was not able to get one of the drops - which would have earned her an Order of Venona (that's a RARE Geocoin plus permission to solve a RARE Geocache plus Bragging Rights). I sure hope no one makes that mistake again!
  4. My boss pointed out that it wasn't ''Non-Labor Day'' nor ''Day Off Day''. At least everyone else still had fun.
  5. The banners I borrowed are in the hands of the 2 Fers. You remember them don't ya? LOL. Ya, I remember most everyone in CVC. What I don't remember is where I put my GPSr and I hope I removed it's batteries before letting it sit for so long. If Mrs. 2 Fer has it... I'm guessing she'll return it with some of her famous 'missing cookies.'
  6. For : Ride the Bull Note to Super Grrl: The minimum age for bull-riding is ...........6 ...Because if anyone knows about 'bull', it would be Photom. Last I saw the CVC Banner I think was at Tom's event at the lake. I hope he didn't forget it there! This thread is rather old and was the leader for number of postings for the first few years of Geocaching. If everyone in CVC were as gabby as the old farmer... it would still be the un-contested leader too.
  7. Wow. I replaced Dew A Water Dance a few days ago and verified a Puzzle cache too. With any luck, I'll be able to verify/replace Bar None before the holiday.
  8. Are we talking monday as in Labor day monday? Yes I'll be working [surprise!] but if this goes into the evening... I'd be there.
  9. Heck, I found a Geocache in deeper water than that and got it while free diving with about 6 feet of visibility! But I digress. My question is this. Why would anyone waste their time making a 'water proof cache' that they intend to place into water? The condensation alone will rot a standard paper log. We use Rite-In-The-Rain water proof paper. I had a sheet in my fish tank for a month and would pull it out, sign it and drop it back in when people inquired about it. The paper I use is the 'cheep' stuff and I use a laser printer so the ink is set on it. Good stuff. Oh, I think you should post your 'find' (or take/keep) on the nearest Geocache log to be fair to the person that really owns that cache. If they don't reply in a month, feel free to place it over here in CVC because underwater caches don't scare us!
  10. Oh my... I'm on my way to the PD to drop off this post. Better stay away from the southland, Mr. Bill. They have your picture. Say hi to your PO for me. Tell him I don't miss him.
  11. Now I feel obligated! Let's see... how about a micro under a table held on by gum in a donut shop?!
  12. Has everyone turned to facebook and the new web site?
  13. [Gasp] That's Radikel's cache. You can tell by her name she would never...
  14. Akem... Looks to me like the Log Sheet was unharmed (in the video at least). Could it be they actually missed their point blank shot?! BTW, I understand that one of local Geocachers (>5000 finds, >100 hides, 0 bomb squad inquires) met with these police to educate them in Geocaching (and let them know there's more than two caches in Merced). We haven't heard back from him since. [Oh, well!]
  15. Hummm. Can't say I've ever seen this cache (nor any others that have been shot). Regardless0, another fine example of the bomb squad saving a bush from a potential terrorist! Oh, I think I heard a challenge but I could be wrong. Just kidding of course. We really don't like them wasting their time nor explosives on our caches. In fact, it would be nice to talk to someone if it would help them. There are boat loads of Geocaches in Merced - I'd say in the hundreds. I'm sure they out arm our caches but not our McToys! [Freeze or the Travel Bug gets it!]
  16. I would plan on Wait Until Dark. You need to start the hunt after dinner - when the sun goes down (duh!) but it's such a fun adventure. Hope you enjoy your holiday.
  17. Umm, what Greg is sayin' here: "Chillen, I can't find a bunch of caches and would like someone who has better geosense that I do - to help me."
  18. Darn it. Missed the event but was back in town in time to catch the tail end group caching afterwards. After our first find together, I spotted some new cachers. No one else thought they were but I left my card on their vehicle anyway. Turns out they are... Welcome to CVC LambChoppy! BTW, Who in samhill would name a cache 'Out in Plain Sight'?!
  19. If I lost my Garmin 60CSX, I'd buy another (after I stopped crying of course). Under $300 now I believe. Feel free to send me the extra 100. You may not be wealthy beyond anyone's imagination... but compared to a US Farmer?!
  20. Yep. A statue; a monument; a sk8 parc; the jail... we've got something for everyone. We've even got a building that you can take your gun inside and shoot it! Talk about servicing people's needs.
  21. Ya, Photom get's to meet new people every day... if you know what I'm saying. I noticed Geocaching has a new feature (which I'm not sure they've released yet) to help cachers find/book hotels. It includes Geocaching data around the hotel and such information that one of us would be interested in [when choosing our vacation destinations - LOL]. Take a look at this CVC centered Hotel. To find more, look at this US Map.
  22. I agree with Kenny on those old caches (they're not Members Only btw) and will add that darn near any Ron Streeter is well thought out. [sniff, I miss him playing but know he still maintains his works so I guess he's not all that far gone. LOL] Here's my Top Ten List. I know it has 11 but that's because one's an archived virtual which I think was so informative that I left it when it was bumped. As far as drug related finds... I have found their trash a few times. I know someone reported they found a pipe near one of my caches once and asked me what to do... akem, Call the police. Which reminds me that one of my friends once found a few bricks of meth that was at a interstate highway rest stop. He always reminds me that I may have found more caches than he has but he's found the most drugs. Anyway, man did he get a load of attention when he called the local keystones and they said it was 'too much for them to take the report' so they had to call in some keystones with bigger guns [or whatever]. It appeared to be a drug trafficing station and my friend's life was in grave danger - until the police arrived and started accusing him of being involved. Never mind the fact that he called them. [Duh, yep]. Lucky thing for my friend was that after hearing his 'story about Geocaching' several times, one of the highly trained (and well educated) officers found the Geocache a few feet away from the drugs. My friend signed the log before leaving but couldn't log the find, in fear of the dopers being a little rattled over losing a few hundred thousand of their product. My most clever find... I could tell you but then I have to [you know]. It was last month though and not far from CVC.
  23. Well, I think one of the great things about Geocaching is that everyone gets to set their own standards on what they will and won't do. For me, standing in the middle of a parking lot and lifting someone's skirt is shameful. I'd rather drive off without a find and often do so when I realize it's a skirt. On the other hand, I'll work endless hours talking to an AI (Euclide) or hike the highest mountains (Burning Bush) or solve the most impossible cipher (Deep Thought). [i know several of you are bummed because Deep Thought wasn't placed in CVC. Take it up with Fizzy because I took enough heat when I placed GACC III on the edge of our stomping grounds. ] These are adventures to me. I already know what the underside of a skirt looks like and now they're just a black eye to me! BTW, Welcome to the group Chillin209 and Arrow42. We're always glad to see more people in CVC.
