  1. I was thinking of revisiting this spot tomorrow. There used to be a geocache there but it got archived. It is a very cool spot! There is a new multi by Lake Hodges and a new cache in Kit Carson too. I know it's rare in the GC world but I was going to sleep in and then go caching. So I was thinking of heading out around 10AM. I have some junk to do at home so I would need to get back home around mid-afternoon. That sounds like an early morning to me. hmmm, work on your radius or mine.... Rogue already let me know I have to be home by 3-4 in the afternoon or else....
  2. Sounds like fun! Maybe we could meet in Ramona around 8:30AM......Maybe at the McDonalds....Lake Jennings is the wrong direction for those in North County.... We can have two groups: the sophisticated kool cachers from the south/east; and the smelly, beer-guzzling, bratty, hairy, boisterous cachers from the north. I should fit right in with the north. Bummer...I don't fit either category so it looks like I can't go!!! jodi Won't John fit in with the north though? Just bring him with you. Anyone doing any caching tomorrow or do I just work on some hikes near home?
  3. Paul and I were talking about maybe going to the Mud Caves on 11/4 for the day. I guess there is a pretty cool cache in that area! The "Mud Cave Cookie Tin"!
  4. you should be able to make it fine with 2wd.
  5. I've been pecking away at weffriddles level by level whenever I get a few spare minutes. I hit level 32 today, and so far it is my favorite level! Very clever! NURLO!
  6. Interesting. The first four levels are a snap, but I'm afraid it might be addictive I will not do this at work. I will not do this at work I will not do this at work, anymore there is an easy way to cheat at that point though.... Just start randomly putting in letters. I think I found level 8 before closing it.
  7. - Bump - So what are the details of this adventure. I know I am going, and I hear that duganrm may also attend in their jeep. Starting at 6am is pretty early.. Where is the intended meeting place and caching area expected to hit? TA Let me know if a dog can make the trek. I plan on a visit to or from the drive to the campout. Maybe in between; it will be up to the other "!" members. Ginger would have no problems with Tomb Raider. The Basilisk on the other hand would require a dog harness and a pulley system.
  8. may not be snow but the wet weather is supposed to be coming today.
  9. I still have a few M&M tubes as long as I get to see where you place it.
  10. Not at Eastlake or Chula Vista on Broadway. I cheched paint and sporting goods and even asked the friendly associate at both stores. They just looked at me like I was stupid . Oh well I have found my supplier . Cammo tape has been hit and miss for me at the different Walmarts. It seems only certain ones carry it and sometimes they don't have it. I think the store in Parkway Plaza has had it almost every time I went though.
  11. That thing is 175' long! I have seen movies that show how radiation can do that.
  12. wait till BBB, "lostguy", and jahoadi and john are done before going into there. I'll/we'll go with you!!!! You need a MTB..not a beach cruiser like Richard. We can go on foot or bike. I know all the shortcuts. ( just kidding..there are none) Not this weekend though "cause it's the ride with Chuy! and "Lostguy". At night would be fun!!!..it's scary out there though.... Ps..we'll never be done I am thinking in 2 weeks or so.. cool.. Probably hiking since I am also bike challenged. There's alot of us out there that are bike challenged but we do it anyways. It's almost as easy walking with a bike uphill because there are level parts and downhill parts that make it all worth it when you get to ride. try it with a beach cruiser once and see what you say about it then.
  13. wait till BBB, "lostguy", and jahoadi and john are done before going into there.
  14. Then where? or should we try another location? where I said. Across the street from the cache. The cache is on the bad side of the street. You shouldn't have a problem seeing the parking. There is always a line of cars along the street there.
  15. Parking is ACROSS the street from the "Parking for Woodywoodpecker" (GCNHRY) cache. I would not recommend trying to cross 67 on foot during rush hour.
  16. There are 3 trails that go in from 67 (one over the peak and then the ones on either side of the mountain). They all meet at the backside of the mountain. You can pick 2 of them and make a loop out of them. If the plan is to do it at sunset, my suggestion, would be to come back over the peak and down the paved road from whichever side trail you pick (probably want to pick the one on the east for elevation reasons though). Whichever trail you don't do initially can be done with 2 cars by going from 67 to Lake Poway. You could get them all done in the same day if you hiked all the way around the mountain and then hiked up to the top and down. I need those 7 new caches DRM put on the south side of Woodson. As Trailgators said, I wouldn't do both trails the same night. I have been out on the majority of those trails at night and they are not a problem as a night hike. My recommendation would be to take the trail on the north side of the mountain before sunset and then come back over the mountain after dark. My main reason for recommending this is because you walk behind houses on the north trail and you probably don't want to hit this area after dark...... http://img.geocaching.com/cache/log/b642f99f-53b2-4511-a78f-60c8e2734003.jpg' alt='b642f99f-53b2-4511-a78f-60c8e2734003.jpg'> Some people say it is poison oak, some say it is not.... Nobody has complained about getting it after finding the cache but do you want to be the first to find out?

  18. depends on which way you plan to go. I have done the peak and back via the paved road in under an hour.....
  19. If the cache in the planter was within 150 feet of a railroad track then it would be a violation of the GC guidelines. Was that thing they found a cache? I did all the caches in old town a little while back and never came across a pipe cache.
  20. The trail past Brownies on the Move connects up to where Table Rock with a View is. I believe they were working on another trail heading to Both Sides Now but am unsure where it connects or if it has been completed (been a few months since I have been up there though). Also, just for some random info. The trail past Brownies is a longer sloping trail up whereas the trail up at TCH memorial goes up pretty quick with switchbacks. I also seem to remember there being a small trail heading north up a hill at Both Sides Now but there are no caches up there... yet... I may wander off for a little bit.
  21. yard work is bad. caching is good.
  22. The emails you get at work... I found this one pretty funny. Cubicle Song
  23. Sounds like you must have been close to MTRP.....
  24. Hi folks. I usually post for a Sunday hiking/driving caching trip every other Sunday or so, but they are usually planned on two to three day's notice - sometimes, the day before. Your best bet is to check this thread every day or so - it only takes a minute or two, and the thread doesn't turn a page as often as the SD Thread. I believe the Duo is talking about the Goodbye to Toby events where you sit around a pub talking to other cachers. Not the get up far too early to do a monster hike up a mountain.
