  1. I totally agree. I liked the cache that was way out, challenging, or just a unique clever container. I also used to like back a couple years ago, you cached in stealth....almost like it was a secret society. Now you go caching, and run in to people, and they are like "you Geo caching....that's cool it's over there" So when i plan to go out, i pick what i want to find. I want a nice hike, or quiet place...I'll go for that, if i want to score many smiles, I'll hit the micros. I really don't see Geo caching dieing out.....but the with the amount of "pointless" caches popping up, i see the meaning of cache dieing out.
  2. I don't like them either. Most are placed, in my opinion, just to place a cache, not every guard rail needs a cache.
  3. I didn't find it, it was posted after the devastation on Knoebels Facebook page. I wasn't sure if anyone else posted it on the Geo site.
  4. Lets find out who's this was, and where it came from http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/s720x720/291722_10150780122130551_207828210550_20622225_970992404_n.jpg
  5. Hello, I have never posted on here before. We have been geocaching for almost 4 years now and I like to mark the states we have found caches, but we recently visited Antigua for our honeymoon and I would like to show that on a map. The only maps I can find are state maps or world maps. State maps do not include the islands and world maps are just too big. I found Canadian province maps and even Mexican state maps, but no Caribbean maps. I was hoping someone out there had one or could show me where to get one. TIA!!
  6. this is my log for our find at (GCQC5Z) Schuylkill County Vietnam Veterans Found this one in the pouring rain at night. I looked for about five minutes, and thought of the clue. Well the gps gave me a reading of 2 feet, and YES!!! I found it. I was so happy, i ran back to the car to get out of the cold rain. Got in the car and thought, i dont remember this one being a hide-a-key, i opened the container, and thought "what the hell is this?! A small key was in it. I thought for a minute or two, and said "What do i do with this. Why doesn't it have instructions and why doesn't it say geocache on it? So i decided to put it back, and look again, well i found the real one, and SL. Apparently, a hide-A-key, is really for hiding keys not just geocaches. I assumed the key was to the pad lock on the power box. LOL Do i get extra credit for finding that? the key was actually for the electric panel padlock. I guess that's why it was hidden on the back of the unit. I guess they didn't hear about geocaches. LOL
  7. Needed to see some more grand cherokee on here. Wasn't Geocache, but this was my oops. LOL From the front it looked like i could drive out, but i couldn't. I had about a 12 inch rock that stuck up between the tire and wheel well. Towards the back the ditch was about 28 inches deep, but it was wide enough that the body didn't hit anything. It just got high centered, the length of the jeep. I had it towed out, but he had a heck of a time.....LOL Anyways, you know it's a jeep because the only damage i had were some scratches on the very bottom of the bumpers.
  8. can i search thru caches that have been archived? If so how? It's probally a dumb question, but i looked thru the site and couldn't seem to find anything. Theres a cache around my house, that was put up like 3 months ago, and now it i can't find it on the maps, or cache page. I was wondering why they took it down. thanks joel kumijia
  9. I don't like micros that are incrredibly hard to find. I like people being creative, but it has it's line. A friend told me he had to find a micro that was a thumb tack on a tree. I like the bolts, but not on a machine with 50,000 bolts. I've had some micros there were so insane difficult, by the time i found them i actually wanted to take the cache, just to be mean. they're just ridiculous. Parking lot micros can be added to the list, they are normally under the light covers, and theres usually tons of people around. My last vent, is i dont like caching in the city. It's more stealth, and most cities stealth is impossible. I've had more caches, in the city, that i just couldn't find because of too many people around. But that's just me. LOL Over all, i love to cache, wish i could do it instead of work. LOL
