  1. Hey, where'd you find it? Its a 2005 model and it seems most places are sold out of the mens model. Brian, Sent you an e-mail through the geocaching website.
  2. Hey Denali, beautiful Golden Retriever in your gallery! TEAM RETRIEVER wants to get one once we move out of town and have room for a big dog.
  3. Uh-oh, here we go! LOL! Neither team seemed to play spectacular. Big Ben definitely wasn't impressive! Now that I'm home, I can say this... GO PACKERS!!!!!!
  4. It all started here on this forum. "Mikefromtheburg" contacted me via e-mail and asked if I would be willing to trade sig items. I said sure and sent him a TEAM RETRIEVER card. Through our e-mail discussions, I learned he lives in Pittsburg and is a big Steelers fan. I told him that my 11 year old stepdaughter, "Wolf", is a HUGE Steelers fan! Mike was kind enough to not only send two of his team's sig cards, but also some sig keychain/bottle openers that said "Go Steelers" on them and some pics of the Steelers in the locker room praying. My girls (and I) loved this stuff! Well, a few days after receiving this stuff, my wife won two tickets to the Super Bowl on a radio station!!!!! "Wolf" was SO excited!!! Although a pair of tickets were selling on Ebay for $8,000+, we didn't have the heart to sell them. My wife said I could take "Wolf" to the game and the day was planned. We drove up to Detroit early Sunday morning (four hour drive for us from home) and had an AWESOME day!!! Our seats were really good and I even wore my Green Bay Packers shirt (hey, I'm a diehard fan). "Wolf" was full of excitement and neither of us will ever forget the experience. The fact that the Steelers won was just icing on the cake. I made sure and took a few pics of "Mikefromtheburg's" sig item while at the game. Mike, if you're reading this....GO STEELERS!!!! Yeah, I'm a Packer fan. But I could cheer for another team just one day. LOL! After the game, we drove about an hour south to Cabela's in Dundee, Michigan. We slept in the back of our mini-van, while parked in their parking lot. In the morning we woke up and went shopping! LOL! I called my wife after we shopped and ate lunch, so she could do an area cache search for me. Low and behold there was a cache very close to Cabela's parking lot!!! "Wolf" and I found it, snapped some pictures and headed for home. This was a truly blessed day and I just wanted to share it with all of you!!!!
  5. I just ordered the Mountainsmith Approach II that "briansnat" spoke off. It should be here in the next day or two. As soon as it arrives, I'm planning a 12 mile hike with caches along the way. Be a good test for the pack! "Briansnat" should get some reimbursement from Mountainsmith, since his review has sold a few of these packs to geocachers!!!! LOL!
  6. My sincerest congratulations to you, LeadDog!
  7. FYI... One of my micro caches was LeadDog's 499th find!!!! Where ya going to pick up 500 Dog????
  8. Gregory makes great packs. If your pack isn't hydration system compatible (that generallyy means a sleeve inside the pack for the bladder and an exit port for the hose), look into picking up a Camelbak Unbottle 3. You just slip it inside, thread the hose throught the lid and you have a hydration pack. Hey I didn't post all those!!! Well, erase what I said earlier!!! LOL! Broke down and ordered a Mountainsmith Approach II today. Got it from that link that Brian gave me and picked it up for about $60. Thanks Brian!
  9. Why did I just now see this?!!!? LOL! LeadDog, shoot me an e-mail and we'll discuss it. I'm not sure how to or where to start planning such an event.
  10. Okay, you master avatar makers! I've got one for ya. I'm going to make up some sig cards as a thank you gift for another cacher. Only problem is, I can't find what I'm looking for. I need a cartoon type worm with a magic wand or better yet, coming out of a magic hat. Can anyone help me on this one?!!? Oh, and you guys and gals rock!!!! You don't know how much you're helping us computer illiterate folks!!! LOL!
  11. Oh, and you guys weren't kidding! This topic does come up often. I see there's another thread about packs already! LOL! Brian, you ever get tired of posting pics of your pack?
  12. Thanks again guys! Was talking to a guy at work about this and he said "Well, I have one for ya!" Got this pack now. Not exactly what I was looking for (wanted more seperate compartments), but for the price it'll work. Found this description on the web to show ya. The pack is a couple of years old, but NEVER used! Gregory RunOut Backpack
  13. Well, Campmor doesn't seem to have this pack for men any longer and the cheapest I can find it is $80. It's exactly what I'm looking for though. Campmor does have the women's version on sale, if there are any ladies looking for a pack.
  14. The saddest part of the story is that I missed it by only a half hour or so! I passed LeadDog & Patrick on the road as they were leaving and I was heading into the area. DANGIT!!!!!! I would have really enjoyed sitting up in the woods watching the show!
  15. Thanks everyone!!!! That gives me some stuff to think about. I never thought about a hydration pack until now. Hhhhhmmmmm. Being in northeast Indiana (flat corn field country), I'm not sure I would need one. However, it might be nice to have if I go on some short overnight hikes in the southern part of the state. "R(eally) E(xpensive) I(tems)"....LOL! That's funny!
  16. LOL! Well, that is exactly what I did, except I only asked for a dozen. I just asked if they had any spare film cannisters that they could get rid of. By the time I hide this dozen, I'm sure they'll have more. Actually, they could have given me more the lady said, but that was enough for this week. LOL! So, in answer to your question, yes. It is that easy. They didn't charge me a dime for them and didn't even ask what it was for.
  17. I'm looking for a good daypack and can't decide on which one to get. Need some input. I know this has been discussed before, but the search engine seems to be out of gas. Anyone know what's up with that? Anyway, I'm looking for a daypack that won't break my bank account. Input?
  18. Size of team doesn't really matter. I cache a lot by myself, but it's still a TEAM RETRIEVER find. I usually log who is with me that day, whether it be the whole family, my wife and I, or maybe just the dog. Just have fun and enjoy yourself! Don't worry too much about rules.
  19. No Corgi, just a 10 week old geocaching machine (commonly called a dachshund)....
  20. My two cents... The only thing I'll trade a sig card/item for is another sig card/item (i.e. card or button).
  21. Shoot them an e-mail and they'll getcha taken care of. I had the same problem a month ago and it was fixed in no time. Despite some delays, I really enjoy the magazine and look forward to each issue. Keep up the great work gang!!!!!!!
  22. Well, since my wife doesn't like to get the mini-van dirty, TEAM RETRIEVER usually piles into my 2001 Ford Ranger. It's got the extended cab and we can fit two adults and three kids in there (all with seatbelts on too). It's 4-wheel drive and has gotten me through some snow and mud in the past. The only drawback to it is it's yellow! LOL! My wife and daughters think it's "cute". Here's a pic of our daughters at a cache site, with the yellow beast in the background (notice the Green Bay Packers license plate on the front)...
  23. Thanks everyone!!! Got it figured out (smile)!
  24. Okay, thanks! Now that I can generate the map, where do I copy/paste that into my profile so that it shows up? Be patient with me, I'm clueless on this stuff (smile)!
  25. Congratulations!!!!! I am so jealous (smile)!
