  1. Okay, I'm going to look like a total newb to this (and I am), but I was unaware of the DNR's permit requirement. Anyone post a link for the rules on this stuff?
  2. Wow! I'm in awe!!!! Congratulations from us here at TEAM RETRIEVER headquarters!!!
  3. I know I posted a picture of Abby once already, but here's another one of our 15 week old team mascot. Geocaching is so much more fun with our cache hound!!! Not counting the one time she pooped in the truck, of course.
  4. Geez, I'm addicted! I am constantly looking at things as either trade items, containers, or hiding spots. Went to my grandparents for breakfast a couple of weeks ago and noticed that the peanut butter jar was almost empty. Asked grandma if she had a use for it when it was done! LOL! Later that same day, my daughter had a basketball game. While walking through the school hallway, I noticed a pencil on the floor that had been sharpened many times and thought to myself..."Hey, that will fit in the peanut butter jar I got earlier!" Yeah, it's become a disease!!!!!!!!!
  5. Torry has an excuse, Captain. He's in the middle of nowheresville (Indy) while you on the other hand have 43 ISQ's to choose from all within a ten mile radius of the Huntington County Courthouse...I should have it so good... GOTEAM USA Yeah, yeah, yeah....I hear ya LeadDog. As soon as I find all of the caches in the woods around here, I'll start in on the cemetary caches. Might even hide one sometime! I've got an idea for an ISQ cache.
  6. "CONGRATULATIONS TO TORRY FOR FINDING HIS THIRD 1SQ!" Dang, he's catching up to our six ISQ's!!!
  7. Finally chose a camera, gang. I want to again thank everyone for the help. After checking out the two links provided in the above posts (the digital camera review sites), I bought a Sony CyberShot DSC-W5. Loving it so far. Got another question though. Which NiMH batteries do you all suggest? The guy at the store said the ones provided with the camera won't last much more than 50 pictures and they take 6 hours to charge. Any NiMH's out there that charge FAST and last much longer???? Thanks again for the help! I learn so much from these forums! Sony CyberShot DSC-W5
  8. For me and my family, it's all about being taken to places we didn't know existed prior to caching (the below waterfall, for example). Not to mention I've met some really great people. Caching has also renewed my love of hiking and provided some awesome family time in the outdoors.
  9. Hey Patrick, we like your new ride! Is that to help Lead Dog deal with the mud while getting out to those Salamonie island caches??
  10. In my opinion, I don't see a problem with it. Celebrate the things he stood for and at the same time send a message out that is important. You can always submit it and leave it up to your local reviewer. Sorry about your loss. God bless you and your family!
  11. Patrick the center of attention?!!? Imagine that (sarcasm)!!!
  12. Finally got to use my Mountainsmith Approach II in the woods. I went on a 12 mile hike and did some geocaching along the way. Can't say enough good things about this pack! I hiked for seven hours and didn't have a single problem with it all day. Took some photos and will be sure to post them when I get the film developed (yeah, I'm still in the 35mm era until I buy a new camera soon).
  13. TEAM RETRIEVER is planning on attending the Spring Picnic. Had a quick question, as this will be our first geocaching event. Are dogs welcome at these events?
  14. Patrick, you know that Abby hates the snow!!! She can't stand that stuff!! Of course, I wouldn't like it either if my nipples were dragging in snow when I walked.
  15. I didnt see a problem with the officiating ??!!!!???? I wouldn't have expected that from you, Mike! LOL!
  16. Okay, I'm new to this stuff. What's an "SD card"? Thanks for the help everyone! I really appreciate it!!!!
  17. Okay, I need help choosing which digital camera to purchase. I'm wanting to spend $250 or less, get something fairly weather/water resistant (I cache in the rain), takes good pictures and uses AA batteries (not necessary, but would be preferred). Oh, and I want something that is point & shoot rather than something I need a wagon to carry (smile). Input?
  18. For clarification - do you mean the most times or the highest daily average? For example, a cache is 6 days old and found 6 times versus a 6 year old cache found 60 times. I'm just wanting to know which cache has the most logs.
  19. LOL! We just found that very cache the other day!!! But it has less than 400 logs. The other one mentioned has that beat by 1,000. I'll bet that TAMARACK CACHE will get up there someday!
  20. Geez! That one has over 2,000 pictures in it's gallery!!!! LOL!
  21. YAHOOO! My pack just came. Just like Christmas! Now, tomorrow my geocaching patch should come and the pack will be ready to hit the woods!
  22. Anyone have any idea which cache has been found the most times? Just curious.
  23. Yeah, I'm still happy with the deal. But that's $9 I could have saved for trade items or a new GPS! Let me know how you like your pack when you get it. Mine should be here today or tomorrow. Everytime a truck that sounds like UPS drives by, I get excited! LOL!
  24. Yeah, that's what they told me too. However, those were the women's model. They didn't have anymore of the men's. : ( Got mine at Alpine Sports, but they only had one more men's. If you got the men's model at Campmor, let us know!!! Got a the men's version at Campmor. Check the link I posted its for the men's version and they are still in stock. When I spoke with customer serivce I gave them the item number so they could confirm their inventory. The e-mail receipt also lists it as the men's version. Well, congratulations!!!! You got a much better deal than I did! I paid about $65 after shipping and handling. I called Campmor twice and searched their website just last week (Wednesday, I believe). The guy told me they were completely out of the men's and would probably not get any more in. Either way, I think we'll both be happy with our packs! LOL!
