  1. I have one cache that is an ammo can with the ammo can lock kit on it. Works great, and I got them both at my local surplus store. Oh yeah, I paid about $12 for the whole deal.
  2. my cachemobile is a 91' Toyota Truck with over 300,000mi on it. 4 wheel drive- man's greatest invention.
  3. Smiles for the effort! I'm currently having trouble locating one of my caches. I haven't tried to use the coords and my gps yet, but I think I should be able to find my own hides just from memory. I must say that drinking and caching don't go together, I was under the influence when I hid it, and I'm sure thats why I can't find it again. Other cachers are having no trouble with it though, so I guess I'll find it when everyone says it has a problem.
  4. your son is doing us all a great service! thank you! I still think Bush is an idiot.
  5. I can't see why all of you spend so much time writing on this subject. I can't even read all of this crap. When I first started hiding caches, and still today, If it is crap-a fellow cacher will let me know his oppion. something I greatly value. if he says it could be better, I try to make it that way or get rid of it! That simple, tell them what you think, its a free country. If they don't like what you say, that is thier right also. Why Can't We All Just Get Along?
  6. this has to be one of the coolest threads i've seen. every spring in my part of the counrty people go crazy for morels. i just love them! i hunt them, and caches at the same time during that time of the year. my mother has books and posters that help me on my mushroom hunting. good to see mushroom hunters in force!
  7. I also get most of my ammo cans from the surplus store in Bedford. I pay between 3 and 5 each, depending on size and condition. I also "Aquire" some from work-can you believe they use them to haul nails around! It almost makes me sick ! I didn't know there was a cache there! I better check that out, huh?
  8. Sounds like fun. When I first started caching, a 4Wheeler was my only transport. The best way to cache is in the woods on a atv!

Glad to hear noone has yet died from this heat! I have to wait for cooler weather to do any cachin'.
  10. I'm at seven beautiful SW Indiana counties! Harrison-Crawford are great!
  11. TLC should be near as well, and also has no opening hours issues. And, I think at least one Beavis and Butthead cache is really close to there - just north of Diamond in the parking lot to the west of 1st. Finally, if you get a break... Go to Uhlhorn Street (on first, just south of Diamond), and park by animal control. You'll see the starting point for the Greenway passage at the end of the little parking lot. There is one of my Goldilocks caches right at the start of the trail, and then if you follow the trail to Garvin park (about 1/2 mi to 3/4 mi), you'll find about 7 or 8 caches along the way. Easy paved path to walk along, none of the caches involve bushwhacking, though some do require walking across the grass. Thanks for the suggestions! I have a freind that lives on the West side, and i think he is interrested in caching. Maybe i can set up a day of caching for the both of us. i'll also point him to this forum. Thanks again! jade

Wow! Looks like a good turn-out! Night Trail mix, sounds like fun!
  13. I recently hid a cache with a lock kit I bought at the surplus store (right next to the ammo cans!) So Far, So Good is all I have to say! I hid the key a few hundred feet away and put the coords to it on the ammo can. I don't think any drug dealers or such will find my locked ammo can. If the militay ever comes and cuts it open----- I'll be on a new misson to destroy all of their locks!!!!!! []
  14. I've been working in Eville the past few weeks on the corner of 1st & Diamond (sorry if you drive thruogh there!) I want to get some caches in the area, but can't seen to make time! "Four Cache" Seems to be the closest, but i always get there before opening, and have to work the rest of the day! Maybe one day I'll hit this town in one good trip!

Can't wait to hear more about the next trailmix. I spent the day getting ready by hunting "Little Africa" caches by Indotguy. I think I walked about 10mi round trip! It sure felt like I did! I also recently discovered the joy of hiding a cache as to finding them. I hope I can hide as good as everyone else around here. I think its going good so far. Glad to finally meet Deermark at PoorBoys the other day, maybe see ya on the next trailmix if I don't have to work.
  18. I just noticed this thread and I like it alot. I live about 45 min. from Clarksville/Louisville and would like to find the markers there. I think these markers are really neat! I enjoy finding benchmarks while I'm geocaching. I usually find mine at firetowers in the national forest all around my house, or at dams to the many lakes in the area. I think it would be neat to follow the expidition west using these markers. Thaks everyone for all the neat info!
  19. I just checked out the page for Insane Asylum this morning, and I'm totally lost on how you would figure this one out. [; )] I bet its going to be a fun one!

I was just checking out some new caches, and I see that Indotguy now has 11 caches at Little Africa! I can't wait to get back out there to find some good caches! Thanks Indotguy!

I'll have to try! I just got ahold of a few ammo cans. I hid one with Houndogg_FL not too long ago at the Birdseye Trails. Hdogg has a spot picked out in Orange Co. for one, so that leaves one more can to hide somewhere! Indian-Celina would be a good spot. I also just ordered some of those new geocoins, so one may find its way into a cache as a FTF prize.
  23. I'm in the midddle of the "Geo the Graybeard" series. I think they are pretty neat.

I just found a few caches in the Celina-Indian Lakes area in Perry Co. That could be a good place for a trail mix. There are plenty of trails and several good caches. Thanks Deermark for all of your GeoWork!
