  1. The Uni webcam is the nearest, followed by Tiddly Om Pom Pom in Weston Park and there's Round and round the garden in the Botanical Gardens. I've only done one of these so far, but these are lunchtime pop-outs for me
  2. Thanks. I'm going to get it while the price is good
  3. Thanks for that info. My only concern is it doesn't come with a serial number to unlock the GPS features. I don't mind not being able to upgrade. Problem is, they haven't replied to my message, which makes me wonder if it's numberless or not
  4. That's not at all supprising really is it
  5. Yeah I have, but I thought I'd ask here as well because you don't always get a reply from sellers (I never got one from my original post).
  6. Can anyone tell me if they think this ebay sale would not include a serial number please? They mention it not being upgradeable and Memory-Map say a valid serial number is needed to upgrade. My understanding is you need a serial number to unlock the facility to import and plot trackroutes and waypoints - is that correct or have I got that wrong?
  7. I'm not buying dodgy software. If I wanted dodgy software, I could find it Ah well, looks like I'll be spending some more money
  8. If it is legal, I'll split the cost and buy the serial number off you if you like (well you have to be cheeky sometimes )
  9. I have done. I half expect that it's the free demo and a set of dodgy maps.
  10. It does say the disc and serial, so I guess it does have the software with it. I suppose if it's a copy I could claim it back off my credit card as fraud.
  11. ebay sale Is this a con, or simply an out of date version? I've not used any mapping software, but this looks a very good price. Will this version allow my to overlay tracklogs, routes etc?
  12. Actually you're mixing your Beta's up What broadcasters use is the format Betacam SP, which is nothing like Betamax, although it's rooted in the same technology. They now use DigiBetacam rather than the analogue version when using the Betacam format. More stuff is now shot with DVCam now though. Sorry, I wandered off topic a bit there
  13. That seems to have answered it best - thanks It is helping, thanks Paul. And those roman numerals are simply my birth year, and a take on Sham 69 - nothing more honest
  14. Right, I get TB's - you find one, you take it away, you log it and move it on. Simple. I don't get coins What's the difference, and why did coins come about in addition to TB's? Newbie questions probably, but if you search for coins on the forums, you get four gazillion results
  15. They got back to me later yesterday. They have secured a few more of the binos from Nikon and will have them in 7-10 days, so you may get a pair. It might be worth ringing them because they take a few days to deal with emails. The lady I spoke to yesterday was very helpful.
  16. Bloody hell - my order had gone wrong somewhere, and they are out of stock and as it was an end of line offer, I may have lost out on a decent priced pair of binos
  17. Spot on.Another pair bought,as the £5 garage bins don't really cut the mustard. Have you had yours delivered yet? they are messing about with my order ATM EDIT: I've just changed my name from rinty BTW, just in case you wondered
  18. Thanks for that. I've found a Nikon Travelite V 8x25 for £50. That seems a pretty good buy so I'm going to get a pair of those. Getting them from Warehouse Express Online for anyone who's interested.
  19. I know nothing about this, so can anyone recommend a pair of binoculars? I want to be able to carry them with me, so I'm after reasonable quality without being too big. Don't want to spend a fortune, certainly not over £100, and ideally less.
  20. I came, I read, I won't tell
  21. I'd like to add a point to this thread. I'm not a cacher (yet) and have not used this site beyond browsing about caching and GPS units. I had got the feeling that it was a pastime undertaken by a friendly community of people, but having read some of these comments I feel very put off joining in to be honest. This feeling has nothing to do with the fact that the site seems to have been having trouble (wouldn't know because today is the first time I've been here in over 6 months) but it's totally down to the attitude some seem to have towards people choosing the free membership over premium. If I'm to be looked down on by premium members because I've decided to pick a different option than them, I'm not sure I want to be involved with those folk. I think some of you need to look at how you are coming across, because it doesn't look good from where I'm stood outside of the community - or is that cult I was planning to start caching this summer because I'm moving to the Peak District, but I will not pay for anything to start with because I have no idea if I will enjoy it or not. I seems I will not be a popular person if I do.
  22. Brilliant, thanks for that. Having the UK as one map will be very useful indeed.
  23. Can you point me in the right direction for instructions on how to do this mod please? I'd love to get my DirectRoute Maps into one single map, instead of the 4 I've currently got.
