  1. As a cache owner I check on my cache's every so often to pull out anything that's obvously junk (broken, dirty etc) I also check to make sure there are no cracks and that the cache is still water proof and hidden well. Other then that I leave the contents alone, it's already been pointed out that one adults trash is another kids treasure. If I see a cache that has more then it's share of McD toys I will take a few and add some higher end items.
  2. My son has reached the age were he can now go searching for cache's by himself. He's already created his own account and has logged his first few finds. I've taken him caching with me more times then I can remember. In fact on more then one occasion he actually found the cache before I did. The question I have for the group is this: Can he now go back and log those caches that he found with me, as a find on his account? I have no desire to inflate his count beyond what is fair, but he was there with me and I think he should be able to log them as finds without having to find them again just to sign the log book. We talked it over and decided to come here and get some other opinions.. So what does everyone think? Should he log them as finds or not???
  3. I drive most of the time but I will admit I tend to like the cache's that require a bit of hiking.
  4. Oh Ouch. That hurts just thinking about it. I give you credit, I'm not sure I could have hiked out 2 miles with a broken foot.
  5. Congratulations I just passed the 200 mark myself a while back so I know what a great feeling it is. 200 down, 109,618 more to go
  6. I've only released 1 so far, it's a home made T.B from Montana I found over a year ago. I specifically saved it for when I started releasing my own. I have a key chain I'm getting ready to make into a T.B but other then that I'm not sure what I'm going to make the others out of.

  8. It's taken me a little over 2 years but I finally scored my 200th find. My 200th was "MAN! That's a BIG Rock!" http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...13-300fe2ec3828 Hopefully it won't take another 2 years to find my next 200
  9. Ok maybe I'm being totally blond here and missing something obvious, but what happened to being able to look up a map of your state? I loved being able to look at the map, zoom in on an area and go from there. I've been looking and looking and I cant find that option. Is that feature gone or am I just missing the obvious?
  10. Looking at the picture of the film canister I'd be willing to bet that the negatives still inside the casing could be salvaged, have you thought about taking it in and having someone look at it to see if it's worth trying to save what's left?
  11. The first thing I ever took was a simple toy truck, I still have it in my cache bag, someday I'll leave it in another cache for someone else to find.
  12. If the cost is kept at around $2 a coin I'd be interested in 10 of them.
  13. I've spent most of my adult life working the night shift Midnight - 8am or 3pm - Midnight. I'm a true Night Hawk, even on my day's off I'm routinely up until 3 or 4am, sometimes I'll just stay up and watch the sun rise. I don't know if I'd ever be able to handle working a "normal" 9 - 5 job.
