  1. I love the idea, I could trade up my wife.
  2. Normal caches are inherently unfair. Some require equipment or physical skills that not all posses. Should these be archived to bring the denominator down? Some require electronics that not everyone owns. Should these be archived as not being fair? Some require puzzle solving skills that not all posses. Should these be archived because they are not fair? Why single out the conventional challenge caches? Exactly I don't own a boat, so boating caches are unfair. Sure, I could rent a boat, but my Geocaching membership and battery purchases leave no available funds for that. Heck, with a wife and 3 kids I can't even afford a pair of shoes so any cache that I can not log from my sofa should be archived. Sheesh, why don't people just find the thousands of caches they can instead of bitching about the few they can't?
  3. 1.83/2.09 I started doing a lot of mountain hiking and this really gets the terrain up pretty quickly but most are on the lower end of the difficulty scale. I'd like to get to 2.50 for terrain.
  4. Just over a year ago I quit smoking, just over 4 months ago I bought an elliptical to exercise, just under 3 months ago I started geocaching and now I'm a lean, mean hiking machine. Yesterday we took a big ferry and a small ferry to hike a really cool island where kids were jumping off the pier into the Pacific Ocean. Today we hiked up to a lake that would be a challenge to swim in. Both trips took about 8 hours.
  5. If you throw down a new container because you can't find a cache you still have found nothing so you can't log a find. Pretty straight forward, no? I'd delete the log in a heartbeat.
  6. I was doing a trip around a lake and there was an empty 500 meter stretch and a multi that was placed not far off so while we were walking I told my son to keep an eye out and soon enough he found a container. I thought cool, an easy multi but soon found out it was the end of a Wherigo that started 2 miles away. We just put it back without signing the log or logging the find.
  7. Nice, made me laugh but in a world where we always blame someone or something else this time I think it's safe to blame Coldgears, if he learnt to swim then the distance would be correct.
  8. In Russia you don't find micros. Micros find you.
  9. Makes no sense because if they qualify as having found it then they must have found it first and if they don't then they can't log it at any time. Either they have to log FTF or nothing at all. My vote would be for the latter.
  10. Okay. I'll play Devil's Advocate here. If it's okay to log a find on a cache you helped hide, and were the first to sign the log after it was hidden, then why would it be improper too claim the FTF ? If claiming the find is okay, then why wouldn't claiming the FTF also be okay? I agree, if you feel you found it log it, but ifnyou were first then you have to take FTF, otherwise don't log it. IMHO you didn't find it and don't deserve to log it.
  11. I really really want to travel to space but damit that $200,000 price tag, dam elitists that have been to space, they should all be arrested! Suck it up buttercup, life's not fair.
  12. My dad walked 10 miles to school every day in the pouring snow and then back home again and it was uphill both ways, me, I drove.
  13. Just pick up the bottles as you go caching, you'll help keep your little corner of the world clean and you'll easily make enough for a premier membership, heck you might even make a living out of it.
  14. If you're using a 13 year old phone then I'm sorry, but I just have to say, you're dumber than your phone and a bag of hammers put together. Nothing personal.
  15. I've only done 1 and it was a lot of fun. Had to run back and forth across a suspension bridge 9 times carrying virtual people and caches from one side to the other.
  16. What if the CO doesn't have a Nuvi like you, how can you be right on GZ if he's off?
  17. Theoretically, they could live anywhere within the "rectangle" formed by those statistics. Empirically, they probably live closer to the center than to the edges. It's extremely unlikely that they live at the dead center. Edit: Actually, they could live outside the rectangle, too. I live much closer to the west side of my rectangel than the east. Only 14% of my finds are micros. I'm at 12.26% micros, I prefer hiking for caches but in the last week I found 4 micros that were in a forested trail area and 2 others that were on mountains far from regular traffic. Nothing beats mountain micros.
  18. I agree, the premium member cache is dumb, I mean come on, anyone with $30 can look up and find my caches. I want a super extra premium account so I could place super extra premium member only caches and I think these accounts should cost $30,000. Just my few bucks worth.
  19. EJMG caches a grouping of caches where the container was a used old food glass jar. The caches were then adopted by a new CO and labled EJMG (Every Jar Must Go) which means as you find them you should replace the jar with a L&L and CITO the jar.
  20. Hmmm, I had 4 reasons for coming, getting the icon, getting the smiley, getting the souvenir and doing the triad. So if I come I can still do the other 3?
  21. For me it is about the stats and the pixels I add to my profile, that is what motivates me, and in many cases dictates what caches I will do, I thrive on competition and that's what's got me to a good place in life and what I will always do no matter what I do. And further more, I am not afraid to admit it, amongst other things like the experience it also is about the numbers.
  22. Well, regardless, I'm going to go out and find 11 caches that day, not more, not less and for me that will be cool and while I'm out finding these caches I will give my thanks to the people that secured the freedom for me to do this.
  23. 11/11/11 just sound cool and I was born 01/11 so I'm partial to 1s. I didn't even clue in to remembrance day while posting, wouldn't it be a great opportunity to do something special?
  24. I suggest a souvenir if you find 11 caches on 11/11/11, a really cool date. Anyone have any other cool ideas or know if anything is planned?
