  1. +1 This post sum it up pretty good imo. But theres is really a simple solution to this madness of this kind of claims. Get rid of find numbers and stats altogether like the challenges. Geocaching has become all about numbers. Although I plan 8 - 10 hour hikes around a few geocaches, and have a high terrain rating quite frankly I'm glad power trails are out there, who knows, some day I may want to try one, maybe you will, regardless it adds diversity and that brings new people into the game. Isn't it great, there are so many caches that we all have lots to choose from that we enjoy. Imagine if every cache on earth was only the kind I liked, what would this sport be like? As for numbers, that's another part of the game some enjoy, it's not up to me or you how others have fun. Finally, read my sig.
  2. Get the coordinates of a landmark near by and turn the cache into a letterbox.
  3. Just curious why you think it's ok to place a munzee in someone else's cache? You can stick them on top, under, to the left or to the right of my cache but IMHO my caches are off limits.
  4. Granted I have few micro finds and even then most are micros in forests but I do have a few urban micros. Now although today was not a new experience in finding needles by a cache, it's the first time I found needles in the dark. Urban micros, no thanks, urban micros in the dark, not a chance, give me a bear infested forest any day, thank you.
  5. Are you sure about "everyone"? Everyone who has found it. Does it offend you? Yes Sorry, but I think you need a winter coat of fur or thicker skin. This is exactly the answer I would expect, but that sidesteps the issue. If you were caching with your young daughter would you like to explain this to her? Would you tell her to get thicker skin? Would you want her to get the idea that she is substandard? Have you read the logs? I would suggest there is a bit more to this cache than its title. Reading between the lines there is some joke between the title and the hide itself. Understanding someone else's view is a lot of work, it's easier to get offended, makes a great excuse for war too. Just looking through some caches I found "Beaver Surprise" really grabs my attention, especially since tonight I get my birthday present from my wife.
  6. Yes Can't Help but Now Vommit Crap? Wouldn't that be YCHBNVC?
  7. Yetis Congregating Here Not Very Cuddly You could have nasal vascular colitis.
  8. I don't think I could come up with anything to chose... I'm pretty unlucky at times, but the choices involved in some of these ones would probably make them bad choices... the surviving APE cache might work though, IF... ISS would be tougher to achieve, even if they were providing proper equipment... besides which it is not ON the planet... consider the physics. 500 feet away would definitely be 'outside' the station. Would you have a ship or a space suit? Are you placed in a correctly matching orbit? Being at right angles or such, not closing at a safe rate, Worse yet, stationary! I'm only approximating from memory, but one second after materializing at the spot promised, the station would be say 7.5 km away, if you are standing still, probably more if you factor in all motion including EARTH. Of course you have permission to board the station if you get there, right? Nah that's only two things and I'm not seeing it. The Hydrothermal (MAR) vents you might get SCUBA or a SUB... or a bathing suit! Nope! Not sure about where the APE is located in South America, but if it survives today, it might not be in a friendly area... but more so than the first choices. The other guys have a good idea, an nice canoe trip that doesn't need a genie, just an outfitter and a crystal ball, has that been found at all yet? Doug 7rxc I'm assuming the spirit of the thread in the fact that you'd actually survive. Yeah, 500 meters outside the space station and your dead, but if it's literal then the ape cache for me, as for the other cache $2 - 3K should get you there via float plane from wherever you are, I'm actually looking at it and thinking hmmm, i just might be FTF next summer.
  9. So you'd rather take a quick buck than a trip to anywhere in the world or even out of it?
  10. International space station would be my first pick, Hydrothermal vents would be #2 and Mission 4 ape cache would be #3.
  11. Hmmmm, you gotta be a participant of Occupy (insert your city here).
  12. If I understand correctly, someone could use either a photo-editing software, or perhaps print out the pieces and paste/tape/glue them together and then re-scan the final image. I hope you will not be doing this anywhere near me. No... I don't think so Do you have any photo editing software recommendations Paint
  13. Yeah, ditto, it all makes sense now.
  14. I once stumbled upon a letterbox while searching for a different cache, another time I found the final of a Wherigo because I thought the location would make a cool place for a cache (I did not sign nor log it as I didn't complete the cartridge) but man these people have to be geocaching gods, why? How does some 200 FTFs 2 1/2 months before the caches where ever published grab you? That's some pretty good geosenses, no? 1 of the roughly 200 finds.
  15. I doubt it, because for most of the world 10/11/12 is in November.... That's what's so great about 11/11/11, it's idiot proof:) Even if you're dyslexic you can't get this wrong, now, 10/01/10, not quite there.
  16. My name is Roman, growing up I had so many nicknames I was rarely called Roman so that became my online name. Signing up if this forum Roman was taken so I took [Roman] but thanks to this thread I now changed it to Roman!. Not legally mind you, I'd be just fine without the ! but as I've been called just about everything under the sun Roman is a nice break from it all.
  17. Go to yoShow all logs for: Geocaches" then select "Found It". Now highlight and copy all the caches and paste into excel. Now sort by cache name and look for duplicates.
  18. I hide all my caches SEPMO, I upgraded to the super elite premier membership @ $30,000.00/year and even PMs can't see my hide, that's how elite they are.
  19. Only if you lose it first. If you placed it then how can you find it if you know where it is? Technically you can log it but it's considered bad form. Having said that, I've seen someone log a cache their son placed but they had to use their account to publish it so even though the cache was under their account they still had to go and find where and how their son hid it.
  20. No! You're kidding me, right? Nope, and don't be surprised if this thread does get locked.
  21. In before the lock; getting a post into a thread before it's locked by a moderator.
  22. Your public profile/Geocaches tab says that you have completed one challenge. Is this incorrect? If you click on it, it lists "Snoqualmie Tunnel of Light", CX1. Yes, that is correct but as it was completed over 30 days ago I could not see it by clicking the "challenges" link in my profile. So what's the answer to the million dollar question? I'd like to review the challenges I've done too but can only see 2 out of 3 right now. MULLY Go to Your Public Profile, Click the Geocaches tab, Click Geocaching Challenges * or: http://www.geocaching.com/challenges/search.aspx?st=user&user=yourusernamehere
  23. Let's just agree that PMO caches are elitist and snub those that don't pay up, maybe if we don't pay attention to them they'll pony up the 9 cents a day so they can get attention again. Only reason these thread pop up each week is we snobs tend to enjoy humoring the lower class by responding to their threads.
