  1. Thanks, that worked. Didn't realize that option was onthe page. Got all 65K back on my personal bug. I tried this and I still have 0 miles. It does not show any maps on the TB page either. My other TBs have both miles and maps.
  2. Our TB has been in 2 caches and the hands of 3 members over the last 3 days and he shows no miles. When will it show miles traveled?
  3. I have been trying to import caches into my Mapsource US Topos program. I would like to import a number of caches into it so I can then print out a map with the caches displayed. I have been able to import gpx files into MapSource. But I can only import one at a time. When I import the second one it wipes out the first one. I have tried downloading a group of caches (pocket query) as a gpx file and then open it in MapSource. This will not work, I receive an error message. It appears that I can only import 1 cache at a time and only have 1 cache displayed at a time. Am I doing something wrong or not doing something correct. Thanks,
  4. I would like 2 as well.
  5. Nissan XTerra 4x4, it's my geocaching, biking, hiking, camping vehicle.
  6. I think I ordered 3. Not sure though. I filled out the form and submitted it, but nothing came up about paying through Paypal. All I received was a note saying I would be contacted by email. Is this right?
  7. I am now a Premium Member and it works. I can load in the .gpx files. Thannks for the help guys. I like the PQs as well.
  8. OK it looks like I will now become a premium member. I have been planning on doing it, now I have one other reason to do it. Plus it is a great way to help support our hobby. I tried opening .loc files into Mapsource but it won't work.
  9. Now I have another question. I am not given the option to open with. Do I need to be a Premium Member? I do have version 6.9.1 of Mapsource
  10. Can you transfer downloaded waypoints (from geocaching.com) into MapSource (US Topo), or can you only transfer the waypoints from a GPSr?
  11. When I was in production and making the maps, we were to collect any form of containers (man-made or natural) that was to temporarily hold liquid, as a tank. The other stipulation was that it had to be within a certain size, which I can't remember right now. Sometimes the tank symbol would be blue to show water, but most times it was depicted as a black symbol. A tank can be most liquid containment features (stone/rock to hold water from a spring, metal to hold water for cattle, container to hold water for vehicles in desert areas as well as gasometers and other petroleum tanks)
  12. A Tank is used to hold water. It is a water tank.
  13. Salal (sallal) Salal is a generally low to sometimes erect growing shrub that can be found growing either a few inches off the ground all the way up to 15 feet in height. The leaves are evergreen and thick, shiny, somewhat leathery and about two inches in length. The small white to pink flowers are urn shaped, grow downward, and 5 to 15 appear on a stalk at the end of the branches. The berries are edible, dark red to dark purple and less than one half inch in size. Salal grows grows in a variety of habitats from open coniferous forests and clear-cuts to the seashore. It grows well in a wide range of soil types and can even tolerate salt spray. Wildlife uses: The leaves and twigs are browsed by deer and elk, but the berries are the favorite food of many animals. Birds of many species eat the berries and bears can often be found eating Salal berries. Salal forms dense stands in forests and deer and elk use this cover for bedding and resting. All types of small game also use Salal for hiding and escape cover. Reclamation uses: Salal does well in just about all soil types and has an extensive, suckering root system that helps bind the soil. It grows well in disturbed sites, but grows best in partial shade. It can even tolerate salt spray so it can be used close to the sea. Animals often use Salal for both food and cover so wildlife habitat rehabilitation should also include Salal. Backyard uses: Salal is an attractive evergreen shrub that does well in semi-shady areas of backyards with little water once established. Its green, shiny leaves, interesting flowers and edible berries give Salal interest throughout the year. The branches are also often included in flower arraignments.
  14. Try Buxley's web site. Like I said above, it is pretty easy if you are travelling on major highways. You can follow the highway from the maps and put your cursor over the caches along the route. When you move your cursor over the cache point, it shows the name of the cache. By clicking on the cache point, it will open up the geocaching.com waypoint. I have used this method a number of times when travelling.
  15. I use Buxleys web page to narrow down which caches are at rest areas. It does help. I am sure there are other ways out there as well. You can view where caches are located along major roads.
  16. I received 1. Collapsible Trekking pole 2. DARE Lion that will become a TB so he can visit DARE happenings around the US 3. MapSource US Topo CDs 4. Camelback backpack
  17. If this is on an Interstate, it could be on Federal/State land and wouldn't approval need to come from the correct government agency?
  18. The email I sent you BOUNCED as well. What's up with this?
  19. Thanks! That is what I thought. Just wanted to make sure. US Topos are on my Christmas list.
  20. My GPSr (Legend) currently has the base map (what came with it) and the waypoints that I transferred from geocaching.com. When I load US Topo maps onto the Legend, will it erase the waypoints and/or base maps? Or, as I understand, it it only erase any recently downloaded maps (US Topo, Nat Park Topo, Recreation, etc)? In short, after downloading my area US Topos maps to the legend, do I lose all the world maps that are on it from the factory and will I have to reload the current waypoints into the GPSr? Thanks, Jeff
  21. Target will have the Etrex Yellow on sale Thanksgiving weekend per web page (bf2005.com) Garmin eTrex GPS Adventure Pack $79.00 Garmin Forerunner 101 Runner's Pack $79.00
  22. I was wondering if anyone knows how to resize the US map that some people show in their profile. I added this to my profile, but would like to resize it to a smaller size. I noticed that the map I have is 580 x 300 pixels and one that another member has, that fits, is 480 x 300 pixels. I would like mine to be 480 x 300. Any ideas? Thanks
