  2. Actually DragonLass (Part of the team Azaruk) re established almost immediately after leaving SA...Never did have any intention of continuing under the Azaruk name.....so I'm not quite sure where Grawps statement came from. But....Whatever
  3. Many apologies but I won't be able to make the Event meeting tomorrow evening. I have a family commitment which I cannot get out of. I was very much looking forward to meeting you all and can only hope that there will be another meet in the near future. I hope you all have great fun and that Kiwi Gary enjoys his stay here. All the best - DragonLass
  4. Okay, try this URL...http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=96268de3-1324-449e-a9aa-19848aab17b2 Sherlock Holmes caches by Lunchbox, maintained by Chris n Maria (Bet a certain cacher sees this post and roars with laughter at my ineptitude...I'm waiting Rew )
  5. Caching in Singapore is similar. The caches here are REALLY well hidden. I tend to check out the cache area first and then go back at night. Although as a woman I do have to be careful that I am not mistaken for a "night worker" !!! The cleaners tend to muggle the caches on a regular basis, thats why they are hidden so well.
  6. Yep. I'm in! Really looking forward to meeting you all.
  7. Thank you for your offer to help me. After work most evenings is good for me. RED and Verdict in CBD are very close together. Feeling really down about this caching thing now.
  8. Great news about the get together. I will watch the forum to see where it will be held. The caches I did were: RED Verdict in CBD Trickle, Trickle, Splash Shaken not Stirred Any help would be appreciated. I have personal mailed some of the hiders to see if I was getting close. Many Thanks
  9. Second post.....Is there going to be a get together for Kiwi Gary whilst he is here? I would love to join you if there is. I am trying to meet poeple and don't have a huge amount in common with my sisters friends - they look at me strangely when I tell them about Geocaching and go straight back to talking about Gucci and Prada! Anyone game?
  10. Okay, I feel real useless now. I have been in Singapore for 3 weeks and have gone after 4 caches, everyone of them has been a DNF! My old but trusted GPS seems to be having a real problem picking up a constant satellite signal here and bounces all over the place. I wondered if someone out there would like to help this sad lady regain her dignity and team up for a some caching to help boost my moral? Any advice on how to cope with satellite bounce would be appreciated too. Many Thanks, DragonLass
  11. Hi there, I am really new in Singapore but having just done a quick web search I can see that they are retailing the Garmin GPS Model 60CSx at around S$735 on ebay here. Recommended retail price is apparently S$859.90. I hope that helps DragonLass
  12. Thanks for your replies. I did wonder if it was true about the GPSr! I think it may have more to do with my sister wanting to stop me 'playing' this 'silly' game over here! But thats not going to happen! A street Directory sounds good. I lived here as a child but of course it has changed quite a bit since then!!!!! Seeing as Tuesday is a public holiday I think I might hit the streets then!
  13. Hello there, I have recently moved from London to Singapore and am keen to start Geocaching again. I started Geocaching in South Africa and really enjoyed the off the beaten tracks ones there. London was also fun but I mostly enjoyed the ones out in the countryside. Someone has told me that I need a licence to use my GPSr here in Singapore. Could anyone confirm if this is true please? I am trying to get hold of an Ordinance Survey map to help me get around - I will try the bookshops on Orchard Road tonight. Anyway I thought I would introduce myse;f and say Hello. DragonLass
  14. Thanks for that Kev, I have ordered both the books from Amazon! Does anyone remember the Kit Williams books which had a similar theme? Find the clues and decipher them to lead you to the treasure. I spent hours reading those books
  15. B Babe might be stretching the point a bit!!! But I am not a Dude, therefore must be a 'Babe'
  16. You can't scare me like that! Glad to see Princess Leia saw the thread too!
  17. I would like to meet up other Geocachers. I am trying to meet up with Richelle who is an Australian cacher so I will let her know about it too.
  18. Nope, its not just you. I too have been having the same problem. Now I copy the email before I hit the send button as I was becoming REALLY cross at losing my messages!
  19. Hi, I work for English Heritage and have asked around. There is no guidance policy on the placing of Geocaches at our sites, but the general feeling that I got was to ask the Curators rather than approaching Head Office. Head Office will just give you the run around and I doubt there is anyone who can really take authority for this kind of decision. However the Curators have some autonomy and if approached in the correct manner may (or may not) grant permission. Sorry we can’t be more helpful than this, but if you visit our website you will be able to look up the information on the various sites. Below is our updated contact details if it helps. If anyone needs more information I’ll gladly try to assist. The English Heritage Head Office is moving. From 1st June 2006 our new Head Office will be at: 1 Waterhouse Square, 138-142 Holborn, London EC1N 2ST. Tel: 0207 973 3000 Fax: 0207 973 3001
  20. Any one else having problems with the feature designed to stop Bots for using the email function? Mine keeps crashing and when it does it wipes my message out. The only way I can get around it is to copy my message and try several times, at least I can paste the message in and not have to retype it everytime.
  21. Hi DragonLass here. I am moving again. This time from Kent to North London. I still haven't meet any Cachers, but then again I have not been very active. I see that there are LOADS of Caches around Archway / Highgate........any Cachers nearby who would like to team up once in a while? Many Thanks Susan
  22. Hey Princess Leia! Didn't you move on my travel bug 'Heffalump' recently on the Gold Coast? I live in Kent at the moment but work in London. I am also moving into London as soon as I can find a place to live. Maybe we should meet up one evening???? Welcome to the UK DragonLass
  23. Glad to be of assistance, although all I really did was shout in the right direction! Its nice to be back on board though!!
