  1. i thought about the drilling a hole thing, but as a coin collector (my numismatic tendencies) the hole really does not deface the coin enough--i have a very old (1930 or so) 100 french franc coin, it is one of my favorites. the hole just tells me that it was on a necklace of some sort.... so in an effort to MAKE my COINS move, i went to kinko's, made copies and laminated them (read this in a post somewhere). if the coin was NOT gc.com trackable, i put a TB tag on them, by leaving room to punch a hole for the TB tag[as on another discussion post, they are more likely to be logged as a TB than some OTHER site--they think it would be too much of a hassle]. If they want to seal the copy, i can just make another to send out. Only 1 i put out has been picked up so far......I guess i wll have to wait and see if it works.... i hate caches that have wrong 'inventories' more than DNFs.....i have yet to find a coin in a cache....they just IMMEDIATELY disappear when the 'dropper' leaves the site (ie: dropping in log on site, so it is advertised as being in the cache).
  2. could the home page include a little more info? like on GC.com....XXXXX caches in XXX countries....... Hot categories....most new waymarks, most viewings, most logs, etc.... maybe even a slideshow of pics from logs? ----------------------------------------------------------------------- and in the "me" section, could there be a tab to see created waymarks [newest first-oldest last]. it could make posting/editing/reviewing 'my' waymarks easier--like if i remember that the last waymark had an error/i forgot to do something it would just be a click (or 2) away. is there a plan to create a stat box, as on GC.com, with an icon and visited/created stats. i could then post it 'on my personal website'. still hoping for a condensed version of 'my waymarks' in the style of 'my logs'...
  3. i am limiting my purchases to those that are GC trackable...otherwise whats the point.....unless it is cool (green man)....and i put a TB tag on him....... there needs to be a better system than the forum....i like the set up at cointracking.com, but they charge don't they? that could be a member perk...listing your coin for sale.....and buying coins too.....
  4. oh it is sweet to get them 'on sale'. 'soldouts' are so much of a PITA. i actually got the benchmark coin INSTEAD of the newbie coin--it was why i joined anyway--and did not have to get it on eBay.
  5. what about BMX, RC cars, matchbox cars(does one exist?), and boxwood cars? i guess i am hinting at: home:Places: Racetracks: Auto: On Road: Circuit:[insert track type] H:P:R:A:ON: "Sprint": [] H:P:R:A:ON: Demolition Derby: [] H:P:R:A: Off Road: [] H:P:R: Motorcycle: On Road: [] H:P:R:M: Off Road: [] H:P:R: Bicycle: On Road: [] H:P:R:B: Off Road: [] H:P:R: RC Vehicle: On Road: [] H:P:R:R : Off Road: [] H:P:R:R: Air: [] seems like a good format, accommodating everyone (i could think would be applicable in a category such as this) and allowing for "future growth"
  6. i have a ghost sign waymark that had a fallout shelter sign. i have seen others around as well. Braselton Bros. Dept. Store WM46Z (unapproved as of yet) this should be a category: fall out shelters back in the day, everyone knew where these were, so in case of 'an attack', you knew where you has to go 'to be safe.' with renewal in fear of attack, it would be nice to promote 'safe' places to go in an area. many are also really neat buildings.
  7. now that would be a good category..... motivation for a vacation. there could be an "adult" section--like yahoo groups. i believe that DOB was asked on registration, but it could be added. this section could allow adult clubs and retail stores to be available--some places do not have them (through regulations and mortoriums) while others are saturated. these waymarks would definately need constant moderator supervision (category owners and waymark owners) to keep it in a tasteful manner.
  8. when i find one you can BE SURE that i will NEVER TELL any of you about it. on the other hand, if you fond one, please send me an email with any info (IE: hoe to aviod traps).
  9. yes, the POW/MIA category is too strict. i have found several war memorials, but the do NOT say POW/MIA on then so i have not attempted to post them there. it would be nice to have another war memorial category for those that are not POW/MIA. and the ones i have found are not 'cenotaphs' either--for example: the VFW post has a flagpole surrounded by bricks with service persons names and the war they participated in. these armes forces veterans should get some respect, if not the same level as POW/MIAs.
  10. i would be down for this category, but i am sure the people behind the gates would not be. not like we would know who is behind them all, but some would be ratted out (movie stars, and other famous people).
  11. i have had a focault pendulum posted since 10.8.2005. i have emailed the category owner severyal time asking for it to be approved. not even a reply (ie: i am out of town/the country, and do not anticipate being able to accept your mark until......). what is he trying to fond someone to visit the site to see that i am not lying? i have put pics on waymark...proving the existence of it. i had some art cars that sat for a while before they were approved, they responded with ACTION after i contacted them, not IGNORANCE. so if anopther person wants to add a mark to the pendulum category it would be nice if he would see "the line" formed on........(ie: 10.8.5) and there are "X" marks in this line. this would also allow TPTB to see who is doing 'their job' (mr company man) and who is not. i am sure that, like any 'job' if someone is no longer willing to complete the work, there is someone else who will. it is nice to have a category that you really care about, i am sure the pendulum guy is some sort of engineer or something, but i could care less about tham and maybe do "a better job".
  12. yea, this has been a problem for some time (i have 13 pages of waymarks). the top one was the only one that worked--by clicking the #, then the arrows started to work with the 'facelift' a week or so ago, as of last night, i accidently for got about the bug and clicked the page stuff at the bottom of the page. it still did not work. ill try again sometime this week. it would still be nice if there was someway to make 'my waymarks' into something more userfriendly--not just each i own in ABC order. like GA Historical Markers (99). and it would then link you to a list of those 99 waymarks (alpha or date sorted); just like the stats page on GC.com. it would be nice if we han options on a category page on how to display: default is date listed. but what about ABC, closest to 'home', and closest to selected waymark. which brings me to linking eachwaymark with a search for CLOSEST WAYMARKS and CLOSEST GEOCACHES. the waymark link could also be added to the GC.com Cache page.
  13. what ever it is that is going to happen to make it a game will be retroactive, will it not? so the 175 waymarks i have created--seems i am the only one in GA making marks--are not in vain. and in the stats page, can the owned waymarks be included, in a similar fashion to logs (ie: Ga historic markers: 35). there just needs to be a better way to visualize what others are doing and own.
  14. i did find the georgia historical markers category, in historic things. however, a good portion of them are places more than things, and sometimes actions. the 'thing' in the equation--the historic marker--itself is not historic, the place it is describing is. and what about the other states? i have 2 markers from south carolina. i know that you know 'field of dreams'.....if you build it they will come....there is the voting thing to allow the 'public' to have access.
  15. i would like to propose a zaxby's restruant category. there is one for McDonalds, what is so special about it, are we forgetting Burger King, Wendy's, Arby's, Subway, ChickFilA, Sonic, Dairy Queen, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Checkers, Krystal, Popeyes, KFC, and all the other chain restruants? my friend suggested that i get the zaxby's category since it started here--well not literally, but in another Athens Georgia suburb-- Watkinsville Georgia.
  16. yea, breaking it down by STATE would be easire to search through--there are HUNDEREDS in each state. i just want to category to be there so i can mark all the spots i have found in the past few weeks.
  17. there are many variations on how to waymark historic sites--location (state, county), type (action, building). the current historic section is very limited in scope. there are many locationless caches featuring these types of markers. so i guess i would like to create a broad category of 'roadside historical markers of america'.
