  1. If it's the paint you're looking for, Rustoleum makes several colors of ultra flat camo paint. Look for it at your local home improvement store. I use silk leaves from a hobby store for my prints. You can get a big bag of them really cheap so when they get soaked with paint I toss them and use new.
  2. i like the way flask types in all lower case no matter what
  3. You have to get their permission to "officially" adopt the cache. If they agree, go here: www.geocaching.com/adopt If they don't agree go over and fix it yourself and put it on your watchlist.
  4. I log in the field or as soon as I get home so I don't have that issue.
  5. I think this was created by Markwell but I could be wrong:
  6. I like this idea and think it's workable. In the short term if they made bookmark lists searchable that would help.
  7. Sounds like a great deal! You might try posting this in the Canada forums.
  8. I have a cache similar to what you propose. I wedged a soda bottle preform tube into one of the seams in the concrete pipe sections. Works great!
  9. Yep, maybe you want to check in with COs before inviting the rest of the world to find their cache without going through the listing site. I'd rather see logs on my cache page than on some exclusive iTard games website that I can't access. Ditto. Why not create a bookmark list of your favorite caches and share it with your local cachers?
  10. Buy a larger gnome and put the little ones all around it. That would be cute.
  11. Be creative! Come up with an odd container (plastic rabbit, fake bird, etc), or paint a traditional container a non-traditional color (purple, pink, orange, etc), or make the log book unusual (gold paper maybe), or all of these things together! Try and knock your fellow cachers' socks off instead of tossing out another humdrum 35mm film can LPC.
  12. I'm a programmer so I have quite a few puzzles that I've coded one way or another: javascript games, IVR phone puzzles, multiple guess web pages, encryption routines, etc. Never been a fan of ciphers or math puzzles.
  13. Try the Houston geocaching forum: www.hgcs.org
  14. Try a military surplus store or a farm and ranch store. In my region there's a farm supply chain that sells 30cal for $6 and 50cal for $9.
  15. I'm surprised no one has brought this up - set up an offset multi-cache with a virtual first stage at your historical landmark. If there is no container at the posted coordinates the saturation guideline does not apply. Not sure what an offset is? From the guidelines:
  16. I hid the original one of those types back in '02.
  17. I like that badge generator! I edited it to remove the elevation calculations which take forever to run, and aren't much use since they include locationless... and I live in a very flat area of the country. Email me if you'd like to try it. I'll probably post it in the gsak forums too.
  18. Why not just post a note that you replaced the cache?
  19. You can also go to the map screen and zoom out a ways and see the icons on the map. Scroll over to where the icons are and then zoom and select one.
  20. That is a violation of the guidelines. All information to find the cache must be on the cache page. Ditto. You have to post the required info on the cache page unless it's a puzzle cache.
  21. Maybe you should change your name to "The DarkComplectedUrkel". +1 Back on topic... Add me to the immune list. I used to get PI really bad when I was a kid and the first couple of years of geocaching, but now I never break out. My girlfriend who is an avid adventure racer and newbie geocacher was immune until recently. Apparently the failing immunity thing is real.
  22. Try the Centex Cachers: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CentralTexasGeocachers/ Or the SA group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SATXgeocache...yguid=153594305 Posting your phone number in a public forum really isn't a good idea. FYI
  23. No idea about trekbuddy, but I would read up on the app on it's web site: http://wiki.trekbuddy.net/index.php/Main_Page
