Caches In Paris
The Village People (Sussex) replied to Gowenhouse's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
We found a micro in the Montparnasse cemetary - the one where all the artisists/poets/philosophers are entombed- I think it was called SilverII, but I'll check and get back to you. It took us about an hour because we were looking at the famous statues and monuments, but it could be a lot quicker. We then had a coffee which cost 4.5 euros each! Although not dead central it was only a few metro stops on from the Centre de George Pompedieu. Just checked - Silver 14 (Paris) GCK1WV -
I don't care who you really are, I like a bit of mystery. Being a teacher I enjoy a little sycophancy from my pupils so welcome and we are grateful to have you. Well done in advance and have an apple.

Imperial Or Metric?
The Village People (Sussex) replied to The Bongtwashes's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
Being educated in both systems I feel privalidged to be able to visualise both. I default to miles for long distances, once under a mile to meters, but strangely back to imperial for very short measurements - easier because they anthropometrically relate to the human body, of which I have an average one so it works for me. Oh yeah - 39 for another precious 4 months -

Caching The Slopes
The Village People (Sussex) replied to The Village People (Sussex)'s topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
Thanks for all the replies the FTF in Andorra has my name on it..... Will let you know how we get on. I think we'll have to spread the word and find a friend who could babysit a cache for us there. Cheers Jo On second thoughts, having attempted a translation from the Catalan this looks pretty impossible in the winter - Its actually at the peak of the Coma Pedrosa in Arinsal which is particularly avalanche prone - I don't fancy being responsible. I have always wanted to visit in summer so maybe still a possible FTF this summer as it does look very difficult and requires some rock climbing. -
Planning a last minute ski trip, probably to Andorra and just wondered if anyone out there has ever cached on the slopes?

Tb Protocol
The Village People (Sussex) replied to The Village People (Sussex)'s topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
Yes", and "either" would be my answer! It would probably please the bug owner more if it was moved to another cache, but if that would cause a long delay then stick it back in your cache. Thanks HH - you have inspired me to find a cache near said firefighters station to continue the theme. cheers Jo -
Tb Protocol
The Village People (Sussex) replied to The Village People (Sussex)'s topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
Thanks Stuey, one firefighter awaiting earliest possible dispatch.... -
Is it acceptable practice to pick up a TB from a cache that you own? If yes should I return it to my own cache or set it on its' travels in a new cache? Orchards Finest have left a Firefighter TB and our very own Village People firefighter is very excited at the prospect of snapping it next to his fire truck!

Other Sports You Do Or Like !
The Village People (Sussex) replied to Da Rubber Chicken's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
Hey Da rubber - you're no chicken! I have been discouraging my 14yr old son Ed from extreme parkour (anything over 5ft high) for purely selfish reasons I don't think you can understand until you become a parent. I thought geocaching was an exciting twist to an afternoon stroll until he realised all the extreme approaches we could take: in the dark timed 'as the crow flies' off roading in a jeep on a mountian board...... Thankfully he is determined to stay on the right side of the law. I just hope my nerves survive. Jo -
Loads Of Spaces.......
The Village People (Sussex) replied to Us 4 and Jess's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
I filled an empty space, me and Agatha Christie- 15th September, but not the same year. Got to go and bully the gang into filling some more space... -
How Long Have You Been Caching?
The Village People (Sussex) replied to Us 4 and Jess's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
Got a GPS 15th September for my birthday and have attempted 5 caches so far - found 3 including our first international in Paris last Tuesday. Taking it very leisurely so far as the nasty W word tends to get in the way. Having fun Going to hide our first tomorrow hopefully - fingers crossed
