  1. We have spent quite a bit on our hobbie, but just the stories, let alone the views were worth any price.
  2. We go over forty miles for caches a lot of the time, because around here, there is not many that you can do during the winter without a long hike through the snow.
  3. Welcome to the big game. Two things you will notice, in about five months, you won't hardly look at the trade items in the cache, and around the same time you will wonder why you haven't been doing this for years.
  4. Our first unit was a Magellen explorist 200. It is cheap and easy to use, it has awesome lock under tree cover. It can't download waypoints from the computer though and that is why we eventually upgraded.
  5. I've never had that problem, have you tried right click "open with" then selecting mapsend?
  6. My wife and I our a team, we have looked for each cache together. I do most of the logging online, and picking what caches to go look for, but my wife figured out how to go paperless so she is in charge of that.
  7. My mistake I was refering to the x model.
  8. What about some sort of cache scavenger hunt?? ask them to find one light pole cache, a virtual and a muti. Or caches of different sizes, diffuicuty or terrains, or one from each part of town. I don't know if that helps or not.
  9. We are considering going to our first event. It's this saturday in Grants Pass Or. We have never been to one. Can anyone clue me in as to what to expect? From what I can see it is going to be a pretty small get together. Thanks
  10. Why would it be easier? I'm looking for examples of why one would be better then the other.
  11. I was just wondering what you all thought was better The garmin 60cs or the magellan meridian color. We have the meridain color but we were wondering if it was worth switching.
  12. The first one I had was a 97 jeep TJ. It was awesome for everyting but towing. There wasn't a trail that I came arcoss that I couldn't handle. Now I have a 90 ford 350 crew cab desile. There isn't much that it can't handle and I can carry five tmes as much plus take stuff to the dump. For my money I would go with an older pickup.
  13. We use the dog most of the time, there are not many things that having a little puppy on a leash won't explain away.
  14. It is all about the Meridain color for me. It cost a little more but it was totaly worth it. It has a huge screen and an easier user interface on the unit.
  15. I was just wondering what tools cachers who make monster runs use to grab so many caches in one day. I think the most we have gotten was 15.
