  1. Cachers have been requesting the ability to filter out "took it to" logs for several years. How hard would it be to implement such a feature? I have the ability to filter my geocaching logs for 18 different types of logs. I would very much like to be able to filter out pages and pages (and pages and pages and pages) of "took it to" trackable logs.
  2. From a cache page, the "Search" function on the "Play" drop-down menu goes to a "404 - File Not Found" page. On my profile page, the Search function works on the Play drop-down menu.
  3. I still very much would like to be able to turn off or filter out "visited" logs. Please please please may we have this feature?!!
  4. Here's the first of a series of caches I designed to help people solve puzzle caches: How Do I Solve These #@&%$ Puzzles?!! Intro I was inspired by ePeterso2's "Puzzle Solving 101" series, and used (with permission) the terrific title to one of The Allen Cachers caches.
  5. Here's what was said earlier: Thank you. That explains why it was removed, but I'd still like to know why it can't be kept in 64-bit code.
  6. It may be used only about 100 times a day, but that doesn't mean there are only 100 people using it. It's a versatile tool, even more so because it's so convenient to the cache page. Earlier this year I published a geocaching lesson that explained some of the ways the conversion tool can be so helpful to someone solving puzzle caches: How Do I Solve These #@&% Puzzles?!! Coord Formats I'll be very disappointed if the link disappears for good. Why can't it be kept?
  7. There is a big difference between "Visited" and "Took it to" trackable logs. Someone has to manually select "Visited" when posting a log and, you're right, sometimes they result in interesting logs. "Took it to" logs seem to be an automatic setting (on a smart phone?) that generates a log for all trackables in one's inventory for every cache visited. With many of my TBs, this has resulted in dozens and dozens of pages of nothing but "Took it to" entries when someone has gone on caching runs lasting weeks and months without leaving the TB in a cache. Here's one recent example: $5000. Page through the first dozen pages. Try to keep from yawning. Try to find an interesting log. There are some in there, but they are so buried in those pages and pages and pages of "Took it to" logs that it's not worth the bother to find them. Now look at the first few pages of logs for the TB, which started life long before the era of "Took it to". Much more fun and interesting. That's what I want to get back to. Please let us filter out "Took it to" logs.
  8. This has happened to so many of my trackables (and trackables that I've picked up) that I no longer read through past logs to see what adventures the traveler had. It's just too hard to wade through page after page after dozens of pages of blah. Please give us a way to filter those out!
  9. I agree! I too would love to know why Groundspeak hasn't yet done this. Please give Challenge caches their own icon!
  10. I am late in joining this deteriorating discussion, but would like to add this for the CO: "Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." - Albert Einstein (and AA). ... or, put another way: If you always do what you always did then you'll always get what you always got. There have been some good ideas posted here. Try some.
  11. Take a look at my I Like Violet TB. That is the start of 15 PAGES of bland, mindless AUTOMATED "took it to" logs. That is what we wish to stop.
  12. Now this is what I mean when I suggest that logs NOT be auto-visits. If the logs contain human-typed words, and photos, that's what people may appreciate. Yes, these are not the automated "took it to" logs I wish to stop. The cacher is manually having the TB "visit" those caches and is considerately adding interesting logs. Bravo!
  13. But wouldn't 25 pages of different cachers' personalized logs and photos with email notifications be even more annoying? Absolutely NOT!
  14. You say "was". Has it gone away? Yes! This would be great! How can we make that happen? I like it too.
  15. You won't incur my wrath - it's a mindful act and I think that's great. I'd vote for that.
  16. Please either disable this feature or adjust it so one can only do it with one's owned trackables. I am not demanding interesting logs. I'm not asking for a return to the old days, when one had to drop a trackable into a cache and then retrieve it as a separate action. The current method of clicking on the "visited" button when posting a cache log is fine. I just wish that, if one is going to blithely dip my trackable into dozens and dozens (or 100 or more) caches, they have to do it manually. Why is that so much to ask?
  17. That's different from what I'm talking about. A cacher must click that option for each cache, and if someone wants to click that for each of 100 or more caches visited, fine.
  18. Do we need to making our wishes known in this forum to get anything done about this? Ability to turn off 'visited' option for owned TBs/Coins
  19. The impression I get is that there is a feature (on a smart phone maybe?) that automatically dips all TBs in a cacher's inventory each time they visit a cache before dropping off the TB. Some holders of my TBs have gone on cache runs of over 100 caches, generating pages of bland "took it to" logs along the way, before they finally drop the TB in a cache. I replied to a topic in the feedback forums and asked that this automatic feature be stopped. If someone wants to dip my TB into 100 or more caches, I wish for them to have to do it manually.
  20. I would like the feature turned off that allows for automatic dipping. I now have at least four TBs each with over 12 PAGES of bland "took it to" logs. Here's the latest: "I Like Violet" I'm not asking to go back to the two-step drop-off and pick-up system that we had before, but if someone wants to dip it into 120 caches, I wish for them to have to do it manually.
  21. Ah. Never mind. I finally found the feedback area.
