  1. Ahh... Rhinelander. $2.48 for an 8 pack of bottles. Not half bad if you put 'em in the freezer for a little while. Then you can fill the empties with homebrew. Sorry. College flashback. I haven't thought about Rhinelander in a coon's age.
  2. well, there's only one left Actually, I had three in the quiver, and used one on the bear. I returned to the truck to drop off some gear before returning to pack out the bear. I took my bow along for the picture and just grabbed the arrow I used on the bear. I guess it does look kind of funny in the picture.
  3. Don't tell me you bow hunt bear with only ONE arrow in your quiver! That's confidence.
  4. I've only been caching since August and have not seen a bear while caching. However, I've seen plenty of sign, and bears are not uncommonly sighted by cachers in the area. One of the WMAs where I have a cache placed had a bear sighting this past fall. That said, on the morning of 11/02 this past fall I had an intimate encounter of my own, LOL
  5. Let's see what is that acronym.... TTIWWP or something like that... This Thread Is Worthless Without Pictures Umm... ok. You asked for it.
  6. Bummer! I hope you heal quickly so you can get back out there. So what are you going to call the new cache? Twisted Ankle Cache?? Or Out of Commission Or maybe the "I ain't fib(ula)bing when I tal(us) the coordinates will help you Navi(cular)gate to the cache." I thought about it, but this is a bonus cache for a cache series I'm hiding. Don't want to spoil the series, so I'll probably just detail my saga in a note. PS, the ankle looks NASTY! LOL! Hopefully I'll be back at it in two weeks or so.
  7. I'm going (from Morgantown)... if Mrs WB doesn't go I'd be happy to let some folks pile in with me.
  8. My bad. I thought this post was about the Feb Signal geocoins...
  9. This is a direct quote from their website: " Monday, February 20, 2006 February Signal Coin On Sale - January Ships Soon The January coins will be shipping very soon. We expect them in this week and will ship immediately after receipt. " If you are expecting or missing certain other coins, they have projected shiping dates listed. And if you feel like something else is wrong, then try emailing them. They were very prompt in responding to my plea for help. You just have to ask... This is the third week that notice has been up on their site. I'm still wondering how people have Feb coins when those of us that ordered Jan coins are still sitting here with nada. /rant
  10. A bit OT, but I haven't even seen my JANUARY Signal coin yet. W.T.F.
  11. What are you trying to figure out? You're reading stuff that isn't there. Read my post, look at the pretty pictures. That's all it is. Jamie Your title is Redneck Vs Ammocan. How could we possibly "read into it?" The proper term is "Earnhardt-Americans."
  12. The retirement card has got to be the stupidest thing ever.
  13. I too have an MP themed cache, and the hint is "Australia, australia, we love you, we love you!" But if one thinks about it for a minute... that might just be a hint, too.
  14. Try sanding the brass. It may have a protective coating.
  15. I'm an analytical biochemist. I am currently trying to identify unique protein antigens from tuberculosis for use as diagnostic reagents... among other things.
  16. If roaring river is still as crowded as it was last time I fished it, I'd skip the fishing and just go caching, LOL. A friend of mine got hooked through the cheek by the idiot next to him. Standing shoulder to shoulder to fish isn't my idea of fun.
  17. If you are just wanting to use it for caching, I recommend grabbing an older palm off ebay (a service I recommend less and less these days, LOL). I just bought a Palm VIIX delivered for about $30. It works great. I found my first four caches paperless this past week.
  18. Sorry, I was busy with the "All England Summarize Proust Competition".
  19. Use cachemate to "export" a cachemate .pdb. Then you just hotsync and should be good to go.
  20. My first caching injury! I was placing a cache last night and blew out my ankle .5 mi from the truck. I was able to get back to the truck and make it to the ER, LOL! Turns out I tore my ATF ligament. Oh well, hopefully I can be back at it in a few weeks.
  21. Ok, so we've all seen 'em and some of us have left 'em. But I still belly laugh every time I think about this one I read last fall
  22. LOL, I'd have shot off the lock and pilfered the contents if I was going to gun-muggle a cache.
  23. Well, I finally made it to 100 last night. Took me six months, but my silly *job* keeps interfering with my caching. Plus, we don't have the high density of caches that some places do. But I'm on my way! I was excited. Just thought I'd share.
  24. Duh! Just found it. Please disregard stupid question! LOL
  25. I live on the border of WV and PA. I have two pocket queries, one runs for caches w/in 60 miles of home in PA, the other w/in 100 miles in WV. The total # is something like 700, but I can only upload 500 to my magellan. I wish to preferentially load all WV caches, then fill up on PA caches. How do I set GSAK to filter for WV caches? I've looked and just can't seem to find it. Thanks!
