  1. I'd be tempted to stick in an HTML break in. <br> G
  2. Looks/sounds very interesting. Pricewise... Santa, are you reading this? G
  3. As the cache you are setting needs to be "maintained" in a reasonable time, the person/s doing the maintenance need to be reasonably close, to do so. I don't think it means thay HAVE to be cachers... Relatives who are prepared to do the maintenance should be OK? (So long as they know where the cache is!) You don't need a GPSr if you have been shown that the cache is "behind this rock just here." G
  4. Someone else has done the work of setting up the cache. Points for adopting it? No. However "Well Done" on helping to keep a cache going (If its worth keeping going) (You could always adopt it, archive it, then replace it with your own! then you would get the points!) G
  5. Look at the D/T (Difficulty/Terrain) rating, and pick the T1 rated caches, and check the streetmap map. However, although the route may be wheelchair accesable, the cache container may be out of reach of someone in a wheelchair (too high or too low) But an able bodied helper could solve that problem. Have to recommend the Handicaching site, hundreds of caches have had ratings added recently by GeocacheUK cachers. G
  6. Is it because if we don't like the way the threads going, we go and start another thread? G
  7. NAP. Can we have this as an attribute ??!! PAP Pasa A Pub on route to/from the cache -handy for multis!
  8. Having made the effort to get up and out on a cold morning, seeing this at one of the caches, and then moving on to this Sort of makes it worthwhile. And of course the mug of Hot Chocolate after a sucessful days caching! G
  9. In Coventry and Warwickshire it was ****** petrol station customers having problems with clones being made from chip and pin cards.
  10. I have the Keyspan USB to serial adaptor, fits the Garmin serial part of the lead and connects to USB port... However, I use it on a Mac via USB -doesn't seem to work on USB on K's PC, so connect via serial port on that... (It is an old PC!) G
  11. Keep the existing multi, and enter a "wrong" number, that leads to the second cache. So the new cache needs to be fairly near to the existing hideing place, that would save too much work setting a new multi. (If that makes sense!) Good Luck!
  12. Welcome to this madness! Think the best advice is "Get out there and use it" Make sure you have it set to the correct map datum.
  13. Too many DNF's and it's used to stop the car rolling downhill... Or... Download walks from Country Walking magazine and follow the trail. Hopefully with a few caches on the way.
  14. Yellow etrex = 300+ finds. Just slow down as you get nearer the cache area, and start using your eyes to look for the hideing place!
  15. Be careful about putting your full address. If it's found, a low life might realize you are away from home, and the house is empty... House number and postcode as recommended by the police.
  16. A compass helps, 265 deg is a west-ish direction. (Just slightly south of west) I would work on a "Pace" being about 3 feet. Based on the accuracy of the GPS system I would go from the current stage 300 feet in a west direction, and look to your left. G
  17. Weekend caching includes What's the saying, about Geocaching taking you to places, and seeing things...
  18. Back-up. Yes, highly recommended. Tomtom suggest it as well. Copy the whole card onto your desktop, and then save -I did mine on to CD, and on to a larger SD card (256mb*) and keep the original SD card. * Caches and trigs and speedcamera data added to Tomtom! G
  19. Cripes, Tomtom is bad enough anyway, if you make a wrong turn "Turn around NOW!" without any swearing in there! G
  20. 256mb card. contains TomTom data (of course!) Caches -found/not found Trigs -found/not found Speed cameras. G
  21. Congrats to Messe on 900... That 901st seems to be playing "Hard To Find" G
