  1. Well with that sales push I have to ask--can a previous order be added to? I will take care of that for you.
  2. I think it is a cool idea, but mechanics would be difficult and it in effect already happens in the trade thread. The little bit of experience I have had with barter currencies seems to indicate there is severe inflationary pressure and that instead of providing a better way to level the playing field it just becomes more complicated trying to figure out real values. Right now, I think ebay does a pretty nice job of allowing people to determine the value of coins. My thoughts,
  3. You might try deleting your cookies, then trying to pay. I have been told by others that this will resolve that problem or send me an email at: smoran@hogwildstuff.org with the order number and I will send you a PP invoice. S

  5. No idea if i ordered these. Hope not. But it looks like numbers have never been ordered for this coin.
  6. Actually most coins sold by most vendors are in fact priced lower than this coin with an absolute promise of an icon. I think it is a legitimate statement. And here is a quote from a previous post I typed to you before: "You have your way of running your business and I have mine. Such is how the world works. If all of us ran our business the same, then we would have no variety." The cost is very fair based on the details of our reselling program and the benefits our custom coin clients receive from this program. Your post, and many other posts you have made, exemplifies why I believe coin vendors should be heavily moderated when they post their opinions in the forums. This is a place for the community and not for vendors (including those who qualify for vendor status, but hide behind individual status) to insert how they would run each other's businesses. I honestly debated replying to this attack. But I do need to say that I am way more than a vendor: - I actively buy and trade and collect coins. I am a part of the community not just a vendor / seller. - You imply that I am hiding behind my individual status. Be serious! Look at my signature lines and my avatar. "Hide behind individual status"? Is there anyone who looks at any of my posts and doesn't know I am a vendor and what my company is? I do agree that each of us runs our businesses that way we think benefits us and our businesses and that is good. It is also good that we don't do it the same way because it does meet different needs.

  8. While I have never been asked for a trade by him . . . . . I don't think (being the worlds worst cacher and getting older everyday my memory fails me at times), I am thinking that having a kid pester me for a trade that I don't want to make would be pretty darn low on the list of problems I would have to deal with. How about this: One of you who is being pestered for a coin trade give me that problem and I will give you the problem of paying my rent. Seems like a pretty good trade to me.
  9. Sex of baby: Girl Date of Birth: Nov 17 Time of Birth: 3:42 AM Weight: 7 lbs 13 oz BUT I AM THE WORLD'S WORST CACHER SO ALMOST CERTAINLY WRONG!
  10. I would love to trade my bird. Send me a PM. Though this will be about the last of my southbayday sig items.
  11. I am going to be traveling to Greece in February and I am interested in making an Athens Greece geocoin. I am looking for a local cacher to work with me on this project. Please contact me through my PM.
  12. shapped i would spend money on, round nope. In fact like the shaped a lot.
  13. How many people besides Moun10Bike and AJAYHAWKFAN have paid in full, the whole cost of their coins...not many? I think when someone puts up that kind of investment, they should be able to do pretty much what they want to do with their coin (if they have never been sold). It would be interesting to find out how many people have funded personal coins solely out of pocket. We have done six versions. All without any commercial assistance (unless you wan to count Uncle Sam and his occasional refunds ) BTW, the quote is from post #59 by jeep'en jumpers As a coin maker, I can tell you that there are a bunch of people out there who have made an funded their own person coins and not put them up for sale. I think you would be supprised by the number of them. But most have not preactivated them, and most even if not happy with them being sold on Ebay, just let it go, feeling that having a fight about it is not worth the hassle / strained relationships.
  14. I can afford the auction and put in a pretty healthy bid, but you must have a HUGE reserve set on it. Because I top amount did no meet the reserve amount. I do hope this hunts for you.
  15. As this discussion has evolved and devolved It has been more or less civil though I am not sure it has changed anyone’s opinions. As I was reading some of the harsher comments I was reminded of an old M*A*S*H Christmas episode where Winchester in keeping with his Boston Tradition secretly has very expensive candy shipped to him so he can secretly give it to the local orphanage. Not more than a day or to after he gives the secret gift, he finds staff members of the unit eating THAT candy. He is furious with the guy who runs the orphanage, because he meant that candy to be a gift for the children. He confronts the guy who runs the orphanage in a huger burst of anger. The man then explains that he sold the candy so that he could use the funds to purchase several months of food for the children. The point is, that people do things for many reasons those reasons are frequently not apparent. While I understand that it is the right of a person to make a coin, activate it and place restrictions on it. I still continue to wonder if it is worth all the grief it causes. This is not in any was to excuse anyone from not keeping an agreement, but I am thinking maybe a tiny bit of grace may be warranted. My Thoughts!
  16. I am looking for some help getting photos of bird coins so I can update the website.
  17. Sure it is. Why couldn't I put stipulations on one of my coins? If I worked hard on it, and didn't want to see others profit from it, that would be my right. If I paid for tracking numbers, and took the time to activate them all in my name...then I don't see any problems in putting stipulations on it. If someone didn't like the stipulations...they could avoid the coin all-together. Have to answer why you might not: Because it causes hostility, anger and confusion among people. It damages friendships and relationships. Just because you have the right to do something does not necessarily make it the best thing to do.
  18. First and foremost in this whole issue is that if you make an agreement with someone about a coin you receive you should abide by that agreement as far as possible. - If you agree not to sell a coin, then you shouldn't. - If you agree not to sell a coin, but then face extraordinary circumstances you should talk with the person you made the agreement with. Likely they will work with you. - If you don't like the terms of the agreement then don't do the trade. Now the twist: To the best of my knowledge these restricted coin always or mostly come with the understanding that you can trade it but not sell it. So this is just so easy to get around. You just trade a pile other unrestricted coins. A bit more inconvenient and the valuation is more uncertain. But ultimately accomplishes the same thing. I guess the question I would like to ask those who place the restrictions on their coins is why do it, knowing how much grief and controversy it causes. (Not a judgment about it, but just curious; Also not disputing your right to put any restriction on your coins.) Part of the problem with these restricted coins is that collectors come in all flavors. Some are outgoing and aggressive or socially skilled, others are shy (like me) The outgoing ones do fine making trades for those hard to find restricted ones. Maybe they have better relationships / friendships. So as a for instance, I will probably never own a Volunteer coin or a Mount10bike 1 or 2 coin. In truth anyone who has one of those coins, even if they trade with it is going to treat it as having significant monetary value. I bet there is not a single one that has traded in the last year for another relatively common personal, commercial or event coin. I suspect that in most cases there is already not really that tight a relationship between the two parties in these disputes or they would never show up here in the forums. My thoughts . . .
  19. Would you believe me if I told you that one day i woke up to an email from Groundspeak telling me that after seeing how many 1/1's I had DNF'd, but were found by someone else. They changed my geonick then told me after the fact?
  20. 1. If I activate a coin will it lose value? GENERALLY SPEAKING YES 2. Can I trade coins that are activated? YES, BUT MAY BE HARDER TO TRADE 3. Can you switch ownership somehow? YES 4. At a event there is usually a table or bucket for trackables, do I discover these or take them to move along? EITHER 5. If I want my coin to be discovered at a event and I want to keep it do I put it on the trackable table/bucket? PROBABLY NOT A GOOD IDEA. SHOULD KEEP IT WITH YOU AND SHOW IT TO OTHERS 6. If no do I just show people it at events and then they write down the tracking number? YES 7. If yes should I print off little cards with the tracking number on them to pass out to those who discover it? THAT WILL MAKE THEIR LIFE EASIER. SOME PEOPLE MAKE A SHEET OF PAPER WITH ALL THEIR TRACKABLES TO SHARE. IT IS BAD FROM THOUGH AND AGAINST GC GUIDELINES TO GIVE NUMBERS TO PEOPLE WHO HAVE NOT PHYSICALLY SEEN THE COINS. Please answer my questions so I know what I want to do with my 4 new geocoins.
  21. Ahh yes! See you have never really cached with me or you would understand why I went from Southbayday to "The worlds Worst Cacher" I have more DNF's on 1/1's that are there than I do finds. I can spend a whole day caching and only find 6 caches . . . on a lucky day. Just last Sunday I went caching and the first three caches I hunted I could not find. That is why . . . . . I am the world's worst cacher.
  22. These coins are now available. See the first post in the thread for links.
