  1. Hi guy's, merry christmas...

I found the pop can stove on the internet and built a couple and i think they are cool. now is there any DIY tricks for water purification without expensive pumps, or nasty tasting tablets? Has anyone figured out how to get a PUR filter to work in the woods? and will it take out the crap that we want to remove?

    Thanks.

but this picture proves that it should be higher. :o

Then i found the jock test.

You answered "yes" to 17 of 98 questions, making you 82.7% jock pure; that is, you are 82.7% pure in the jock domain (you have 17.3% jock in you).

    That's more like it

  3. I think you have inadvertantly found a way to make BF useful..............

Get the GPSr, camera, and BF, go back to the cache for a re-enactment, and let him take the photo.

    Welcome to the madness.

Good idea, and check to make sure it's still there, it seems to have gone missing.

  4. At the next really good cache you find... the one with the nice view at the end of a long but enjoyable hike... leave a trade item worth $10 and write in the logbook that it is a gift for the next finder, and doesn't require a trade.

You'll know which cache when you get there.

    Exactly.

Sometimes you have to go with cosmic balance because you are out of whack at a single cache.

    I agree.

  5. The other way is nude caching.

Enough people do the naked caching to where it's nothing new.

However if enough people do and like to compare notes it may be worth having some guidelines to keep everones bragging rights on the same page.

How about nude naked caching! That would be fun too. It would be a lot harder though, because the nude friendly caches are usually somewhere there finding them without a GPSr would be all but impossible.

i so thought this is what this topic was about. someday i'm goind to do this just once and post a pic, i love what you do! GO you.

  6. BTW, why does anyone need to carry a sidearm to go caching?

Don't get me wrong, I have several firearms in my arsenal, but the only reason I bring a gun into the woods is for hunting.

For the same reason one installs smoke detectors in one's home and keeps fire extinguishers in one's home and car. For the same reason one carries a cell phone, drives defensively, and is always aware of one's surroundings. To keep yourself and your loved ones safe from harm.

It has nothing to do with hunting.

This is the point i was trying to make above, well said.

bowling balls are free, i have four yet to start and two in possession. you just have to convince the guy at the bowling alley that you are not going to drop them off a bridge onto traffic, fire them out of a cannon, or toss them through a parked car window. but if successfull they are free, and beautiful. let me know if you start the race, I'm in.

  9. Quickly turn your head to the right as if you were tell an invisible person something and say " I told you they were watching!... no not again we cant do it again... I don’t care what mother says... please don’t make me do it again." then begin to laugh uncontrollably ;)

On the other hand what better way to get someone interested in the sport than hand them the brochure and explain geocaching.

out of all in this topic this is my favorite. i'm going to so use it one day.

  10. Heh, there is a benchmark literally three blocks from my house that no one as logged yet, so this weekend I'm going to get a benchmark FTF on it :( Though I dunno, is it considered FTF if your the first to log a benchmark? :( At either rate, I would of gotten it already, but I just got my GPSr the other day, and I work from early in the morning until after it gets dark, so I'm waiting until I can hit it in the daylight, and take a pic.

you might want a 100 ft tape measure, small shovel and the printed sheet from the site here with locations to measure from as well as the gps. good luck. my first was under 3" of soil and i used a 1/8 steel rod to "probe" the ground at the intersecting points to find it.

    is it any of these?
