  4. We would like to trade for one of these. "D" is a rescue dog herself ... although not a Bassett. We have a few personal coins left, or if there is something else you may be interested in, let me know. Thanks. JWID
  5. Hi Folks. Sales have been brisk over the first day, and certainly will continue that way into the weekend. If you were looking to get a Southern Ontario Cachers - Keepers of Ontario's Caches coin featuring the pair of Canada Geese, you might consider doing so quickly before a sell thru. Don't forget that $1.50 from every coin is going to the family of 1701eh. The donation will certainly be put to good use and the coin will look great in your collection. Thanks. JWID
  6. A quick thanks to everybody that has purchased the Geese coins. So far over 200 have been sold (a little more than 12 hours in) and we have a great start for the donation to the family. Thanks! JWID
  7. Thanks for the feedback and the orders. Glad you liked the coin design. JWID
  8. Thanks for pointing out the typo. It has been corrected. JWID
  9. A few weeks ago we finalized the details of a new Southern Ontario Cachers geocoin. After the details had been finalized, we were all struck with the sad news of the passing of 1701eh. We were all shocked, and saddened by the situation. After the shock wore off, we contacted the company we were using to create the new coins to see if we could reconfigure the minting/selling to create a bit of a fundraiser for Tony's family. We are pleased to say that TheCachingPlace.com was very helpful in this manner, and agreed to donate $1.50 from each coin sold to the family! The details of the sale are below: Southern Ontario Cachers / Trackable with Icon 1.5" Antique Silver GC trackable with Icon 500 Antique Silver coins available for purchase 50 Antique Copper LE (kept by Southern Ontario Cachers) Price: $8.00 Southern Ontario Cachers - Canada Geese Coin Preorder starts Thursday, September 7, 2006 World Time Converter Eastern European DST 2:00 am Central European DST 1:00 am Greenwich Mean 12:00 midnight USA Eastern DST 7:00 pm USA Central DST 6:00 pm USA Mountain DST 5:00 pm USA Pacific DST 4:00 pm Ships on September 28, 2006 The shipping cost is based on the actual weight and there is a $2.00 handling fee per order (not per coin). On the evening of August 26th, after a geocaching event, Ontario lost one of its geocaching pioneers. Tony Dawe, better known as 1701eh, was an icon in the Southern Ontario geocaching community, and one of our best ambassadors. By all accounts, Tony was one of the friendliest people you could meet, the kind of fellow that many considered a true friend after only a brief encounter on the trails. He was the first in line to welcome newcomers to events, offer congratulations on milestones and give the encouragement that we have all needed at times with some of the puzzling caches that we have encountered. We will all miss his camaraderie, his sense of humour and his jovial nature. It was clear to all who knew him that his first priority was to have a great time in all that he did. Although also seriously injured, Tony is survived by his wife Sue and their two children Allan and Rebecca. The Caching Place has arranged to donate $1.50 from every geocoin sold. These proceeds will go to Tony’s family during their time of sorrow. Rest in peace 1701eh... and Boldly Go Where No Man Has Gone Before. Memories of 1701eh can be read Here. Thanks Everybody! JWID

  11. Hi Everybody. We wanted to make sure you all heard it here first. Coins will go on sale on Thursday evening, we will post the website for the sale shortly. These coins are being distributed by an American company (best pricing), but were designed by a native Southern Ontario cacher. Here's a sneak peak at the design ... 500 will be minted in an Antique silver. The geese are 3D engraved, the crest is 2D and colour filled. Thanks. JWID
  12. I think ve3tks's 2006 CITO Racer should get an honourable mention of some sort ... most miles travelled but not logged ? First it went from Ontario to Mexico, but no suitable caches were found for placing so it came back to Ontario. Now from Ontario to Nova Scotia, discovered by several at an event there, but never logged into the event itself. Soon it will be coming home again. Thousands of miles, nothing to show for it JWID
  13. Hey res2100. If you remember my binders of coins ... they are all in 2x2 flips. The exception was the large format coins and overly thick coins. Those will require a larger flip. I'll email you directly the source of the flips I bought as they don't have a website. You might even have luck in the coin shops locally. The place I pick up my sheets has some 1.5"x1.5" in stock, but doesn't seem to carry the 2x2. See Ya on the Trails! JWID
  14. We have a couple Southern Ontario Cachers Beavers in LE Copper (only 50 made) to offer for trade. You can see my trading list at Geocoins I'm Seeking Will consider other trades as well. Thanks. JWID

  24. Thanks for the replies and for the offers. I have a couple interesting multi-coin offers, but for those that have asked, the single coins I am most interested in for a one-for-one type trade would be: Groundspeak Volunteer Groundspeak Lackey First Finder's Dance Thanks. JWID
  25. I am looking to trade my 2005 MIGO SUMMER SEASONAL COIN The coin has been activated, but has logged zero miles. It is currently being "stored" in an archived cache. I have come to realize that I will not be able to track down the other 3 to complete the set. The Summer Seasonal is of course trackable and has the MIGO icon. I am entertaining offers ... and hope somebody can make an interesting/fair trade. We all know how difficult these coins are to find. Especially looking for the usual HTF trackable coins. Thanks.
