  1. All things are relative to cost and basically refinements in the software capability. Still only a single frequency receiver with accuracy dependent on the mode of operation. Cheers, Kerry. I never get lost everybody keeps telling me where to go

  4. That sort of "general" accuracy is a little (long) way off for now. But even when accuracy gets sub 1-1.5m some countries have actually "moved" close to that in the past 10-15 years relative to the system and local coords. Oh, what a worry that will be Cheers, Kerry. Well Leatherman you just on making all the assumptions you like (ever used a GPS what's a GPS ) but one thing for sure I certainly don't have to explain any of my background to you regardless of what you think. Normally it's the PRN# (max allowed 32) that most GPSR's show on a satellite screen. Just to confuse things more SVN & PRN numbers aren't necessarily the same as sats eventually are replaced with new ones. GPS sat IIR-3 (launched Oct 6, 1999) is designated SVN#46 and PRN#11. Also GPS I-8 (launched Jul 14, 1983) was known as PRN#11, SVN#8 but of course is one of the original Block I sats which is now dead an it's slot replaced by SVN#46. Cheers, Kerry.
