  1. Hi Does anyone own or know of a cache in a lovely spot in Copenhagen large enough to hold a small letter for someone specific to find? Sounds random, but it would only need to be there for a day! JK
  2. I can't get a new PQ to run, but an existing one did... Desperate to generate one 100 miles around GC303AF if anyone is feeling lucky? John
  3. I will... Whereabouts did you go?
  4. Hi, Would anyone be willing to be sent my wine related travel bug, so it can start its journey across Europe? John London
  5. Hi, would anyone be willing to be sent my new world wine related travel bug? It has a love of wine and would like to start its travels over the pond... John London
  6. I bit the bullet and rooted... works like a charm! PQ on the go, at last!
  7. Its the Oregon 450, not sure how many caches it can hold... Rooting the nexus would solve everything, maybe I should just bite the bullet!
  8. Cheers, its the whole rooting thing... I can just see myself destroying the nexus, seeing as there is no fool proof way of doing it... as far as I can see. Stickmount would sort it otherwise!
  9. Hi I am off for a few weeks, travelling through lots or areas - is there anyway at all to generate pocket queries as I travel and transfer them somehow to the garmin? I'm be taking the nexus but as far as I can see there is no way the transfer a gpx over to the gps. Just create 10s or pocket queries and load them all on the garmin? john
  10. Hi I'm finding my 450 is constantly eating batteries. Normal alkaline ones don't seem to last very long, I've never had much joy from rechargeable ones - maybe the ones I have are too old? What's the best solution? Lithium? Lithium rechargeables? John UK
  11. Thanks, I never understand why things like that are implemented, seeing as they push their cache friendly features. I'll check out the settings... cheers
  12. Hi Especially regarding series (e.g. A walk in the woods 1, a walk the woods 2 etc), it seems impossible to tell which cache is what - "a walk in t..." is rather unhelpful! Any work arounds? Also, I use the oregon to log cycle trips, if I stop to do some caching i.e. change the profile, am I right in thinking it stopped logging the track? - it seemed to. Cheers for thoughts John
  13. hi, I’ve recently purchased an Oregon 450, seems nice enough but basecamp has been a pig to get to grips with. Can anyone point me in the right direction with these issues / misconceptions? The only way to get caches into basecamp is to run a pocket query from gc.com, as the built in garmin search doesn’t list all caches? I’m not sure I get pocket queries but this would mean setting it up and waiting for the email to tell you it’s ready for download. Download, import and you are good to go. Doesn’t this make it hard to have the latest cache info if you are popping out and want to snag a few caches. What about updating existing caches? Or deleting them, what would happen to the routes? If you are routing footpaths then the only choice is to select direct navigation and edit as required. Fair enough. If you are routing multiple caches basecamp will only display the GC code in the route details – making it REALLY hard to reorder the route i.e. in a town. Cannot add multiple caches / waypoints to an existing route. One last thing... I check the screen, ok on the right route, great, how do i quickly turn off the screen? Oh no I can’t I have to lock it, on, and wait for it to go dim after a while, but not off?! Surely not? I’m sure a lot of this is a RTM thing, but I’ve found it incredibly frustrating to get going with this software! John
  14. I couldn't see such a thing... e.g. this series http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?wp=GC2PP73. I suppose I can go through it, bookmark them all and create a query on that. I'll make it public, sure!
  15. Sorry if this is a repeat... Is there a way to generate a query for a series, rather than a geographic area? Some areas have multiple series all over the place, makes it hard to plan a route! John
