  1. Can't get the cache bubbles to show on the map. Hover, zoom in , zoom out nothing appears . MOST FRUSTRATING Using Windows Vista home, Google Chrome. Was working fine a few days ago. <!-- Server: WEB13; Build: Web.HotFix_20121030.1 --> PLEASE HELP
  2. Hi there, Well it had been working perfectly well since I first installed it, quite a while ago. I can only think that the new extensions I added from Chrome store GC Bag-o-Tricks 3.0 GC little helper 8.5 GeoPrinter 2.0.6 must have messed it up and then the new Chrome thing about not adding scripts put the mockers on resetting the default for GME. I tried the drag & drop idea but it didn't work so I added Tampermonkey then added it through that and hey presto. Hope that helps. It is a really great enhancement and makes geocaching so much more of a pleasure for me.
  3. Just disabled GME in Chrome Extensions and ran it through Tampermonkey, Map menu in top right corner now appearing and staying. Many thanks for all the help I have received on this matter :D
  4. Hi jri, I disabled the following enhancements in Chrome GC Bag-o-Tricks 3.0 GC little helper 8.5 GeoPrinter 2.0.6 and the GME icons appeared at the bottom left of the screen. Tried reset defaults but could see no change. Going straight to http://www.geocaching.com/map gave same problem .. top right menu briefly appeared then went. Going to console gave following Viewport argument value "device-width;" for key "width" not recognized. Content ignored. /map/:6 Viewport argument value "1.0;" for key "initial-scale" was truncated to its numeric prefix. /map/:6 Viewport argument value "1.0;" for key "maximum-scale" was truncated to its numeric prefix. /map/:6 Viewport argument value "1.0;" for key "minimum-scale" was truncated to its numeric prefix. /map/:6 Viewport argument value "no;" for key "user-scalable" not recognized. Content ignored. /map/:6 Tampermonkey started Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property '_leaflet_id' of undefined ScriptResource.axd:3857 7Uncaught RangeError: Maximum call stack size exceeded /map/:1 Hope this is of some help. I have also disabled Adblock but this has not made any difference. Version 22.0.1229.94 m for Google Chrome Hope this helps.
  5. If the map selector appears, then disappears and doesn't return, it sounds as though GME is failing to load part-way through starting up. I would try re-setting GME's configuration using the instructions at http://geo.inge.org....htm#resetconfig . If that doesn't work, then I will need some more details before I can help: I can't reproduce your problem using my setup (Win XP, Chrome v22 and GME v0.6.0). Can you see the GME icons in the bottom-left corner of the map? Does GME work normally when you go directly to http://www.geocaching.com/map rather than clicking the "View Larger Map" link? Do any error messages appear in the Chrome console (apart from the normal ones about viewport arguments)? NB if you use the View Larger Map link, it is normal for the big map to load whatever map you have selected as the default in GME, rather than the one you were viewing on the cache page. Also, if you end up reinstalling / upgrading GME and you're not using a script manager like Tampermonkey, read this thread about how to install userscripts with the new security features in Chrome. Hope this helps!
  6. Many thanks but I did drag and drop the latest plug-in you suggested, yesterday, and I'm still experiencing the same annoying problem.
  7. Hi There, I added the enhancement into chrome a while back and when I go to the Larger Map View I have the Set Map Preference selecting Leaflet rather than Google. Does that make it any clearer?Thought they were one and the same.
  8. I'm confused. Are you using an extension (add-in) in Chrome, or are you using the Leaflet maps as provided by Geocaching.com? You mention both, so it isn't clear which one you're actually using.
  9. I added this enhancement a while back and have nothing but praise for it. However over the last week if I select OSmap on the cache page it appears but when I select View Larger Map the map appears using Google Maps and the top right menu to choose a map just appears for about half a second before disappearing. Help please. I am using Windows Vista Home, Google Chrome and Leaflet as my map prefernce

  13. I quite agree, it is odd.Probably why I mentioned it. I have contacted Garmin, and followed their very precise instructions for a factory re-set, but from time to time this glitch manifests itself. Of 20 caches I visited yesterday this only happened twice. On the fifth and the seventeenth. It's not life-threatening, in my neck of the woods, but is a bit of a pain.
  14. Thanks kritou but I change to off road before I exit car.
  15. Hadn't noticed if batteries were low, but it is a thought. I'll check next time it happens. Thanks
  16. Yes it is set to bearing and I do calibrate after battery change. I have also noticed that when it is doing this and I click to map it orientates the map so that all the writing is upside down in relation to the direction I am taking.Puzzling
  17. I use a Dakota 20 for my geocaching and frequently find the compass arrow pointing at me as I walk forwards towards a GZ and the distance counts further and further down. Recently I spotted the GZ about 500 feet away and walked in a straight line, across open ground, towards it. The arrow remained constantly pointing directly away from the GZ though it counted down steadily from 545 feet to 1 foot and I was almost standing on the cache. Does anyone else "suffer" from this phenomenon? Is there a fix?
  18. Hi and many thanks Flinstones5611. Hope it isn't too much of an imposition. Fingers crossed he's hibernating safely.
  19. Thanks Pup Patrol for the correction, my eyesight, along with all my other faculties, must be failing.
  20. The correct GC code for the cache your travel bug was dropped in is GC1YPKG. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=cc6a87c9-374a-4611-b041-5d32ade1d53d Maybe someone who is in the area (Brampton, not Toronto) might be able to check on the cache and see if your travel bug is in it. 22. Hi,I am looking for some kind geocacher in the Toronto area to rescue my TB Polie the Polar Bear from this cache. It has been there over 47 days and really needs to be travelling. It doesn't appear to be a very well visited cache and the CO seems to be easing down on his hobby. More than half of his caches are de-activated and I'm worried that this one will be next. Please help. Hope you don't mind me using your forum, I have tried TB-rescue.com but have had no takers so far. Happy Canada Day by the way. Sorry should be GC1YPKG, thanks for the heads-up Pup Patrol
  23. Wanneer je in het map scherm houdt u de - min-teken tot kaarten verschijnen. Kaarten lijken te verdwijnen wanneer u op de + te veel en de schaal naar beneden te laag. Hoop dat dit vertaalt goed en is van het gebruik.
