  1. We have a number of caches like that up hear in NorCal. Usually the bags are the heavy duty pill bags. They are wrapped in camo or duct tape. They are often slipped behind signs on the side of buildings, in cracks in brick walls, sometimes between the post and a stop sign. We get pretty wet winters here, but I have found these generally do a good job. In a dry area, slipped into a crack that keeps the cache out of the sun and wind, it could do just fine. Hey Jim! They make GREAT evil hides. Just depends on how well they are maintained, like ALL caches. I have several made from a small ziplock covered in duct tape and have to change them out every year or so and I live in snow country. Everything gets destroyed after time out in the elements...even ammo cans can rust. Willing to keep up on maintenance is the key.
  2. I've done a fun one where there's a camo'd container in the tree that you can see, and somewhere in the trees, there's actually a fishing pole that you have to use to get it down and put it back up. Really fun! Gotta love the creativity! I personally carry a reel of fishing line with me. I have several that are down pipes and drains, suspended by fishing line. I also use it for "fishing" caches where something is down a pipe, for example, and you have to fish it out with a washer or magnet. Brings hides to a whole new level! Definitely would suggest heavy line and pulleys if you go the fishing line route.
  3. Just received a brand new USB cable for my explorist 600 that I actually don't need. It will fit the 210, 400 and 500 as well. This one doesn't require the extra cord for the power source. Bought it for $20.00. Will sell for $15.00 including shipping. Please email my profile! Thanks!
  4. I'm looking for a working USB cable for an explorist 600. I think mine is toast. I have the power cord part, just need the USB.
  5. Magellan Explorist series car charger cord. Only used a few times and I have another one. $10.00 no shipping charge.
  6. What about those who have severe asthma...should they just stop breathing the air??? This was a very entertaining thread! Please do continue!
  7. Just for the record, Oriental Trading is a company name, not a practice, and secondly, it has quality items at low prices, in quantity amounts, not junk. I don't think this thread was called "politics and trade embargos", caylor was mearly asking for some ideas. No need to attack!
  8. There is a great online store called Oriental Trading where you can buy stuff in each, dozen, units or gross depending on what it is. They have a lot of inexpensive trinkets that are good quality. The prices are great as well! The website is www.orientaltrading.com. Hope that helps
