  1. That's for when you're out in the boonies with no bars that you can still access data. You may not have tiles on your map, but you can still access descriptions and hints.
  2. BTW, perhaps we wouldn't be hitting the maps as hard if you didn't time out the maps in an incredibly short period of time. Here's an example. I opened a map to plot out where I want to go cache. It took two minutes to load. It finally loaded. I zoomed in and out and panned over along the way to an area in which I had few finds. I zoomed in, and... all my finds disappeared? Huh? I zoomed out - find icons were there. I zoomed in, and they disappeared. Zoom out, they're there; zoom in, they're gone. So what do I have to do? Hit refresh on the browser. Re-center where I wanted to look. Zoom in. Oh, there the icons are again. Wait about 5-10 minutes and then repeat.
  3. BTW, since I know the first thing that Groundspeak will say is that they don't know what I am talking about with regard to the holes and the pixelated icon bitmaps, here's a screenshot: I'm still waiting for the map to finish loading - again...
  4. Except for a flaw because you're confusing geocaches vs. geocachers. But I'll agree my estimate was high. I tend to agree with that other estimate that says about $10 per year. Heck, I'd be happy to even double the current price. I agree. I have no problem with Groundspeak passing that cost onto me as a consumer. The new maps suck. Take forever to load, leave gaps, and if you zoom in on icon while the map is loading (since it takes forever), it leaves large pixelated remnants of the bitmaps scattered all over.
  5. Still waiting for my maps to load. Hey, I'll pay more for my premium membership if it means we get decent quick loading maps. I don't care about not having the google maps, although I too prefer the hybrid view. But, my gosh, this performance is just pathetic! This is NOT an upgrade. This is a MAJOR DOWNGRADE. Let me generate a KML and I'll go do my own maps. I can probably have done it in the time it has taken the maps to load. When it finally does load, it's missing tiles left and right. Bring back the Google maps until you've at least beta tested this one...
  6. I checked the thing just now, and it appears that the stats go off of UTC, not local time. Right now, it is showing 3 for 3, with a rate of 1 per day. BTW, I'm CopaMAN - a "he." Thanks for all the help!
  7. Can someone explain the math to me? I've found two caches in two days, one on each day (keeping my streak going). Just for kicks, I went to go look at my statistics, and there's a section called "Yearly Breakdown" that shows 2 total caches and the Find Rate is 0.6667 caches/day. I would expect that the average over two days for a total of two caches would be 1 cache per day. But it says 0.6667, which is what it would be if it were averaged over THREE days. Is Groundspeak already adding the leap year day into the statistics or what? Because somehow, there's a phantom day in the calculations somewhere.
  8. According to the FAQ: However, when I do that, the only option I have under action is "Log." On the trackable page itself, it has the action "Move to Inventory" but no "Move to Collection."
  9. Not quite sure where to post this, so I thought I'd do it here. I noticed that if you have problems with the website, you're supposed to post the problems or feature requests in the Website forum. However, the forum is locked so that no one can post to that forum, thus why I am posting this message here. So, just to be clear, you need to unlock the Website support forum (http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showforum=8) so users can post their issues there.
  10. If you look at the recent logs for TBs, you'll only see "Discovered", "Dropped Off", etc. It will not provide a location for the caches where these events took place.
  11. Often times I will take a picture of a TB I discover in the wild and wish to upload it to the log (showing a cool place that a TB has been). I wish there was a way to upload pictures to a TB log instead of just to a cache log.
