  1. This one was fixed for a while, but I just noticed it came back again.
  2. I was in the process of logging this afternoon when all of a sudden, I notice that the font inside the dialog box on the Comments section of posting new logs is so small I can barely read it. I see it appears okay in Microsoft IE, but in Firefox, it's too small to read in Firefox. Can this be fixed?
  3. That's too bad. People now have more access to more devices that are capable of doing Wherigo caches, but they are abandoning it? That's really sad to hear. I've ended up downloading some of the Open Source scripts and reverse engineering them. Not very elegant, but so far it's working. Thanks for the update.
  4. Been trying to figure out how to program a Wherigo, and one of the threads suggested I use the "Create a Simple Cartridge" under Tools > Wizards. However, it ONLY lets you put in an address (no coordinates) for starting position, and when trying to resolve this, I get an error: "Error looking up address: The remote name could not be resolved: 'api.local.yahoo.com'" Then, I tried to generate zones from the map. The map doesn't display and I get another error: "There was an error using TerraServer. The operation has timed out" Any help on these? Thanks in advance.
  5. It used to be that I would generate the cache page, and then just before publication, I would create a GPX file to put on my GPSr, and then I would go out and try to find it using the GPX file to make sure I hadn't messed up the coordinates and to get a good feel to make sure all was good. For a few months now, that hasn't been working, but the "Send to my GPS" was an alternative. Now that is not working either. Any idea of how to do this? Yes, I could just create a way point, but I always liked having the whole GPX file (with description, hint, etc) to make sure all of it was good. Thanks in advance.
  6. I can't get *ANY* PQs to run. Glad I paid for my premium membership for that capability...
  7. Getting ready to travel tomorrow, and following all of the instructions on the Groundspeak page, and yet I can't create a PQ for caches along a route. The old one that I have only pulls in about 30 or so, and I can't create a new one. Anyone have any idea of how to make the caches along a route work? I really don't want to pass up any caches along the way on my long trip across Iowa tomorrow.
  8. Here's the deal: I posted a bug. Everyone else has come in here offering suggestions of "Are you sure you posted a 'needs maintenance' log?" or "Maybe the CO changed the attributes after you posted it?" Seriously? That's akin to "Did you turn your computer on?" There is a bug. I posted it. The bug exists on the software side of things, and no matter how much you guys choose to try to put it back on me by implying that I am somehow inept in using this site, the fact remains: there is a bug. Thanks, Don J, your advice about getting "my chip" looked at was very helpful. I don't know how I survived so long without such stellar advice. You have definitely proved yourself as as asset to the geocaching community with that post! Keep them coming!
  9. Perhaps the CO edited the attribute out before you could look? Yeah, that's it. The CO hasn't logged in since January, so he logged into the system in the 0.2 seconds after I hit "submit" and the page refreshed without the attribute. Some of you guys are real geniuses. Just thought I would let Groundspeak know. Jeez, you try to do a good thing...
  10. I posted it as a "Needs Maintenance" log after posting a "Found It" log. It warned me that doing so would trigger the addition of a "Needs Maintenance" attribute. However, if you look at the cache page, you'll see there is no attribute. I'm one of those few people who checks for those attributes before going after a cache, so that's why I pointed it out.
  11. I found a cache with a very soaked log, and I posted a "Needs Maintenance" log. However, it did not also add the "Needs Maintenance" attribute to the cache page. The cache is http://coord.info/GC1QX5H
  12. I always get "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later."
  13. I've been trying for the last hour to add my logs for my caches from the weekend. It's been really slow, but lately, I've gotten this weird message: The service is unavailable. Server is too busy Somehow, this site is faster and responsive, but I'm just watching the window start to paint brown before I see the above error.
  14. Anyone ever find a solution to this one?
  15. It finally recovered after about fifteen minutes. Still, thought you should know about it.
  16. Every time I go to access my profile, I get the following error: Server Error in '/' Application. Runtime Error Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine. Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off". <!-- Web.Config Configuration File --> <configuration> <system.web> <customErrors mode="Off"/> </system.web> </configuration> Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL. <!-- Web.Config Configuration File --> <configuration> <system.web> <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/> </system.web> </configuration> What can I do? I haven't been able to log caches.
  17. Logged in this morning to check my grids, and statistics aren't available. Whenever I try to see my statistics, it hangs and ultimately says "Geocaching statistics are not available at this time." There are no pictures (avatars, etc) available either.
  18. Any movement on this? I just came across two letterbox caches that were essentially puzzles I had to solve (thus, no descriptions on how to get there, just some coordinates listed on the page). I'd like to have the coordinates in my GPS be the actual coordinates. On most other letterbox hides, the posted coordinates are usually where one begins their search. In this case, one of the posted coordinates put you in the middle of a taxiway at an airport - definitely NOT a safe place to begin your letterbox search. So, the question is: how do I get this cache to show up at the actual location? Can this PLEASE be a feature?
  19. Me too. I thought it was just me! Groundspeak, thanks for bringing back the Google maps! Please, can you add the caches back to the maps ASAP? Thanks!
  20. But for how much longer are those Google maps on the cache pages available? For all I know, the next update will do away with them as well. And based on my experience, it likely will! I called it!

  22. What about this - reinstitute Google maps for premium members, but not make them the default. Then, the hybrid and satellite views are available when users need them, but for most of the standard queries, we can use these other maps. This way, the views are available when you need them, but by not making them the default, it cuts down on the number of hits against Google's server. As for you guys who talk about the good old days, that was before you might have a thousand caches in an area supersaturated. I regularly use the maps and satellite views in the Minneapolis area, because the urban caches are often placed adjacent to private property. Looking at a normal street map, you see it in the middle of a block. When I switch to other map views, I realize that the place I planned to park and walk in from is actually private property and someone's backyard. Such research is almost mandatory in an urban setting. I don't mind the OSM views (although I hate the blue highways; blue should ALWAYS only be water on a map!). But I want the option to be able to do Google maps at least once or twice a day.
